The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 19: Chapter 19: The Person Who Was Saved, His Young Nephew?_1

She had not been well from a young age, and those around her knew it.

Jane Bailey and another girl immediately supported her, asking with concern, ”Ghania, are you okay?”

”How could you suddenly have chest pains?”

Seeing that Zayn Fisher’s attention had been pulled back to her, Ghania Quinlan said in a pale, weak voice, ”I don’t know either, it just suddenly hurt so much.”

Zayn Fisher could no longer pay attention to the thoroughly soaked Nathalie Quinlan; with a tense expression, he lifted Ghania and turned to Jane and the others, saying, ”I’m taking her to the hospital!”

”We’ll come too!”

Having just received a scolding from the righteous elderly man, Jane and the others already felt too ashamed to stay there and took the opportunity to voluntarily follow along.

Zayn Fisher and his group quickly moved through the crowd and left.

...

”Cough, cough!” Nathalie Quinlan saw the little boy spew out the water in his stomach and removed the acupuncture needles from the back of his neck, breathing a sigh of relief.

Only then did she feel her neck burning like fire.

She wiped the painful spot and looked down to see her hand covered in blood.

Surely, it was from the little guy’s frantic scratching when he got scared, his fingernails tore her skin to this extent.

The old man, who had just been lecturing Ghania and her friends, now noticed the wound on her neck and said with concern, ”Young lady, your neck has been scratched raw; you should go to the hospital later to disinfect it, so the wound doesn’t get infected!”

Nathalie Quinlan didn’t take the bleeding seriously; before Ghania’s health had improved, she used to donate 300CC of blood every month to help sustain Ghania’s life, so this amount of blood was nothing to her, no different from a mosquito’s.

”I’m fine.”

The old man, still worried, followed beside her, muttering, ”Still, you should go see a doctor at the hospital for a check-up. River water is dirty, and you’ve been injured on the neck; if it gets inflamed, that could be troublesome!”

”By the way, young lady, have you studied Chinese Medicine? I see that your acupuncture skills are practiced, not like a beginner’s. You must be too young to be in university, right? Is someone in your family a Chinese Medicine practitioner? Your grandfather or grandmother?”

In their generation, those who practiced Chinese Medicine were highly respected, and people had faith in Chinese Medicine. However, as technology advanced, Western Medicine gradually became the first choice for many, causing Chinese Medicine clinics to decline.

He had seen Nathalie’s skilled use of acupuncture and, being curious due to her young age, inquired further.

”...No, I just pricked him a few times, it was just good luck.”

A continuous buzzing sound was in her ears.

Nathalie Quinlan, her head aching, took out paper from her bag to clean the blood on her neck and absent-mindedly responded to the old man.

Now that the boy had been rescued, she had to go to school tomorrow and still had to go buy some things!

Just then, a wave of commotion rose from the crowd, as it seemed someone was coming in from behind.

Before she had time to look up, she heard a familiar voice.

”Nathalie Quinlan?”

This voice?

When Nathalie raised her head towards the source of the voice, she was greatly troubled.

Why was it Audrick Zachmann’s ’friend’ again!

Amadeus Yancey had raced over, and upon seeing so many people gathered under the bridge, he knew that Edric Yancey must be there.

He feared hearing bad news, but a strong sense of control pushed him to step forward briskly, and the scenario that met his eyes was much better than he had imagined!

Edric Yancey lay on the ground with his eyes tightly closed, but he was breathing and curled up, continuously coughing and spitting out water.

A step away from him, the girl was completely drenched, with skin like white porcelain glaze now nearly translucent white, and her dark hair entwined around her snowy neck. Her soaked clothes clung to her body, outlining her curves. Those pitch-black eyes, upon hearing his shout, looked over in his direction with surprise, seeming a bit... impatient?

Amadeus Yancey had never expected to encounter such a scene when he arrived.

His men, quick to act, had already checked on Edric Yancey, and with a sense of relief, reported to him, ”Amadeus, the young master is fine. He hadn’t been underwater for long and was rescued promptly; he’s just unconscious from inhaling water...”
