Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 796: Chapter 236: Attempts of the Special Operations Unit_2

So now he did not linger further and directly sought out the newly acquired genes that the Insect Queen obtained after acquiring the Aurora Wind Spirit’s genes.

The giant butterfly, something the Insect Queen has eaten a few of in the past.

Thus, after absorbing the Aurora Wind Spirit’s genes, the Insect Queen now had a few more genes. After a slight filtering, Chen Ming found those unique genes that belonged to the Aurora Wind Spirit.

[Plasma Storage Chamber], [Plasma Magnetic Induction Crystal Cell], [Strong Magnetic Field Control Brain], [Plasma Isolation Scale], and [Plasma Isolation Membrane].

Chen Ming roughly glanced over and then switched his perspective to a regular insect under the Insect Queen.

After acquiring the genes, the Insect Queen had already actually manufactured a new creature with these unique abilities.

Since it was purely for testing, what the Insect Queen manufactured now looked like nothing more than a ten-meter-diameter, simple mass of flesh possessing the ability to generate and control plasma.

After Chen Ming helped deliver a Dusk Spaceship of Destroyer Level, which was damaged and had not been repaired yet during recent exploration missions.

That mass of flesh, imbued with the Aurora Wind Spirit’s traits, generated plasma glowing with aurora-like, magnificent colors on the spaceship.

The already damaged spaceship system was unable to withstand the continuous plasma assault; the shield quickly collapsed in just a matter of tens of seconds during its contact with the plasma.

The armor, in its subsequent contact with the plasma, persisted for a slightly longer time but was penetrated within a minute, allowing the plasma to damage the internal ship structure.

After all, it’s technology that could be used by Dusk on Brilliant Level ships; even plasma generated by a single creature cannot be underestimated in power.

As the spaceship got destroyed, the surrounding area where it was docked was also continuously damaged by the plasma.

A region emanating with intense heat and aurora-like colorful magnificence gradually formed around the spaceship.

It wasn’t until several minutes later that this distinct scene gradually vanished.

Many plasmatic elements dissipated through reactions with the spaceship and other objects.

Yet more plasma was absorbed into the body by the mass of flesh manufactured by the Insect Queen, controlled by magnetic field power, storing it in specially designated plasma chambers.

This plasma, capable of destroying spaceships, if used on biological and ground combat units, would have an almost sovereign level of destructive power.

At this moment, Chen Ming suddenly remembered something he had been wanting to do all along.

Create a powerful special combat individual for the Insect Race, similar to the Purgatory Demon King of the Mechanical Race.

Chen Ming had been attempting this before, but the current genes of the Insect Queen made it difficult to match the power of the Purgatory Core.

But now, from the Aurora Wind Spirit’s gene, he saw the hope of creating special combat individuals.

Plasma, in space, is considered a decent weapon, while on the ground, it’s oppressive to the same ground units.

If this dangerous substance could be controlled at will, catching up with the footsteps of the Purgatory Core might not be impossible.

It just might work.

Furthermore, Chen Ming had an interesting idea, an idea that he might be using soon, and he must give it a try.

But time was a bit tight.

Researching this definitely requires a considerable amount of time.

Originally during this period, due to lack of time for the main body, Chen Ming was forced to arrange a tightly scheduled timetable to manage tasks.

Only after having a surrogate to share some tasks did it slightly improve.

And now, recently, several new long-term tasks have piled on.

It must be known that the Brilliant side has completed the second jump and has started to establish a second relay point.

There is a heap of matters requiring the main body’s assistance to handle.

The main body is already busy enough.

And here, the surrogate, aside from having to learn command techniques during the day, also has to conduct research at night, busy to death.

Adding a new task onto this would be a bit overwhelming.

However, after carefully considering the benefits of this research for himself, Chen Ming decided to find time to include this in the daily tasks earnestly.

He must create a special combat unit for the Insect Race.

And such a special combat unit must at least meet three demands.

Survival, activity, and combat.

Ensuring the survival requirements for a special combat unit is simple, yet not simple.

Because plasma, as a mass of highly destructive charged particles, presents significant damage not only to enemies but also to itself.

Thus, the special combat unit must have the ability to survive within plasma.

Additionally, the special combat unit cannot merely use the Aurora Wind Spirit’s genes directly.

Though the Aurora Wind Spirit naturally possesses the abilities Chen Ming needs, the species itself is very gentle in nature, and its scales and protective membranes are only for preventing plasma damage from affecting itself.

This kind of protection is almost ineffective against other attacks; even slightly sharper stone spears could potentially pierce their bodies directly.

Of course, provided they could hit, and the stone spear isn’t annihilated by the plasma entwined around the Aurora Wind Spirit.
