Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 325: Chapter 125: Reverse Absorption, Growth of Spiritual Energy_2

Although he couldn’t pinpoint the exact time, he had a feeling.

It was that the moment the Iron Ore No. was destroyed coincided with the time he inexplicably boarded it in his dream and crushed that giant nerve-turned-person.

Even though the time in the dream didn’t correspond to the time in reality.

Because when Chen Ming boarded the Iron Ore No., it was already near the end of that dream.

And outside, the Iron Ore No. was destroyed not long after he fell unconscious.

But despite this, Chen Ming still believed that these two events happened at the same time.

Thinking this way, connecting these two things.

It’s unlikely to say that he controlled the ship for so long, and that the existence of spiritual energy somehow gave the Iron Ore No. its own consciousness, right?

Chen Ming thought it over carefully but couldn’t fully commit to this idea.

After all, there’s another possibility: the nerve he saw before he lost consciousness entered his body.

And thus triggered some kind of defense mechanism in his body.

Allowing his subconscious to instinctively perform certain self-protective actions even while unconscious, like activating the Iron Ore No. now.

To be honest, with the existence of spiritual energy, nothing would really surprise Chen Ming anymore.

The instincts of spiritual energy and such are also acceptable.

If that were really the case, Chen Ming suddenly felt that the Iron Ore No. having its own consciousness could be completely plausible.

This could even explain the circumstances in his previous dream.

Outside, the Iron Ore No. was destroyed, so its consciousness followed Chen Ming’s spiritual energy into his brain.

It appeared in the dream, helping him crush that nerve.

The more Chen Ming thought about it, the more likely he felt it was possible, but this matter was still too metaphysical for him to have any theoretical basis to support such speculation.

Unless, he turned back to ask the boss’s side if there were similar cases.

Right now, debating this here was useless.

He can’t return to the dream, the Iron Ore No. was smashed beyond repair, and finding the ”consciousness,” whose existence is unknown, is out of the question.

Moreover, now whether it’s Chen Ming himself or the wreckage of the Iron Ore No., both are on Dusk’s turf.

Until he escapes, thinking about these things is just a waste of time.

However, when Chen Ming’s gaze swept over the wreckage fragments of the Iron Ore No. collected by Dusk, he indeed found some things that could be salvaged.

Such as a large number of damaged armor plates, ship body materials, and items originally stored in storage compartments.

And some equipment.

Wait, equipment?

Chen Ming suddenly noticed those devices that had been gathered by Dusk, which were barely intact when the Iron Ore No. was destroyed.

If he remembered correctly, not all the equipment on the Iron Ore No. had been modified by him.

Meaning that once these things left the ship, Chen Ming would lose control over them.

But now it’s different, all the equipment from the Iron Ore No., whether he had interacted with it or not, he could now directly open the panels of these devices to carry out maintenance, transformation, or other controls.

Does it mean... he can arbitrarily control any device he has encountered?

Chen Ming opened his eyes, looking at the spiritual ability device he was currently lying on.

Then, he really opened the panel of the device he had touched.

And the name of this device was the Spirit Awakening Nerve Extractor.

Just like all the ships Chen Ming had ever controlled, everything that had appeared on his ship before,

Chen Ming could transform it and directly control its operation through his consciousness.

What is this? A blessing in disguise?

Not only had his spiritual energy significantly increased, but he also gained a new ability to directly control mechanical devices like he controlled ships.

However, although Chen Ming could control the operation of devices, he still didn’t understand the working principle of this device and wasn’t clear about the process and purpose of its operation.

Without a manual, he couldn’t really use the device, at most just remotely press the start and stop buttons and the like.

Dusk didn’t seem like it would give him a manual either.

So he would have to figure it out by himself.

But Chen Ming could be sure of one thing.

Dusk’s objective was definitely his spiritual energy.

Because what they were doing before made him sense danger.

Indicating that Dusk didn’t care about his personal safety or him as a person.

What they cared about was solely his spiritual energy.

So, looking at the name of the device, Chen Ming could pretty much guess.

The Enlightenment Nerve is the source of a Psychic’s spiritual energy.

After extracting the Enlightenment Nerve, then Chen Ming’s spiritual energy would completely fall into Dusk’s hands.

The nerve that previously drilled into his brain was likely the Enlightenment Nerve as well.

What Chen Ming didn’t understand was that the device’s effect was to extract the Enlightenment Nerve, so why would they insert an extra one into his brain?

This seems to still be a necessary step to activate the device.

Chen Ming thought about it and suddenly recalled that this Enlightenment Nerve was apparently connected to the vial that housed it before.

It shouldn’t have broken originally, but instead, it only broke and directly drilled into his brain after being stimulated.

If Chen Ming hadn’t stimulated it before, it should have remained connected to the vial while drilling into his brain, extracting Chen Ming’s Enlightenment Nerve.

This should count as a reasonable explanation.

But there’s still an issue that’s troubling Chen Ming.
