Chapter 780: Chapter 232 DP-2_2

”With current medical technology, a single pill can solve all the side effects, and thus the pill essentially has no side effects.”

The stimulant used in scientific research can accelerate thought, and thought is closely connected to the brain and consciousness.

Chen Ming immediately considered the potential for the development of this drug.

He put down the small bottle and pushed it in front of Bai Quan, tapping the cap and asking, ”In that case, what’s the effect of this stuff on Psychics? What are the side effects?”

Bai Quan opened the cap of the medicine bottle, took out a pill, and said, ”Let me put it this way, this drug works well for us ordinary people, but for you Psychics, its effectiveness is still a bit light.”

”So currently, a hot research direction in Psychic drugs is this thought-accelerating medicine.”

”Did I mention before that you should get a doctor to make a list of medications for you? I’ll arrange it tomorrow, and once you see it, you’ll roughly understand the difference between Psychic’s medications and ordinary people’s medications in terms of thought.”

”Alright.”

After receiving Chen Ming’s response, Bai Quan directly stuffed the freshly extracted pill into his mouth and continued dealing with the breakfast in front of him, seeming temporarily uninterested in continuing the conversation.

Chen Ming then took the initiative to bring up a topic and asked, ”How will Lou Wei be handled afterwards?”

”There are regulatory departments within the Fourteenth Legion, and I’ve just submitted evidence to them. I estimate Lou Wei has already been controlled by the regulators.”

”But he can still contact other people to have his associates help him get out, so he won’t be entirely removed from his position. We’ll definitely see him again.”

”After he goes through the necessary punishment procedures and chooses the colonial site, we can prepare for subsequent validation.”

”You have no issues with the colonial site, right?”

Chen Ming showed a relieved expression and said, ”For me, such a purely beneficial matter, how could I have any issues?”

”That’s good.”

Bai Quan saw this and didn’t ask further, instead talking about another matter.

”The compensation plan for the research results you lost in the simulation will need to wait awhile longer. We’ll need professionals to assess your losses.”

”I estimate you’ll need to provide some initial content of your research for review. These people will all sign confidentiality agreements and won’t leak your research results.”

”However, because the simulation data is lost, you’ll need to prepare those data anew now.”

Chen Ming immediately agreed, ”Preparing new data is definitely not a problem, but what if Lou Wei delays things and claims my data is newly created?”

Bai Quan didn’t answer but suddenly asked another question, ”Did Xing Hai tell you anything?”

Chen Ming thought back to what Cheng Xinghai had told him earlier and replied, ”Yes, she said some of my data might be recoverable.”

”This recoverable part can help prove you’ve conducted the research. If you’ve done it, Lou Wei must compensate based on the research’s value and the delay time.”

”The only problem now is the recovery time which might be uncertain.”

Chen Ming immediately seized the key issue and asked, ”So what if the data can’t be recovered forever? It’s unreasonable just to take my word for it, right?”

”Of course not.”

Bai Quan promptly rejected Chen Ming’s idea, saying, ”But just like you said earlier, if the data recovery time exceeds the time required to conduct experiments and yield results anew, and you even have time to create new results, then recovering the data becomes pointless.”

”Therefore, if the data cannot be repaired in a short time, generally a timeframe based on the original duration is given to research facilities that lost data to restart the research — twenty-four days based on the simulation progress.”

”Within these twenty-four days, any new research results you produce can be counted toward the lost data as part of the compensation.”

”After all, time is also quite valuable.”

”For example, take Antimatter Technology.”

”If Sinda Corporation delayed its research during the last phase of Antimatter Technology development due to someone’s mistake internally, costing them twenty-four days, and during those days another company or force came up with the Antimatter Technology, thus acquiring specialization in this technology.”

”Imagine what would happen internally at Sinda Corporation?”

Chen Ming didn’t even have to think before saying, ”Then some people’s heads would probably be at risk.”

”That’s the idea, so specific compensation amounts need to be assessed by specialists to avoid overcompensating or causing significant losses for the ones losing time.”

”Certainly, your subsequent research results are calculated based on simulation conditions; anything unattainable in the simulation won’t be accounted for. Only the experiments that can be conducted within the simulation will count.”

Chen Ming thought a bit about Bai Quan’s estimation plan for losses and said, ”Even if it’s like this, it’s still quite exaggerated. Many research experiments are based on simulations. What you’re saying makes me almost hope the data can’t be restored.”

”Whether the data can be restored mainly depends on luck. If it can’t be repaired, then this way can be used.”

Chen Ming suddenly sensed a hidden meaning in what Bai Quan had said and asked, ”Mainly depends on luck, so secondarily upon what?”

”I don’t know either.”

Bai Quan said this and exchanged a glance with Chen Ming, both of them smilingly.
