Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 798: Chapter 236: Attempts of the Special Operations Unit_4

For instance, the Insect Queen, after absorbing part of a creature, experiences some genetic alterations, and can undergo deep repair once again.

Another example is the chaotic fusion product of genes from the Aurora Wind Spirit and the Insect Race’s black carapace created by the Insect Queen.

Moreover, Chen Ming didn’t even need the genes of the Aurora Wind Spirit’s scales and protective membrane.

Because the effect of deep maintenance is like a barrel with one long plank and many short planks.

It doesn’t patch the short with the long but instead uses Chen Ming’s excess consumption of spiritual power to elevate the short planks to the level of the long one.

Thus, to adapt to the presence of plasma,

Chen Ming felt his spiritual energy should be able to deeply repair the original carapace of the Insect Race and areas like the mucous membranes inside the easily exposed mouthparts, making them directly resistant to plasma.

And the newly deep-repaired carapace would definitely be recorded and passed on by the Insect Queen, just like the previous creations Chen Ming made using spiritual energy from the Insect Race.

Chen Ming’s concept for the survival abilities of special operation units was now fundamentally clear.

He had also completely transmitted this idea to the Insect Queen.

Over an hour later, just as Chen Ming was about to go to sleep,

good news arrived from the Insect Queen.

It had managed to create a genetic organism with Aurora Wind Spirit control over plasma-related tissues.

And injected it into a mass of distorted flesh that had been violently mixed with unrefined plasma protective genes and Insect Race’s carapace genes.

This mass, unable to move at all, was covered with sharp excrescences and incongruously sized scale wings, secreting nauseating purple viscous fluid.

This was barely achieved after the Insect Queen had failed dozens of times.

The chaotic genes limited the Insect Queen to this extent at the moment.

However, at least it was still alive, and the nerves of the flesh mass restricted its instinct to use plasma-manufacturing organs, preventing it from burning itself upon creation.

This gave Chen Ming time to use his spiritual energy.

Just at the time to rest.

Chen Ming did a simple wash-up, lay on his bed, and closed his eyes.

Then he used the deep repair spiritual energy on the flesh mass.

In a bout of severe headache Chen Ming hadn’t experienced in a long time, he fell into a coma.

While the flesh mass, influenced by his spiritual energy, gradually evolved towards the direction of a normal creature.

By dawn.

Chen Ming got up feeling refreshed.

The first thing he did was check the Insect Queen’s side.

Unexpectedly, the flesh mass still looked the same to the naked eye, showing no visible changes.

”What’s going on?”

The Insect Queen immediately transmitted some memory content to Chen Ming.

Last night, after Chen Ming fell into a coma from using his spiritual energy, it indeed acted on the hideous flesh mass.

But his spiritual energy gradually dissipated after a period of time.

It wasn’t due to any interference, but simply because there wasn’t enough spiritual power to sustain the spiritual energy fluctuation.

This meant Chen Ming’s spiritual power was insufficient to transform the flesh mass into its intended form in one go.

The lingering headache from last night was still vivid, and the troubles caused by gene chaos were far more complex than Chen Ming anticipated.

Moreover, the involvement of Aurora Wind Spirit genes probably contributed, as deep repair for the Insect Queen was much simpler before.

It seemed he would need to perform another deep repair, otherwise, the previous expenditure of spiritual power would be wasted.

To be honest, the amount of spiritual power used this time slightly exceeded Chen Ming’s expectations.

But since the consumption of spiritual energy was so immense, it meant that if his attempt were successful, the result would be unimaginably impactful.

Impatient as he was, Chen Ming knew time wouldn’t speed up just because he wanted it to.

Deep repair should still be done diligently at night.

Now, Chen Ming could only commend the Insect Queen, cut off communication, and turned his attention to the terminal,

which contained a document sent by Bai Quan over an hour ago.

Chen Ming took a look; this was the report Bai Quan mentioned last night that he had to read every day.

The content included, but was not limited to, current affairs within the Fourteenth Legion, essentially condensing all the key information about the Star Realm into this report, greatly aiding in understanding external information.

The main content of today’s report focused primarily on the gamble agreement Chen Ming and Bai Quan signed with Lou Wei, as well as yesterday’s news about Zuo Jing infiltrating the Fourteenth Legion Branch.

As Chen Ming was checking more detailed content.

Bai Quan suddenly pushed the door open, and seeing Chen Ming holding the terminal, instantly understood what he was doing.

”How’s it going?”

”Pretty detailed; I’ve basically got a handle on various aspects of the news, but I see a lot of false information unfavorable to you being spread around; aren’t you going to do something about it?”

”Don’t worry, it’s not a big deal; for now, let’s continue with the lessons today.”
