Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 348: Chapter 131 Supreme Point, Peering

The boss clearly knows the full scope of what the Fourteenth Legion is up to, so his questions pointed directly at the crux of the situation.

And Chen Ming, who had guided his development all along and helped him, had no reason to hide anything from his boss, saying: ”Burn this Star Realm into... No.”

”In fact, I don’t want to return to the Empire for the time being, and it may not be easy to return in the future either.”

”So I want to create a colony outside, but boss, I’d like to discuss the specific details about the colony with you.”

”Discuss what?”

”I want to try and build a colony myself.”

”Oh?”

The boss quickly understood Chen Ming’s intentions and didn’t become angry at Chen Ming’s change of plans, only advising: ”This will be difficult.”

”I think I can do it.”

”Then can you handle the personnel, resources, and technology aspects?”

”All of them are handleable, personnel is actually the easiest to solve, technology as well, only resources might have some gaps.”

The boss asked with some surprise: ”How much do you have already?”

”Three star systems, and scattered entities throughout the Star Realm, many are responsible for production only, incapable of combat.”

”Besides, because one individual on Dusk’s side can control the operation of a whole set of production facilities, the density is much lower than here, so the overall number should be only about fifty thousand or so.”

”And there’s an Alpha-level Dusk with capabilities in industrial production and colony management, and another Alpha-level with fleet command abilities.”

”However, this latter one I have just controlled, and I have yet to actually understand it.”

”That’s quite good.”

The boss suddenly spoke as if quite fulfilled: ”This is what I’ve hoped to see happen after your spiritual energy advancement.”

”So you need me to help you with resources, right?”

”Yes, as long as the colony is ultimately my own creation, we can discuss the rest slowly.”

Chen Ming already has a large number of Dusk entities as the foundation for colony development, along with the Brilliant Dusk’s Alpha-level technical and management expertise.

There’s also the Alpha-level Dusk with combat abilities from the border planet near Gamma Z serving as the patrol team.

The colony construction is essentially only lacking resources.

But the trouble lies in that.

The initial phase of colony development cannot yield returns, especially a colony like Chen Ming wants to build, isolated externally.

Not only is the investment enormous, but seeing returns is a far-off prospect.

Thankfully, Chen Ming’s abilities concerning material transportation possess unmatched advantages, ensuring the colony won’t face development issues due to transportation difficulties caused by distance in the future.

The boss, after hearing Chen Ming’s general thoughts, did not reject his request.

Instead, he felt gratified and said: ”Having a clear idea is a good thing, just as I recently went out on business and brought back some stuff.”

”What stuff?”

”Things you definitely need, a Supreme Peak Level exploration cruiser.”

”Supreme Peak?”

This was a spaceship model Chen Ming had never heard of, but he understood the words exploration cruiser.

The boss explained: ”I previously told you I am a member of the Spiritual Ability Association.”

”I went out this time also to help the association recruit new members.”

”It was a former researcher of Speed Particle Technology, who wasn’t doing well at the company, not highly regarded.”

”And there’s a guy mixed in Speed Particle Technology within our association who sensed the spiritual energy potential in that researcher, and prepared a relationship with the researcher beforehand.”

”New members need to be publicly announced within the association beforehand, and at least three veteran members need to serve as witnesses. I was nearby, so I was roped in, but going over was mostly just a formality, and it wasn’t troublesome.”

”This new member raised a request before joining us.”

”He wanted us to help him build and test the spaceship he previously designed, that is, the Supreme Peak Level exploration cruiser I just mentioned.”

”This time going there not only to handle the final procedures but also to bring the ship back.”

”Association members know I have you as a spiritual being, someone related to spaceships, so having you test the ship is ideal.”

”We happened to previously discuss the colony matter; you also need one like this. Can I help you with this?”

The boss posed this question and then quickly added: ”Of course, I know you’re officially reported dead, so I’ll definitely help you cover this matter.”

”Just say I found out you were dead after returning, so specially sought another pilot to test, and others didn’t know before, right?”

With the boss’s assurance, Chen Ming was ready to agree directly, but after considering it, he still said: ”I can, but does the ship I controlled have to return?”

”That doesn’t matter. Since we’ve already built the first prototype, the cost of manufacturing subsequent ships can be reduced, producing another one isn’t difficult.”

”Plus, the newcomer just wants the ship’s data to verify if there’s value in mass-producing this ship, even if you take it out and explode it, so be it, just take it as testing the defense performance.”

”Deal.”

Chen Ming agreed, then asked: ”So how’s this ship? Is the new model reliable?”

”The theoretical design has no issues, our association has other professional spacecraft engineers who can verify, and the newcomer’s spiritual energy concerns the brain; he’s very smart, so the ship design is certainly fine.”
