The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 27: Chapter 27: The Damn Volkswagen Face_1

He didn’t want his own dad to stay a second longer, waving his hand and urging everyone to leave quickly.

”Hey, get going, will you? Aren’t you relieved with me here? If that’s not enough, there’s Amadeus. With him around, you can definitely be at ease, right?”

Mr. Zachmann and the others were hustled onto the car by him, and Audrick Zachmann watched as the car sped away.

With a smile returning to his face, he grabbed Nathalie Quinlan by the shoulder again, slinging an arm around her in a chummy brotherly fashion, ”Alright, big brother is going to take you clothes shopping!”

...

Audrick Zachmann was highly efficient, and two hours later, he drove back to their place with Nathalie Quinlan carrying bags and bags of purchases.

As the car entered a row of villas, Nathalie’s eyes grew darker and her face expressed more and more interest!

She knew this villa area; it had just opened for sale when Jeff Quinlan made a large sum of money and planned to upgrade from a small split-level home to a villa for the five-member family.

They had set their sights on this place at that time.

She remembered the day Jeff Quinlan and Emilia Sullivan took Ghania Quinlan, the three of them happily went house hunting, leaving her alone at home.

Just the day before, she had drawn blood from Ghania and could only rest at home to recuperate; when Jeff and the others didn’t return all day, she was left at home, starving the entire day.

When Jeff returned with Ghania that night at ten o’clock, the three of them had already eaten dinner outside...

Nathalie Quinlan withdrew her gaze from the play of light and shadow on the landscaping, a trace of mockery crossed her eyes, her face was calm, revealing a touch of wild carelessness, no longer showing signs of sorrow!

”We’re here.”

The car came to a stop at that moment.

Audrick was the first to get out, opening the car door for her, and retrieving over a dozen paper bags from the trunk, all clothes that he had just bought for Nathalie.

”This is a property I invested in in McKinney; I bought it but haven’t stayed here more than a few times. You’ll stay with me here for now. I will ask them to arrange fewer engagements for me this year, to free up more time to spend with you.”

Nathalie got out of the car behind him and watched him bustling around. His handsome face floated before her eyes several times, and she couldn’t help but give in to her curiosity to stop him, ”Um, big brother...”

When Audrick heard her call him big brother, his handsome face nearly split with joy, the tinted purple lock of hair on his head seeming to strut with pride, his peach blossom eyes twinkling at her, ”What’s the matter? Tired? Hungry? Or is it that the place where I applied the medicine on your neck is hurting again?”

Nathalie: ”...”

”None of them?” Audrick was exceptionally patient, ”Then you have something to tell me?”

”Go ahead! You can say anything!”

Nathalie couldn’t quell her curiosity, ”Have I seen you somewhere before?”

”Met me? What do you mean?”

Nathalie, hands in her pockets, pursed her lips thoughtfully, ”I mean... have we met before somewhere.”

”I think you look familiar.”

She had wanted to ask this question before, she always felt that she had seen Audrick’s face somewhere, but couldn’t quite remember where!

Audrick froze, pointing to his nose, ”You don’t know where you’ve seen me before?”

”...” Nathalie raised her eyebrows slightly, her clear, dark eyes seemingly questioning the sense of his question.

Audrick’s handsome face turned from black to red, then from red to blue.

Which damn team told him that he was now a hot top star, famous to the point where everyone in the country would recognize his face, with fans ranging from 80 years old down to 8...

So, the entire nation’s people didn’t include his sister?

Audrick wasn’t giving up, pointing to his handsome face again, he persisted, ”Nathalie, do you really not know who I am?”

Standing without form, Nathalie’s pretty face was calm as she nodded decisively, ”I don’t.”

All of a sudden, the shopping bags in Audrick’s hands felt incredibly heavy. He met Nathalie’s starry eyes filled with curiosity, and struggled to say, ”Perhaps I have a Volkswagen face!”
