Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 329: Chapter 126: Dusk’s Concession, Dusk’s Scheme, Dusk’s... Surrender_2

”I mentioned to you before, continue with the previous task of overseeing the Star System and managing the colonies; the three main colonies in the Star System primarily produce mineral resources, and I need to coordinate their output.”

Brilliant indeed mentioned the mining site once again.

Chen Ming could consider asking it some probing questions.

If Brilliant has any special thoughts, it should try its best to respond.

But he needs to go around in circles, do some covering, and hide these hints within surface-level questions.

It would be best to first ask a few ordinary questions, and then begin the official questioning.

So Chen Ming said to Brilliant: ”I need to consider the questions, you ask one first.”

Chen Ming’s sudden openness surprised Brilliant a bit, it paused for a while before asking Chen Ming: ”Are you injured? Do you need medical attention? Even if it’s a medicine for Spiritual Energy injuries, we have those too.”

The question Brilliant asked sounded simple, but it was actually probing Chen Ming’s condition, wanting to understand his physical state.

Although Chen Ming was quite tempted by that medication, if he dared to ask Dusk would definitely dare to directly probe and conduct a detailed examination to determine the medication strategy.

So he didn’t even consider it, just casually replied: ”I’m fine now, no need for treatment. Alright, it’s my turn to ask.”

”Brilliant, I remember the Star System you were in before was attacked, are you okay?”

This question by Chen Ming would expose the fact that he was still connected with humans.

But since Chen Ming could remotely control the spacecraft, as long as Dusk isn’t a fool, it could guess that he has remote communication capabilities.

Even if there are constraints on precise control over long distances, it’s simple to communicate by having the spacecraft scribble some words in space.

It’s just that Chen Ming has always behaved well, genuinely looking like he wants to join Dusk, without any intention of rebellion.

At least Brilliant hasn’t mentioned any details of Chen Ming causing trouble to any Dusk.

In Dusk’s eyes, Chen Ming appears this way.

Even if Dusk knows now that Chen Ming is really maintaining contact with humans, the impact is basically gone, and might even be a good thing for Chen Ming.

Because Dusk wouldn’t let him go, after the first time, the second extraction of Spiritual Energy would come even more covertly, making it harder for Chen Ming to detect.

Perhaps while sleeping, Chen Ming might be strapped to the extraction device again.

And on the human side, since they have already bombed with the Gauss Cannon earlier, they definitely wouldn’t come back to rescue him.

But that’s just from Chen Ming’s perspective.

As long as Chen Ming openly communicates his ability to communicate with humans, without saying humans wouldn’t come to rescue him.

Then Dusk would have to consider the possibility of humans coming a second time.

From Dusk’s perspective, humans chose to kill Chen Ming under dire circumstances and desperation.

Since Chen Ming is alive, humans would either come to save him or come to kill him again, there’s no third option.

Though humans actually don’t know Chen Ming is still alive.

As long as Chen Ming doesn’t actively send out the news that he’s alive, humans won’t come again unless for other purposes, like Kleitka.

But Dusk doesn’t know this.

Therefore, once Chen Ming actively discloses this situation, they must allocate some forces to guard against a potential returning human fleet.

This could be considered a small maneuver by Chen Ming, the less force Dusk concentrates around him, the greater his chances of safely escaping later.

Brilliant doesn’t need to worry about the issues in Chen Ming’s words from Dusk’s overall perspective, it only needs to answer Chen Ming’s questions sufficiently.

”I was always on that Planet managing the internal operations of the Star System, not actually installed on the spaceship.”

”When the human fleet launched a surprise attack, I immediately called for assistance and was equipped onto the ship, ready to fight.”

”But before I actually took off, the support from our Main Ship already arrived.”

”The human fleet chose to retreat.”

It looks like Brilliant’s luck is indeed quite good.

Chen Ming quickly accepted Brilliant’s answer, and then suddenly had a spontaneous thought to ask: ”So is your current position here with me?”

”No, I’m still in the original Star System. Due to the significant loss of our individuals, I need to urgently coordinate the production routes of various colonies and also need to clean up the battlefield debris. I’m currently communicating with you via remote communication.”

Chen Ming continued to ask: ”So you’re still on the Planet I was previously on, in that Industrial Colony?”

”Yes.”

”I see.”

Following Chen Ming’s series of questions, the tense atmosphere between Chen Ming and Dusk indeed eased up.

However, Chen Ming also understands that Dusk is definitely just trying to buy time; the specific method of delaying doesn’t really matter.

So he tacitly allowed Brilliant to chat with Chen Ming about various things as long as it didn’t expose important information.

But isn’t Chen Ming also trying to buy time now?

Gamma Z wants to quickly expand within another Star System to deal with the Alpha Level Dusk that controls the Star System, it also takes time.

So delaying benefits Chen Ming too, and the future direction depends on whether Gamma Z or Dusk prepares faster.

”What are your arrangements for me afterwards? If it’s returning to the way it was before, there’s no need to say it, I wouldn’t believe it anyway.”
