Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 753: After the modification: Chapter 225 Stepping into the Trap_2

”After all, if Cheng Xinghai is here, it means at least one of us is here as well.”

Cheng Xinghe pointed at Chen Ming and himself: ”Like me, like you, or even both of us.”

”The Government Army would seize the opportunity to attack, and if they win, it would be like exchanging a prisoner for one or even two of our people, which would definitely be a gain for them.”

”From the original four versus five to four versus three, I feel they wouldn’t miss this opportunity.”

”However, if they really give up, then there’s nothing we can do; just treat it as an exercise later.”

After answering Chen Ming’s question, Cheng Xinghe added, ”Oh, by the way, Song Pu wants me to ask you if the Space Station can be controlled.”

”Yes, and controlling the Space Station means I have absolute control over everything related to it. Any spies shouldn’t even think about causing trouble on the Space Station, but the scale of this...”

Chen Ming pointed outside at the huge port and the Space Station with such a port and said, ”In one day, it can only be either the Space Station or the fleet, not both.”

”Then prioritize the fleet; the fleet is the most important. With your Spiritual Energy, I can’t even imagine how much the fleet’s strength would be amplified.”

Cheng Xinghe’s compliment was accepted by Chen Ming, who smiled and said, ”I think you’ll find out in this simulation.”

Cheng Xinghe also smiled.

After the Shuttle Boat landed, Chen Ming began engaging with the ships belonging to the Rebel Army’s main fleet.

As Chen Ming arrived at the Space Station,

Not far from the frontline Star System where Chen Ming was, on the edge of the ceasefire zone within a military Star System in the Galor-3 Star Zone,

Di Jia, one of Chen Ming’s adversaries in this simulation, was there.

He and Cheng Xinghe were both near-graduates in military command specialization and had similar roles in their teams.

At the moment, he was in his office, communicating with their team’s chief commander via a special terminal.

”Confirm, are we going? Both our fleet and the enemy’s are near me now, and if we go, it would only take half an hour.”

The chief commander’s reply appeared quickly on the terminal: ”Of course, we must go, not just for rescuing Cheng Xinghai.”

”You also saw the information returned by spies over the past few days. The consumption of key resources in the entire Galor-4 has suddenly increased by two or three times, yet only four days have passed since the start.”

Although Di Jia already knew this, hearing it again, he couldn’t help but instinctively ask, ”Is this really possible?”

”The referees haven’t stopped the game, so it’s possible. Although your mentor and Vice Admiral Bai have conflicts, you’d better not doubt Vice Admiral Bai’s character.”

Di Jia’s face showed an expression of frustration, and he didn’t dare to say a word.

”Try to avoid getting involved in such matters.”

The chief commander, understanding Di Jia’s difficulty, casually changed the subject back, saying, ”Let’s not talk about outside matters. In short, Chen Ming’s presence forces us to take this action.”

”We started by losing one person, and our industrial capacity has been completely overtaken within a few days. In a few more days, it’ll crush us directly. At such a huge disadvantage, if we want to win, we must give up everything, face death to be reborn.”

”Sometimes, actively appearing weak, even making ourselves weak, is a necessary step before victory.”

Di Jia’s previously frustrated expression gradually calmed, and he said, ”I understand; I’ll do as you request.”

”Alright, remember to keep an eye on the terminal these two days and coordinate with your teammates’ actions. Do you remember your teammates’ tasks?”

”Yes, they will use planted spies to attempt a rescue of Cheng Xinghai; if unable to rescue, they will directly assassinate her.”

”My task is to jump to the enemy’s face with the fleet during my teammates’ attempts, and launch a surprise attack on Cheng Xinghe’s fleet’s position.”

”Correct.”

The chief commander responded and emphasized again, ”Remember, the spies detecting Cheng Xinghe’s fleet location means it’s definitely a trap, a 100% trap, but we have no choice but to step into it.”

”Find a way to come back alive. If you can return, it will greatly benefit our future actions.”

Though the chief commander said this, Di Jia had no confidence in returning alive, saying, ”Unfortunately, the Government Army’s soldiers are too weak. Morale and faith were entirely crushed after the ceasefire.”

”Without someone to personally command, I doubt they’re even fit to warm up for Cheng Xinghe. Surrender or mutiny is possible. If I were leading from the rear, we wouldn’t be in such a predicament.”

The chief commander wasn’t influenced by these natural limitations and spoke quite calmly, ”This is the issue with the background setting.”

”But I think if we were the Rebel Army and the opposite was the Government Army, within less than half a month, we’d be crushed by their much larger forces on the frontlines.”

”Chen Ming’s capability would absolutely ensure the well-being of the four Star Zones under such circumstances, and after eliminating us, the Gallo 4 Star Zone would probably fare even better.”

Information from spies in Galor-4 flashed through Di Jia’s mind, showing the terrifying growth in productivity, something that didn’t seem achievable by any one person.

”It turns out the Government Army is slightly better for us.”
