The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 8: Chapter 8: The Trashy Girl is Pretending to be Weak Again_1

She had always been frail since she was little. Zayn Fisher didn’t think much of it and glanced at the adults who were chatting ahead, saying, ”Do you need to go to the hospital to have a look?”

Ghania Quinlan had merely lied casually and was not really feeling unwell. She immediately stopped him, grabbing his arm, and said in a muffled voice, ”No need, Zayn. It’s just an old problem of mine. Maybe I just felt a little suffocated from staying inside for too long, and I need to breathe some fresh air outside. I will be fine in a moment.”

Zayn Fisher looked at her with concern, gently soothing her with his hand, speaking in a softer voice, ”If you’re not feeling well, you should tell me earlier. Mrs. Tucker and the others are not petty people.”

Ghania Quinlan looked at his handsome face, and the knot in her heart because of Nathalie Quinlan began to ease. She sweetly and shyly held onto his hand, ”Mm.”

After huming in agreement, it was as if she remembered something and spoke up pretentiously, ”I saw my sister just now. How did she end up at the Waterfront Pavilion? I remember Dad saying her biological parents are from Hillwood County. There is only one train per day from McKinney to Hillwood. Could it be that she didn’t manage to get a train ticket?”

Hearing this, Zayn Fisher also furrowed his eyebrows, looking back at the Waterfront Pavilion. He didn’t take it to heart too much, ”Perhaps.”

Ghania Quinlan bit her pink lip, hesitantly saying, ”Actually, today before my sister left, she had a bit of a fallout with grandma, and she didn’t take the money Dad gave her. She seems to think that we want to drive her away! Plus, there’s the matter between you and me... I... Zayn, am I being too greedy? I shouldn’t fight with my sister for you.”

”It has nothing to do with you!” Zayn Fisher saw her eyes misting up and felt a pang in his heart. He quickly said, ”I was the one who fell for you first. Nathalie... she will bless us.”

Ghania Quinlan was always frail and weak, and the only brave thing she ever did was to be with him. As a man, he could not shirk his responsibility.

Without his care, he simply could not be at ease knowing how fragile Ghania Quinlan was. As for Nathalie Quinlan, all he could say was sorry.

”Mm.”

Ghania Quinlan saw that he spoke of Nathalie with an indifferent look, void of any redundant emotions, and her stifled heart felt much better. She softly responded with a sound.

Yet in her heart, she pondered the reason behind Nathalie Quinlan’s visit to the Waterfront Pavilion.

It might be just as grandma and the others said, Nathalie’s visit here was merely a coincidence.

...

She composed her emotions, her lips curling into a smile. Suddenly, out of the corner of her eye, she caught sight of someone emerging from another direction.

Nathalie?!

Nathalie Quinlan was wearing the clothes she had worn earlier in the day, a T-shirt covered with a striped shirt, paired with light blue denim shorts, revealing her long, straight legs that were dazzlingly white.

Her face was equally striking, with dark eyes like ink and fluttering eyelashes, as if she hid mysterious hooks that captured the gaze.

Zayn Fisher evidently saw Nathalie Quinlan as well, and exclaimed in surprise, ”Nathalie?”

Besides Nathalie, he noticed others as well.

Jeff Quinlan and the rest, walking ahead, stopped in their tracks upon hearing his voice and turned to look.

Adelia Tucker, who had been walking ahead supported by her daughter, suddenly stopped talking to Cindy Lawrence when she saw someone.

She let her daughter help her over to Mr. Zachmann and greeted him cheerfully, ”Mr. Zachmann, what brings you to McKinney?”

Mr. Zachmann?

The Quinlan Family stood frozen in shock!

Mrs. Fisher, thinking of something, changed her expression slightly, her eyes swiftly scanning over the Zachmann Family members.

The Zachmanns?

She had heard that surname before. Could it be those Zachmanns she was thinking of?

The social circles of McKinney are also divided into ranks, and the Quinlan Family had just managed to step into this circle, barely qualifying for the ninth rank at best. The Fisher Family was much better off than the Quinlan Family, with people in government positions.
