Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 775: Chapter 231: Gambling Agreement

The researcher suspected of being a Psychic looked at Chen Ming with an apologetic expression.

After questioning Chen Ming, he added: ”If you have seen my document, you should be able to tell that the figures in my document are basically based on the data derived from the efficiency of extreme training of normal Spiritual Energy.”

”I’ve heard you’re a member of the Spiritual Ability Association. You may not understand some content in the document, but you should notice that the document’s estimated values are far less than your current Spiritual Power total and recovery speed.”

”I hope you can provide some reasonable explanation through the evidence of theoretical limits recorded in my document.”

The researcher was quite polite, but Chen Ming didn’t want to be polite now: ”You want a reasonable explanation? Then I think what you wrote is problematic.”

The researcher was not angry; instead, he said to Chen Ming: ”Where is the problem? I’m all ears.”

”Basically all of it has problems.”

The researcher felt a bit embarrassed, but he controlled himself and spoke in a calm tone: ”Mr. Chen Ming, we all know that the Spiritual Ability Association advocates the natural development of Psychics. You may not know that the systematic way to train Spiritual Power is meditation?”

”Psychics who haven’t systematically studied meditation can only train Spiritual Energy by exhausting Spiritual Power through the use of Spiritual Energy.”

”And by using Spiritual Energy to consume Spiritual Power in this manner, once Spiritual Power is depleted to about 20%, this excessive consumption will have some negative impacts on consciousness.”

”This can lead to extreme fatigue in the human consciousness for the remaining time of the day, and this state might carry on to the next day, causing distraction, difficulty in focusing Spiritual Power, and difficulty in using Spiritual Energy.”

”It can even result in a situation where the efficiency of training Spiritual Power on the second day is nearly zero, requiring complete rest for recovery.”

At this time, Chen Ming suddenly hesitated to speak as the researcher’s words differed from his own experience.

However, since the researcher appeared to still want to continue speaking, Chen Ming didn’t interrupt.

He waited for the researcher to continue: ”Even if before resting on that day, Spiritual Power was restored to its maximum value through self-recovery or drug stimulation.”

”But as long as the Spiritual Power declines to a very low level, the next day will still be exhausting, and the effect of consuming Spiritual Power for training the second time will be far inferior to the first, and there is no way to enhance the training effect through repeated depletion of Spiritual Power.”

”According to my calculations, even if you consume 90% of your Spiritual Power daily for training, and each day’s training effect is optimal.”

”Also, without considering Spiritual Strength, only looking at the quantity of Spiritual Power, your Spiritual Power is insufficient to reach such levels.”

”Not to mention what kind of Spiritual Power recovery speed would be needed to restore such enormous Spiritual Power.”

”How do you explain this? What’s problematic about these contents?”

”...”

After the researcher finished speaking, Chen Ming did not immediately respond but instead recalled carefully when he first awakened to Spiritual Energy upon landing on Rimu Star.

It seems he exhausted his Spiritual Power completely every night before sleep, sometimes even to an overflowing extent.

The training efficiency from such a regimen seems already beyond what this researcher described as normal.

To the point that Chen Ming suddenly felt like laughing, but he restrained himself and said: ”Please wait a moment, I have a question to ask.”

”Not through meditation, but through the method of directly consuming Spiritual Power for training. I feel the closer the Spiritual Power is to depletion, the better the effect, right?”

The researcher did not refuse to answer the question because of Chen Ming’s attitude but explained: ”That’s right, but the additional training obtained from continuing to consume the last 20% or so of Spiritual Power doesn’t compare to the whole day’s loss of training efficiency the next day.”

”So even if someone uses this method instead of meditation to train Spiritual Power, generally no one would try to exploit the efficiency of training that last bit of Spiritual Power.”

”Only individuals with better talent can bear more Spiritual Power consumption, and would choose to intentionally consume more Spiritual Power for training, which is why I set it to 90% in my calculations.”

”I see.”

His patient explanation made Chen Ming feel a little embarrassed, and his tone became a bit softer, no longer targeting the researcher Lou Wei had brought.

”Then let me correct a mistake I just made; your content poses no problems for others, only for me.”

”Please, go ahead.”

Chen Ming organized his words slightly and said: ”That’s the way it is; I’ve exhausted my Spiritual Power completely almost every day in the past.”

The researcher remained silent for a long time before saying: ”Complete exhaustion of Spiritual Power doesn’t only lead to mental fatigue, distraction, and inability to use Spiritual Energy the next day.”

”Such conditions can cause self-induced Mind Shock in the brain, leading to a Psychic lapse into a coma.”

”Depending on the quantity and strength of the overflowed Spiritual Power when exhausted, the duration of the Spiritual Energy coma ranges from a few minutes to several days.”

”If the coma period extends further, it might damage the Enlightenment Nerve, even causing severe brain damage.”
