Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 321: Chapter 124: Self-Consciousness, Spiritual World_2

The speed of the shell didn’t weaken at all, and the third Gauss cannon shell directly hit Iron Ore No. after breaking the shield.

A frigate, hit head-on by a large weapon without defensive measures other than armor, the outcome was predictable.

But Iron Ore No. had already accomplished what it needed to do.

Although the Gauss cannon shell showed no reaction when hitting the shield, it was indeed affected and deflected when hitting the hull of Iron Ore No.

In the end, the shell, with reduced destructive power, collided in the work area opposite the experimental zone.

The structure of the research facility itself is quite solid.

Previously, Iron Ore No. smashed the dome, blasting open the gates.

Now, the shell of the Gauss cannon, after weakening to a certain extent, hit one area.

Under such circumstances, the research facility still stood firm.

The damage near the research facility was limited to some industrial equipment.

And Iron Ore No. itself.

Iron Ore No. had already been completely destroyed after taking a direct hit from the Gauss cannon shell, leaving only shattered wreckage scattered across the facility.

At this moment, Zhang Feng confirmed that the positioning signal source had disappeared, and retreat became the only thing for them to do now.

The entire United Fleet covered each other as they jumped away from here.

Leaving behind a large amount of debris from ships floating in space.

The Dusk Fleet organized a smaller fleet to patrol within the star system, while deploying more ships in other surrounding star systems to search, preventing the United Fleet from making any further moves after their jump.

After the combat ships left, a large number of Dusk responsible for logistics began controlling various engineering ships to clean up the battlefield.

They recovered ship wreckage, searched for intact cores, captured human captives who escaped via lifeboats, and gathered the bodies of deceased humans.

The latter two could be used as bargaining chips in exchanges with humans later.

Meanwhile, G3 had just shifted its perspective from outside the research facility back to Chen Ming, who was experiencing unexpected events.

Clearly, the sudden snapping of the nerve was not a normal occurrence.

Chen Ming activated the Delusion Stone, causing unknown effects on it.

Additionally, the self-moving Iron Ore No. after Chen Ming lost consciousness left G3 quite puzzled.

It must submit a complete and clear report on this matter.

Luckily, now it doesn’t need to worry too much, as other Dusk in space would not give humans a second chance to launch an attack on the planet surface in an already precedent situation.

The only concern is that Chen Ming might have actively stimulated nerves earlier, causing deviations in the device’s use and potentially leading to his death.

So, G3 immediately controlled robots to conduct a thorough and detailed inspection of Chen Ming.

It needed to ensure that Chen Ming’s body functions were intact.

Meanwhile, it also had to confirm whether Chen Ming was really unconscious and whether he was indeed controlling Iron Ore No. earlier.

Additionally, it needed to verify if Chen Ming had anything unusual on him.

To prevent the possibility of unexpected events causing disruptions in the device’s usage process again.

Quickly, G3 confirmed that Chen Ming’s physical condition was all good, with brainwaves matching the state of an unconscious person, only showing significant fluctuations in spiritual power.

However, these fluctuations were normal during the use of Spiritual Ability Devices as long as they didn’t exceed a certain peak value.

Furthermore, while confirming Chen Ming’s physical condition, G3 also found that besides the Delusion Stone, Chen Ming carried a slightly lower quality Spiritual Stone.

This was the most unexpected aspect for G3.

Because it had not anticipated Chen Ming would carry such a high-intensity negative-effect Spiritual Stone and even two of them.

Even one of them was carried directly close to his body without any safety measures, showing complete disregard for its negative effects.

This explained why Chen Ming’s spiritual power had far exceeded expectations during this time.

A psychic carrying such an item might either go insane because of the Mind Pulse or experience a significant boost in spiritual energy to resist it.

G3 now highly suspected that Chen Ming’s Spiritual Stone had some unknown special effects.

Because previously, the detection equipment inside the research facility couldn’t detect the presence of this Spiritual Stone at all.

The weaker-effect Spiritual Stone was placed in a Silent Alloy-made box, so not being detected was acceptable.

The strong-effect Spiritual Stone in a clothing pocket, yet undetected, must have a special reason.

As the responsible individual for Chen Ming, G3 must investigate thoroughly, providing a reasonable report.

However, for now, all it could do was arrange robots to gather scattered wreckage of Iron Ore No. from various parts of the research facility.

While watching various data on Chen Ming’s body indicators, to prevent sudden incidents.

The reason being, Dusk at present has only mastered the way to use this device and not the underlying principles.

So when they consecutively encountered unexpected situations.

Such as the sudden attack by humans forcing them to activate it before the Spiritual Ability Device reached its optimal state.
