The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 17: Chapter 17: Don’t Want to Save a Dead Person_1

Audrick Zachmann knew he would react this way and said helplessly, ”The surveillance from the section of Wangjiangnan Road shows that Edric fell into the river trying to pick something up... It’s been several minutes since he fell in, and there’s no surveillance over there, so the specific situation is still unclear... Don’t panic, I’ve already notified the nearest fire and rescue team to hurry over, and I’m on my way there as well...”

The Black Phaeton came to a screeching halt, almost crashing into the roadside greenbelt!

Amadeus Yancey’s vision blurred with black and white as his breath involuntarily tightened, as if someone was choking him, leaving him unable to breathe for an instant.

The scene of his cousin entrusting her dying wish that he take good care of Edric Yancey was still vivid in his mind...

He suddenly slammed on the accelerator, racing towards the location Audrick had given him.

...

”The child’s face is all frozen and purple, I’m afraid there’s no saving him.”

”So tragic, looks to be only 5, 6 years old. Drowning at such a small age, the family must be heartbroken.”

”Has the ambulance not arrived yet?”

”I just made a phone call, there’s traffic control at the intersection ahead, it will take at least half an hour to get through.”

”I made a call too.”

On the shore, the crowd of onlookers formed a circle around the scene, chattering and negotiating non-stop.

Ghania Quinlan and Zayn Fisher managed to squeeze through the crowd and saw Nathalie Quinlan soaked through, head bowed as if she saw none of the people surrounding her, continuously pressing her hands against the child’s chest.

”What is sister doing?” she asked curiously.

Zayn Fisher, slightly surprised to see Nathalie knew first aid, said, ”She’s performing CPR on the child. It’s a resuscitation technique.”

Ghania Quinlan, noticing how Zayn Fisher was intently watching Nathalie, felt uneasy, pursed her lips, and whispered in a small voice, ”When did sister learn this? Hope she’s not just copying what she saw on TV. The child is so young, maybe we should wait for the doctors to come.”

Zayn Fisher also felt that Nathalie shouldn’t be rashly administering first aid since she wasn’t a professional. If anything happened to the child, it would be difficult to explain afterward.

He lifted his chin slightly and took out his phone, ”I know someone at the City Hospital, I’ll give them a call to get them to come quicker.”

Hearing that he knew someone at the City Hospital, the surrounding crowd looked at him in amazement.

McKinney’s City Hospital was a top-tier hospital with a big reputation amongst the local ones, and even getting an appointment was usually difficult, not everyone could claim to know the doctors there.

An elderly lady couldn’t help but praise him, ”Young man, what a good Samaritan!”

Ghania Quinlan also basked in the glory by his side.

Only Nathalie Quinlan, feeling like the voices around her were unbearably noisy, had annoyance written all over her pale oval face. Her body was dripping with water, her seaweed-like hair hung on her shoulders, and her shirt and T-shirt, soaked through, clung to her neck, where a scratch from the child, still oozing drops of blood, could be seen on her fair skin.

The red intertwined with the white was shockingly striking!

As she pressed on, the child lying on the ground still hadn’t expelled the water from his belly, and his breathing became weaker and weaker.

She took a deep breath, not wanting to have dived in only to rescue a corpse.

Not caring about the consequences, she rummaged through her bag and took out a small cloth packet, opening it.

”What is that?” Ghania Quinlan, with sharp eyes, saw what Nathalie had taken out and pointedly asked.

Some onlookers also noticed and recognized what was in Nathalie’s hand, ”Looks like acupuncture?”

”Does this young lady know acupuncture? What is she going to do with it?”
