Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 784: Chapter 233 Zuo Jing’s Malice_2

Chen Ming saw confusion and urgency in the eyes of others, with no excess of emotions.

It seemed they really didn’t know what was happening inside.

Chen Ming opened the visor of the Power Armor and said, ”Doesn’t the person delivering goods to me recognize me?”

”Mr. Chen Ming!”

Several people present quickly put down their tools and said to Chen Ming, ”We haven’t been able to enter the cockpit for the past five minutes. Old Liu... uh, Liu Wei locked the door and isn’t answering our calls.”

The person in front glanced past Chen Ming, looking into the cockpit.

When he saw Liu Wei lying on the ground, and those few syringes on the floor, he began to stammer again.

”Liu Wei... is he... is he...”

Chen Ming slightly moved his steps, completely blocking their view.

”Don’t worry about him.”

Chen Ming pointed to the person who had just spoken, ”You go and call everyone on the ship over here and wait. Don’t wander around, cooperate with the investigation.”

”Cooperate well, and this matter won’t be related to you.”

The person pointed out by Chen Ming nodded in fear and quickly picked up the ship’s communication device to contact others on the spaceship.

Chen Ming also left the cockpit directly, sealing the door on his way out.

He glanced around again at the expressions of the people present, then controlled the spaceship to land near the designated spot on the dome for these cargo ships.

The dome staff routinely came to prepare for receiving the experiment materials.

However, they soon received a message from Chen Ming, telling them to ignore this cargo ship.

Though the order was strange, the staff accepted it.

After all these preparations were completed, Chen Ming was still waiting for Bai Quan’s contact.

However, he received a contact from someone else.

He had specifically instructed before, during the remote meeting at the Fourteenth Legion headquarters, that the researcher, who was the first to propose bringing the Mechanical Race here to find Chen Ming, seemed to be named Lu Kang.

He sent Chen Ming a message through the contact information left for the subordinate researchers, ”Mr. Chen Ming, did you receive the video I sent?”

Chen Ming was startled, and only then realized that Lu Kang sent him a video last night after the simulation had started.

And he didn’t see it until now.

It can only be said that normally almost no one uses formal means to contact him.

After all, he is now publicly within the Fourteenth Legion, and outside communications can’t reach him.

And to contact him, the few people he knows all have special terminals he gave out, so they don’t need to use formal means.

And within the Fourteenth Legion, Bai Quan also always uses the terminal Chen Ming gave him as his usual contact method.

So normally, no one uses the terminal to contact him, and naturally, he doesn’t check it often.

This situation arose as a result.

Lu Kang wouldn’t contact him for no reason; this video might have something important.

Chen Ming immediately downloaded the video, which was about ten minutes long.

He accelerated the video and began to play it.

The recording time of the video was yesterday afternoon, after Chen Ming left for the simulation.

Lu Kang was probably on the rooftop of the office building, taking a break with a glass bottle containing an unknown beverage after having dinner in the cafeteria.

Although Chen Ming arranged separate offices for all the dome’s researchers, they usually stayed in the lab or experimental building, rarely coming here.

So the building was quite deserted, and Lu Kang just found a quiet place to stay.

Moreover, Chen Ming noticed several empty glass bottles in the corner of the rooftop, indicating that it wasn’t his first time here.

Lu Kang leaned against the edge of the rooftop, took a sip of the drink, and suddenly started talking to himself.

”April 9, 5602, in the Common Era, Mr. Chen Ming’s research on the Purgatory Core has ended. Although I was only responsible for a very small part, I can see the power of the relic left by that civilization, and the superb technical level of Mr. Chen Ming.”

”Today, Mr. Chen Ming also gave us a complete report on the Purgatory Core for us to study and gave us a day of rest.”

”I’ve already applied for a week’s use of an empty laboratory, and I can try to follow Mr. Chen Ming’s ideas for research starting tomorrow.”

Chen Ming realized that Lu Kang was writing a diary.

”It’s a pity that I still don’t have permission to apply for a Purgatory Core for research; I can only use a computer for now...”

”Wait, what are those two doing?”

Lu Kang’s self-talk suddenly stopped.

He looked toward the corner beside the experimental building, seeming to notice something.

He then picked up the terminal recording himself and turned it toward the bottom of the office building.

Behind the office building, there were two people talking in a secret corner of the square garden, which had already been repaired once.

And this position happens to be a blind spot in the dome’s internal surveillance.

The dome surveillance isn’t fully covered.

For example, there are no cameras in each room of the dormitory building.

Similarly, there are some blind spots in public area surveillance.

Only the central laboratory and the other experimental building guarantee no blind spots, fully covered surveillance, since those two places are important.

Chen Ming knew this.

Originally, he intended to fix it himself, but after Hu Yi’s assassination attempt on him previously, a company responsible for security in cooperation with the Fourteenth Legion added a plan to fill all blind spots in his dome security plan.
