The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 42: Chapter 42: Got into a Fight and Ended up in the Police Station_1

Nathalie Quinlan didn’t take the ragtag bunch before her seriously and, pointing at the vegetables trampled into pulp on the ground, asked, ”Did you do this?”

The hoodlums paused, then snickered and said, ”What if we did?”

”It’s no big deal, pay up!”

Straight to the point.

The hoodlums seemed amused by her, their eyes roving over her body with undisguised lechery as they said, ”Alright then, you tell big brother which school and class you’re in, and I’ll come to your school to pay you another day.”

Nathalie’s eyes flared with a hint of wildness as she smiled, ”I’m not free any other day, how about today?”

”Ha-ha-ha, today? Sure, there’s a hotel ahead. How about you spend the night with big brother, and I’ll give you money, as much as you want. I’ll even give you my life!”

”Nathalie!”

Aunt Cagwin’s face turned pale with fear as she yanked Nathalie’s arm, worried she might disclose her school, shaking her head incessantly.

”Never mind, I don’t want the money, just let it be, Auntie is okay.”

Her son was worthless, but she absolutely could not let Nathalie get dragged into this, or else she would never be at peace in this lifetime!

Nathalie pulled her to a safe place and said, ”Aunt Cagwin, just stay here, I’ll help you get the money back!”

”I don’t want it anymore, Nathalie, don’t go.”

The hoodlum, seeing them tugging at each other, walked over irritably and reached out to grab Nathalie’s shoulder.

Nathalie narrowed her eyes, about to dodge.

A hand reached out and grabbed the thug’s wrist, twisting it backward violently. The thug cried out in pain.

”Are you alright?” Amadeus Yancey approached with his bloodthirsty eyes utterly cold.

Nathalie almost forgot he was still here and shook her head.

At that moment, the humiliated thug’s expression turned to furious rage. He grabbed a stool from the ground and aimed to smash it down on them, yelling, ”You bitch, giving face but not wanting it, huh? Looking for death!”

Amadeus pulled her behind him, his voice low.

”Young ladies shouldn’t get into fights, stand aside.”

Right as the hoodlum charging with the stool neared them, the tall and handsome man lifted his leg in a smooth, sharp move, and the thug holding the stool was sent flying. The plastic stool shattered to pieces, and the fight seemed as if he was merely beating up vegetables...

Nathalie raised an eyebrow, watching him beat up the hoodlums.

Clicking her tongue, she mused that despite his delicate and tender appearance, he could actually fight!

...

At this hour, there were quite a few people eating at the stalls, and many cars stopped to watch the commotion.

Before long, the intersection was completely blocked off.

Someone had already made a police call when the trouble started.

When the police hurried to the scene, everything had already ended.

Lying scattered on the ground were seven or eight hoodlums, and a man in his twenties with a powerful aura stood beside a girl, seemingly the other party involved in a group brawl.

They also didn’t know what the situation now was, so they followed the law and took both parties of the fight back to the police station.

Aunt Cagwin’s son, beaten severely, was taken to the hospital first.

Before getting into the police car, Nathalie stuffed all the money she had collected from the thugs into Aunt Cagwin’s hands, and comfortingly patted her shoulder, saying, ”In a few days I’ll visit Uncle Cagwin at the hospital and bring you guys something. Take this and make soup for Uncle Cagwin to drink, it’s good for his condition.”

The middle-aged woman nodded repeatedly, her eyes brimming with tears, clutching Nathalie’s hand with both gratitude and guilt, ”Nathalie, I’m sorry.”

Nathalie, seeing how distressed she was, patted her hand, ”It’s okay. Aunt Cagwin, don’t overthink it.”

The nurse inside the ambulance was urging her, so she lifted her eyes and sincerely thanked the man with a dashing presence, ”Sir, thank you for today.”

Had Nathalie and her friend not been there, there was no telling what shape Freddy Cagwin would have been beaten into by those thugs today...

But the fact that she had implicated Nathalie in a police matter left her with a heavy heart.

Once the ambulance doors closed, she gathered her courage, took out her phone, and dialed a number she had not called in a long time, ”Hello, Mr. Quinlan...”
