The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 15: Chapter 15: Nathalie Quinlan Jumped Down to Save Someone_1

Her words were overheard by an adult standing beside her; the elderly person was overjoyed and asked her, ”Young girl, can you swim? That’s great. The child is about to drown, please save him...”

The old man’s voice was loud, and his call attracted the attention of the people around.

Everyone wanted to save the child, but alas, nobody knew how to swim.

Ghania Quinlan looked at the water under the bridge; river water couldn’t possibly be as clean as that in a high-end swimming pool. As soon as she saw the murky river water, she immediately furrowed her delicate brows, disgust flashing across her eyes rapidly. It was filthy, and the current was so strong; if she went down there, she might risk her own life. She certainly wouldn’t take a chance for a child she didn’t know.

But with so many pairs of eyes hopefully looking at her, she couldn’t possibly refuse. Ghania bit her lip pretentiously, her eyes soft, and a troubled expression appeared on her face, ”I only took a few days of classes during summer camp, and I’m not good at swimming... I may not be able to rescue the person if I go down. How about I call Zayn over, he’s nearby.”

As she spoke, she took out her phone, pretending to be eager to make a phone call.

The Old man standing next to her wanted to say that calling someone now wouldn’t be quick enough, but it was clear that the girl was reluctant to go down and save someone, so he could only stand anxiously on the roadside.

The waves in the water were high, and the struggling child was about to be submerged.

The onlookers were calling the police and trying to find things like ropes, basins, and anything that might float to help...

At that moment, a slender figure decisively squeezed through the crowd, placed her bag aside, and jumped in.

”Nathalie Quinlan?!” Among the girls who had come with Ghania, someone recognized Nathalie Quinlan and exclaimed in surprise. Then, turning to Ghania who was calling Zayn, said, ”Ghania, isn’t that your sister?”

Everyone at McKinney’s No. 1 Middle School had heard about the fake heiress incident in Ghania’s family, and they had also heard that the biological parents of the fake heiress had shown up, who were poor teachers from Hillwood County.

Nathalie Quinlan hadn’t gone back to Hillwood County, so why did she come here?

Ghania was equally surprised and opened her mouth wide, not expecting to encounter the person she had just met at the Waterfront Pavilion here again.

What to do, she’d already called Zayn over...

...

Below, the current was swift, and Nathalie Quinlan realized after getting into the water that it wasn’t so easy to bring someone up.

The child who had fallen into the water had become disoriented after nearly drowning and kept grabbing at her neck, thrashing about. If this continued, they would both be dragged into the vortex created by the current.

”Move again, move again and I’ll hit you!”

Nathalie Quinlan’s neck was grabbed, and the pain burned behind her ears. In the water, she couldn’t calm down the panicked child, so she gritted her teeth and threatened in a deep, intimidating tone.

The child’s eyes, wet and shiny like beautiful black gems, seemed to have heard her. The grip on her lessened. The child’s face was covered in mud from the water, making it hard to see clearly.

Seizing the moment when his movements lessened, Nathalie Quinlan slapped him on the back of the neck, knocking him out neatly. With one arm, she held his limp body and swam toward the shore...

Several times, waves hit them, and with a person in her arms, she had no choice but to gulp down several mouthfuls of river water!

...

On the bridge.

Zayn Fisher arrived first.

With an anxious expression, he quickly squeezed through the crowd and saw Ghania and her friends in the midst of the onlookers, striding towards them. He grabbed Ghania’s arm, his handsome face filled with concern as he checked her over.

”Ghania, are you all right?”

Seeing him arrive, Ghania’s lips curled into a shy, sweet smile, and she shook her head, ”I’m fine.”

Zayn breathed a sigh of relief, ”Good to hear that.”

Then he greeted Ghania’s friends, ”Hello, I want to thank you for taking care of Ghania just now. Let’s all have dinner together later tonight.”

Ghania’s classmates immediately brightened, eagerly accepting, ”Thank you, Senior Zayn.”
