The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 48: Chapter 48: Amadeus’s Head-pat Kill_1

Outside the police station.

Alfred Garland was driving the car, with an outstandingly handsome man seated inside—deep-set facial features sculpted in relief, and with the car window rolled down, he rested an arm on it, the Buddhist beads on his wrist visibly eye-catching, like a resting lion exuding a sense of dignity and power in every move.

Amadeus Yancey saw her come out, the bloodthirstiness in his eyes fading considerably. His gaze was deep as his hoarse and seductive voice asked, ”You’re out?”

”Yeah.” Nathalie Quinlan opened the car door, placed her bag inside first, then got in herself, saying, ”Ran into Mr. Cadwell from the police station and had a few words, which delayed me a bit.”

”Oh.” Amadeus Yancey seemed not at all surprised. Seeing her get in the car, he had the car window rolled up and instructed Alfred, ”Head to Audrick Zachmann’s villa.”

”Yes, Amadeus.”

The car started slowly.

Throughout the ride, Alfred Garland kept stealing glances at the back seat through the rearview mirror, growing increasingly astonished at the sight of Nathalie Quinlan’s fair and delicate profile.

Ssss~ Amadeus actually went with the Zachmann Family’s newly found young lady to eat at a street stall!

And he got into a street fight!

What’s this, a momentary return to a youthful rebellion?

Amadeus, after being detached for so long, suddenly re-entered his rebellious phase at 18?

...

His gaze was too intent.

Although Nathalie Quinlan looked out the car window the whole way, she knew Alfred Garland was stealthily watching her.

At last, the car reached the villa.

Amadeus Yancey got out first and opened the car door for her.

Nathalie Quinlan took her backpack and hopped out.

”Wait a second.” He suddenly closed in, pinning Nathalie Quinlan against the side of the car, his tall frame casting a shadow over her.

Nathalie Quinlan, suddenly cornered in a tight space, drew a sharp breath and instinctively looked up—her bright eyes, black and shining, brow furrowing.

Amadeus Yancey seemed to check her over for injuries, his hand resting gently on top of her head—warm, slightly hot, very gentle.

”It’s good you’re not hurt. You have class tomorrow. Go upstairs and sleep early.”

”...”

So close, his breath as he spoke seemed to fall on her neck, his voice low and rich. Nathalie Quinlan’s heart missed a beat for no clear reason, and she instinctively leaned back, her body stiffening unnaturally, ”Uh, yeah, okay.”

Amadeus Yancey, seeing her reaction like that of a bristling hedgehog, chuckled lightly, stepped aside, and made way for her.

Nathalie Quinlan immediately grabbed her bag and fled as if escaping, ”You should rest early too, I’m going up now!”

Having said that, she hurried off.

Alfred Garland witnessed the entire scene of Amadeus flirting with the girl, almost digging his own eyes out.

Good lord, he was going blind—his single-dog eyes dazzled by the brilliance!

No wonder in the past Mr. Zachmann and the others liked saying that Amadeus only lacked interest in playing around, because if he wanted to, there wouldn’t be a single girl in Beijing Amadeus couldn’t charm.

Just now, that doting and caring look in Amadeus’s eyes, even he, a grown man, felt a stir.

But isn’t Ms. Zachmann’s younger sister a bit too young for him at this age?

Although Amadeus isn’t old, Ms. Quinlan is still in high school.

Compared to the sweet young lady from the Zachmann family, who was recently found after being raised in a small household, Ms. Zachmann would seem a far more suitable and exemplary match for Amadeus...

Alfred Garland watched Amadeus Yancey with an incredibly complicated expression, almost twisting it into a knot, but Amadeus seemed in a good mood, the smile apparent in his lowered eyes. Alfred rubbed his face and managed to swallow the torrent of words he had.

Seizing the moment Nathalie had gone inside, he hurriedly said to him, ”Amadeus, Mr. Yancey heard about you going to the police station and wants you to give him a call later.”
