Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 795: Chapter 236: Attempt of the Special Operations Unit

After Bai Quan left.

It wasn’t too late.

Chen Ming took the few items Bai Quan had sent and returned to the place where he usually rested.

It was still in the lab’s underground second floor, an independent room in the corner.

After locking the door, Chen Ming raised his left hand and looked at the Shell Bracelet.

The consciousness of the Insect Queen descended onto the Shell Bracelet shortly after.

On the Shell Bracelet, as before, several insect eggs formed, and a few flexible tendrils grew out.

Chen Ming placed the medicine bottles that Bai Quan had sent earlier in a row on the table in front of him, allowing the tendrils of the Insect Queen to each pick out a pill and grind some powder to absorb.

The Insect Queen was a Spiritual Creature, possessing an extremely strong survival ability, and now only a small portion of its body tissue was on this side, so using these medicines posed no problem.

Moreover, the Insect Queen was quite sensitive to any absorbed substance, so it only needed to absorb a little to help Chen Ming analyze the composition of these medicines.

When Chen Ming confirmed that this part of the Insect Queen’s body absorbed these medicines, several tendrils showed some relatively intense Spiritual Energy Fluctuation due to the drugs, and the Insect Queen had analyzed the composition of the medicine.

He had to find a way to understand what these substances were from the Insect Queen, who couldn’t speak.

Fortunately, after a series of difficult consciousness exchanges.

Chen Ming still wrote down the different materials used in these various medicines at the end of the list of medicines Bai Quan gave him.

Some of the ingredients in these medicines specifically for Psychics could be synthesized using chemical substances, but most were natural Spiritual Materials.

And these Spiritual Materials for manufacturing medicine had a special feature.

They were not particularly targeted materials, but a particular kind of material with a certain special property.

For example, several meditation aids Bai Quan provided, which all needed extracts from the Immortal Spirit Tree as the main ingredient.

Chen Ming used to drink tea brewed with Immortal Spirit Leaves; its Spiritual Energy Fluctuation was very gentle, just right to serve as the main material for this type of medicine.

Other materials with gentle spiritual properties, as long as their nature is close to the Immortal Spirit Tree, can also act as materials for this medicine.

Therefore, the materials for medicines used by Psychics are not fixed; it mainly depends on the nature of the Spiritual Materials to decide what medicines can be made, rather than the materials themselves.

So this led to a problem that Chen Ming currently couldn’t replicate these medicines.

Because Chen Ming didn’t have anything on hand that could be used as medicine materials.

Speaking of which, Chen Ming suddenly remembered that there was someone his boss knew who wanted to exchange an Immortal Spirit Tree for Yan Xiong.

Chen Ming thought about it and didn’t trade because he found Yan Xiong could produce Spiritual Metal with certain spiritual properties in bulk.

And Yan Xiong is now being used as a source of material for researching Spiritual Metal under the Extraordinary.

Although these medicines seemed very good to Chen Ming.

But he didn’t have the materials now, so the Insect Queen couldn’t manufacture substances with similar properties.

He could only wait to see if there would be an opportunity to get spiritual plants with similar properties so that sustainable ones could be produced in bulk.

Chen Ming gathered all the medicines with the intention of sending them out at a later opportunity, delivering them to the main body.

Some medicines that temporarily stimulate Spiritual Power could be kept, while others that assist in Spiritual Power training could be given to the Insect Queen or let Xiao Shi consume them.

After safely storing all the medicines, Chen Ming turned his gaze to another item.

The Aurora Wind Spirit egg.

The Aurora Wind Spirit, a giant butterfly living in the atmosphere, able to produce and control auroras, known as Plasma, commonly called Plasma, was exactly the existence Chen Ming had been searching for to provide top-quality genes for the Insect Queen.

Chen Ming placed the colorful insect egg, the size of a fist, next to the tendrils on his other hand’s wrist and asked the Insect Queen, ”Should I eat a little or the whole thing? Or should I wait for it to hatch and become a butterfly?”

The Insect Queen vaguely responded to Chen Ming, then its tendrils surrounded the egg, and a finer tendril extended from the tip, directly piercing into the egg.

The small tendril immediately withdrew, and the Aurora Wind Spirit egg instantly reverted to its original state, appearing undamaged.

Yet the Insect Queen’s consciousness remarked that it had indeed extracted the Aurora Wind Spirit’s gene.

Chen Ming immediately opened the Insect Queen’s panel and looked at the last line.

[Executable Actions: Repair (Deep Repair) / Evolution / Disassemble / Genetic Traceback]

The Genetic Traceback option was now grayed out.

Because when Chen Ming’s spiritual energy progressed to the point where he could use the deep repair ability, he had already corrected the genes of the Insect Queen.

All valuable genes had been acquired by the Insect Queen, negating the need for Genetic Traceback.

Unvaluable genes that could no longer be traced had been completely eliminated, rendering this function temporarily useless.

Chen Ming thus directly clicked on the [Evolution] option.

Suddenly, numerous new choices emerged on the panel.

These were the genes the Insect Queen had regained after Chen Ming’s spiritual energy deep repair, along with the new genes acquired during its development on the planet where the Mechanical Race city resided.

Chen Ming had looked over this page before and spent considerable time studying the genes prior to attacking the Mechanical Race’s colonial planet.
