The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 475: Chapter 475: The Top Circle is Right by Nathalie’s Side_1

Her tone was already very impatient, not giving Jeff Quinlan a chance as she said directly, ”Aren’t they on good terms with Nathalie Quinlan? Nathalie is so capable, why don’t they go to her instead of bothering you?”

”Ghania...”

”Dad, if you really feel sorry for them, you can send them a red packet, eight hundred or a thousand, you can decide, but don’t ask me for more help.”

Ghania Quinlan’s attitude was clear, she would not help!

Even though referring the request to her would be a small effort, she still didn’t want to.

Jeff Quinlan was unable to persuade her and had no choice but to hang up the phone.

After hanging up, he pulled up his phone book and stared at Nathalie Quinlan’s number lying quietly inside, remaining silent for a long time with his mouth corners pressed tight.

He had indeed considered the connection to Nathalie Quinlan, but the people she knew, like Silvania Ingram, were power players from the McKinney area, which meant they were top dogs in McKinney but just so-so in the highly competitive Beijing circle.

After all, the Wilmar Family was one of the top few families in the Beijing circle. Aside from the Yancey Family who could afford not to give face to the Wilmar Family, who would dare to snub the young master of the Wilmar Family?

Nathalie Quinlan, as influential as she was, had access to a limited social circle, not like Ghania Quinlan, who was brought into Beijing by Myles Sullivan, she ultimately couldn’t reach the most top-tier circles.

Besides, Nathalie Quinlan had long blacklisted his phone number; he wanted to speak to her, but there was nowhere he could do so.

Jeff Quinlan sighed, exited the phone book, and then opened up Aunt Cagwin’s WhatsApp from years ago, thought for a moment, and transferred some money from his phone.

At that moment, in a high-end club’s VVIP room somewhere in Beijing, over a dozen people were gathered. The room was equipped with billiards, karaoke, and a host of other entertainment facilities, yet everyone seemed disinterested, instead clustering together to watch a mahjong game.

The table was laden with a stack of chips, and Amadeus Yancey casually glanced at the tiles he drew, leaning lazily against the back of his chair as he tossed one out.

”Eight bamboos.”

His voice was quite indifferent, exuding an air of nonchalance. He didn’t even look at the tile he had thrown out as if he hadn’t realized that no one had taken the tile he’d just discarded.

He obviously wasn’t playing seriously.

His style of playing was no different from handing out free money!

Sure enough, as soon as he discarded his tile, a man sitting to his lower left side, also handsome, happily collected the discarded mahjong tile and revealed his hand of tiles.

”Pure suit Grand Slam, thanks a lot!”

”Damn, a pure suit! Mr. Vinson’s luck today’s too good!”

”...Why do I feel like it’s Amadeus getting too many bad draws and always discarding the winning tile for others?”

”Amadeus is going to lose a fair amount of money this round.”

The onlookers hadn’t expected him to have such good tiles; hitting a pure suit Grand Slam right off the bat meant the multipliers were already maxed out.

Here, a single chip was worth about 50,000, and Amadeus Yancey nonchalantly passed him a dozen chips, his face unchanged as if he didn’t care about the loss at all.

While the tiles were being shuffled, he leaned back in his chair, picked up his phone with one hand, looked down, evidently reading a message from someone. His deep, narrow eyes were slightly squinted, and his thin lips were drawn into a line, as if he were waiting for a message from someone.

But who in Beijing was worth such attentive consideration from this esteemed man?

Caryn Zachmann was also there, invited over by Sadam Vinson. Through her association with Audrick Zachmann, she always tried to edge her way into this circle of Beijing elites she so desperately wanted to be a part of.

Sadam Vinson told her Amadeus would be there that night, so she hustled over after cancelling her plans, only to find that she hadn’t managed a single word with the man even now.

Caryn Zachmann was disappointed. She disdained to join others crowding around to watch Amadeus Yancey and Sadam Vinson play cards and didn’t want to leave either, so she simply opened a bottle of wine and chatted with Alfred Garland on the side.

Seeing the man who never usually lost money frequently discarding the winning tiles for others, she couldn’t help saying, ”What’s with Amadeus today, why does he seem so distracted?”
