Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 799: Chapter 237: Ultimate Power

Three days later in the morning.

Chen Ming looked over at the Insect Queen as usual.

The appearance of that piece of flesh cultivated a few days ago had already undergone significant changes.

The originally messy muscle tissues and superfluous scales had all disappeared, and the entire piece of flesh was now covered by a new shell that combined the advantages of the Insect Race’s carapace and the Aurora Wind Spirit’s scales.

It looked much more pleasing than it did a few days ago.

It was evident that after yesterday’s deep repairs, the survival ability of this sample had been perfected.

The Insect Queen also noticed that Chen Ming was paying attention, and it immediately controlled the unique organs derived from the Aurora Wind Spirit Gene in this flesh, generating a large amount of plasma around this piece of flesh.

Amidst the brilliant hues of the plasma, the intact piece of flesh contrasted sharply with the surrounding environment, continually destroyed by the plasma, which was covered by the Insect Queen’s fungal mat.

Chen Ming also noticed that the plasma existed with very high density around the piece of flesh.

However, the carapace on the flesh could not completely protect it, so some muscle tissues and mucous tissues were still directly exposed to the plasma.

Even so, the plasma did not cause any harm to the piece of flesh.

This situation clearly indicated to Chen Ming that not only the outer carapace, but other tissues of this piece of flesh also had a certain degree of plasma resistance.

The Insect Queen continued to demonstrate in front of Chen Ming, subjecting the piece of flesh to tests like heavy crushing, strong acid and alkali corrosion, explosions of unstable energy crystals, and various attacks typical of the Insect Race.

It could be seen that the basic physical strength of these tissues had been reinforced to the extreme.

The efforts Chen Ming put in over the past few days had not been in vain.

Not only had plasma resistance been ensured as before, but they also possessed stronger resistance to other attacks, which is evolution after genetic fusion.

However, there is one issue now.

The color of the carapace covering this piece of flesh.

At this time, the carapace of the flesh was different from the original pitch-black carapace of the Insect Race; it had undergone some noticeable changes after Chen Ming used Spiritual Energy.

Due to the Aurora Wind Spirit’s scales being colorful like aurora, after genetic fusion, the flesh’s carapace also became multicolored.

Even the muscles beneath the carapace showed different color traits.

Under the influence of plasma, it flickered akin to LED lights.

Fortunately, the color traits displayed by the carapace and muscles are not significant genes, and the Insect Queen quickly changed them back to the previous pitch-black sinister appearance according to Chen Ming’s request.

Although the carapace on this flesh piece can’t appear sinister, there is not much of an issue; at least the other Insect Race members maintain their expected appearance.

And at this point.

Chen Ming’s research and assurance of the specialized combat individuals’ survival capability were considered complete.

The Insect Race’s bodies could already survive in space environments, and having acquired the ability to resist plasma attacks.

Survival was certainly not something Chen Ming needed to worry about next.

Additionally, the genes optimized by Chen Ming’s Spiritual Energy on this piece of flesh had also been fully acquired by the Insect Queen.

The Insect Queen could manufacture similar entities at any time.

This means Chen Ming could now have the Insect Queen replace some of the genes constituting body tissues for all the Insect Race, elevating the average combat ability of all Insect Race members to a new level.

Chen Ming is now eagerly anticipating these insects capable of withstanding plasma attacks appearing on ground battlefields.

Moreover, there are some additional by-products from Chen Ming’s research this time.

Inspirations gained during the previous attempts by the Insect Queen to create hybrid genes that ended in failure.

Applicable as a weapon for the Insect Queen’s Biological Spaceship.

The Insect Queen’s Biological Spaceship is the prototype for the current bio-ships that the Insect Race can cultivate.

And as spaceship weapons on the Insect Queen’s ship, besides the inefficient and long-existent acidic spray sacs.

There is another, which comprises some insect eggs soon to hatch located at the Biological Spaceship’s side hatches.

The Biological Spaceship can fire these eggs at high speed, and these eggs will hatch during their flight.

The hatched insects can rapidly grow into swarms capable of disrupting or damaging the Spaceship Shield Armor, continuing to speed towards enemies in space with the power of the launch, similar to assault boats.

The first generation Insect Queen originally used this method to replace a discarded spaceship from the Space Station with a pirate ship, responding to a distress signal to evacuate to outside the Empire.

This type of flying insect was always a type of Insect Race combat unit that Chen Ming valued highly.

After the Energy Crystal, which concentrates vast amounts of energy, was developed, he had the Insect Queen breed several generations of more powerful flying insects.

And during this research of plasma genes, when he saw the plasma burn the insects that failed to be manufactured by the Insect Queen, a new idea popped into his head.

He could breed some plasma suicide flying insects purely for self-destruction.

Comprehensively abandoning all other abilities, including self-protection, and focusing on enhancing the plasma manufacturing capability of these plasma suicide flying insects.
