The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 50: Chapter 50: Still Got Caught by the Teacher_1

”Alright, I’ll listen to you.”

Aunt Cagwin complied with her words, carefully noting down everything she said. As Nathalie was about to hang up the phone, Aunt Cagwin asked hesitatingly, ”Nathalie, did your dad come today?”

”Jeff Quinlan? He did.” Nathalie’s line of sight had already fallen on the computer screen, and she had no interest in talking about Jeff Quinlan.

She saw the message that Lowie Wilmar had left for her.

[Lowie Wilmar: Nathalie Quinlan, you’re something else, knowing people from Red Alliance! That person is still investigating you, and Red Alliance has hacked his computer for you. When did you start knowing such impressive people?]

Her beautiful fingers rested on the mouse, her expression became thoughtful, confused about who had been doggedly investigating her like adhesive plaster.

Aunt Cagwin was still speaking, careful, afraid of upsetting her: ”Was it him who bailed you out?”

”No, he just came to scold people.”

Nathalie placed her phone on the desk, switched on speakerphone, and while operating the mouse, she brought up a stock market page. Her beautiful eyes never left the main index as her fingers swiftly input a string of data.

The red and green lines on the main index shifted with the movements of her hands, showing new fluctuations.

”The police looked at the road intersection surveillance from that time and confirmed that those guys started the trouble. After I gave a transcript, they let me go.”

Speaking of which, it wasn’t long after she sent messages to Lowie Wilmar and Silvania Ingram that the young cop received a phone call, then turned around and said they needed to check the road intersection surveillance, claiming her actions were a brave act of righteousness. Then, soon after, Mr. Cadwell, the police chief, also arrived.

Could it be... Amadeus Yancey?

Nathalie comforted Aunt Cagwin a bit more before hanging up the phone and tossing it aside.

The next day.

She hadn’t slept well the previous night because she was busy, and Nathalie barely made it to the classroom as the bell rang.

As soon as she entered, before she had even put down her bag—

Jhovany Sullivan stood up excitedly, grabbed her hand, and with eyes brimming with tears, said to her, ”Nathalie, you’ve finally arrived. I’m so sorry, I... The teacher found out you left early yesterday and got really angry. What should we do?”

She was full of guilt, unable to raise her head.

Nathalie had asked her to help call in sick before she left, but she had messed it up.

”The teacher asked where you went, and I... In my panic, I lied and said you went to the bathroom. I didn’t expect she would send someone to look for you there. Nathalie, I’m so sorry, it’s all my fault, I should have thought of a better excuse, like saying you had a cold and went to see a doctor. Why am I so stupid, saying you went to the bathroom... ”

The boy sitting in the front couldn’t stand it anymore and tossed her a tissue, saying with a look of disdain, ”What are you crying for? Really. Wipe your nose, it’s nearly dripping into your mouth! And I’m not even sure if you’re a girl.”

Angered, Jhovany Sullivan’s face turned red, and she stopped crying. She lifted her head and retorted, ”None of your business!”

The boy liked seeing her puffed up with anger, and in a particularly nasty tone, he said, ”Oh, but it is ’my family’s’ business.”

”You!” Jhovany Sullivan realized what he meant and was so angry she wanted to hit him, forgetting her self-blame and waving her arms in fury: ”Justin Wafford, you big fool!”

”Tsk. I thought you’d come up with something creative to say, but that’s it?”

”...”

Lay off her; she’s going to bite him to death!

After mocking Jhovany Sullivan, he turned to Nathalie and protectively said, ”New student, right? Hello, my name is Justin Wafford. Don’t be mad at Jhovany Sullivan. She might be a bit slow, but when the teacher came, she genuinely wanted to cover for you. No. 1 Middle School doesn’t allow leave requests, so when the teacher asked her, she panicked and lied, saying you went to the bathroom. Who would’ve guessed that the ’menopausal’ one would take it seriously and send someone to check the bathroom, leading to the mess...”

Nathalie put her backpack in place, then nodded nonchalantly, both beautiful and cool: ”It’s okay, I was the one who troubled her.”
