Chapter 757: Chapter 226: Dramatic Changes in the Situation_2

”The ones who should be in a hurry to launch the next war are our opponents.”

”They started off so behind, and they just gave away some of their advantages. If they’re not anxious, I’d have to question their sanity.”

”Therefore, I think the best approach now is to refrain from action. Let the general maintain a defensive posture on the front lines, while we continue to expand our industrial colonies in the rear.”

”Although there’s a limit to the expansion scale, we must secure these advantages before we reach that limit.”

”Accumulating strength steadily through development and finally crushing the opponent head-on should be the most secure way.”

Although Song Pu and Hong Guanghong’s ideas are somewhat similar, Song Pu’s thinking leans more toward the political aspect, while Hong Guanghong is more inclined to rely on a straightforward overwhelming force.

It all sounds fine, but Chen Ming has not expressed an opinion at this time.

At this moment, Dong Miao, who has been working quietly on logistics with few words, spoke up: ”I think attacking is still better.”

”Whether we can develop steadily depends not on us, but on the opponent. If they ignore their territory and directly engage in a confrontation, disrupting our industrial base to the point that we can’t sustain, then what?”

”Let’s not forget, our goal isn’t to annihilate the Government Army, but to hold out for a month and then pass the encirclement test.”

”But if we don’t preemptively beat the Government Army to the point where they can’t interfere, they might stab us in the back at a critical moment.”

”It’s best to eliminate all the unstable factors in advance.”

”Especially now, when the Government Army is at its lowest moral point, it’s the perfect time to strike a drowning dog.”

”Of course, the rear needs to be secured, our own development is non-negotiable.”

”Then we surely must put full pressure on the Government Army in terms of public opinion.”

”We’re not divided; we’re still under one Empire’s framework, and public opinion is quite valuable.”

”Moreover, there are places where we can exert influence on our opponents without war.”

”Like the simplest one, assassination.”

”I believe we have the opportunity to carry out such actions now.”

”Surely we can’t just sit and wait for them to die on their own, can we? We ought to launch an attack, fully suppressing the opponent.”

Chen Ming suddenly realized that the usually quiet Dong Miao seemed quite fierce now.

All actions were proactive, rather than just passive ideas.

Of course, it seems Dong Miao indeed has the capital to be fierce.

Because until now, Chen Ming has already expanded over a dozen industrial colonies, consuming an uncountable amount of enormous resources.

Even so, the Rebel Army’s materials could still be supplied steadily; at least Chen Ming had never seen the warehouses he controlled being empty.

Specific industrial production planning, material allocation, and such matters have always been handled by Dong Miao.

If logistics are handled by me, and you go fight, and resources are abundant, Dong Miao’s words seem to be quite justified.

So, even though Dong Miao spoke boldly, no one opposed him.

After all, they’re only discussing the direction of the upcoming plans, each expressing their opinion first, with a decision on feasibility to follow.

And now, the situation became clearer.

Song Pu and Hong Guanghong supported a slow pace, waiting for opportunities.

Cheng Xinghe and Dong Miao advocated a direct engagement to strangle the Government Army.

The differing opinions balanced each other out.

So the decision on the main direction of the Rebel Army’s subsequent plans rested on Chen Ming.

While listening to his teammates, Chen Ming was also thinking. When everyone was waiting for him to speak, he no longer needed much time to think.

Chen Ming cleared his throat and said, ”I support putting direct battlefield pressure on the Government Army.”

”Though my spiritual energy greatly aids industrial production, industrial production requires time.”

”I still feel that my spiritual energy will be more effectively utilized in direct combat, simply pushing into their base and eliminating the Government Army.”

”Besides, didn’t we calculate this earlier?”

”The Government Army’s total force is about 1.5 to 2 times ours, with a maximum of 400 cruisers.”

”Though they can’t wipe us out directly either, we’re not in a good position to act.”

”But circumstances are different now.”

”Ignoring smaller ships, just from the recent battle, over 50 out of 70 cruisers were lost.”

”The Government Army now has at most about 350 cruisers left.”

”How many of these 350 will be split due to their larger occupied territory, used as local patrols?”

”And how many can actually be brought to the front line?”

”The Government Army can only deploy fewer than 100 more cruisers than we can.”

”As long as it’s not an all-out battle at the start, my spiritual energy can create significant advantages.”

”Moreover, during war, both fleets consume numbers, but our production efficiency is definitely higher than theirs.”

”As long as there are no major issues on the direct battlefield, if we achieve a 1-to-1 battle loss ratio, we can further close the gap in cruiser numbers between us and the Government Army.”

”So, I also agree with Dong Miao’s statement.”

”Advancing on multiple fronts, applying maximum pressure to all aspects of the Government Army.”

Chen Ming’s final words determined that the overall direction for the Rebel Army’s next steps would be primarily offensive.
