Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 323: Chapter 124: Self-Consciousness, Spiritual World_4

The handgun, Delusion Stone, and the portable Mind Fluctuation Generator equipped with the Whispering Stone that I carried with me are all gone.

However, Chen Ming didn’t care about these external possessions right now.

After all...

”I’m actually still alive.”

Chen Ming tried to struggle a few times, realizing he couldn’t break free, and there was no sign that Dusk wanted to talk to him either.

So he simply tilted his head back and closed his eyes.

Focusing intently on the recent events.

First, he was certain that the thick nerve that transformed into his likeness in the dream must have been the severed nerve that bored into his eye socket before he lost consciousness.

Its desire after turning into a human form was directed entirely at Chen Ming himself.

Perhaps it was a parasite capable of controlling the body.

Or it could be some kind of insect related to Spiritual Energy, possessing a special effect targeting Spiritual Energy.

After all, this equipment itself emitted Spiritual Energy Fluctuations, and this nerve also emitted Spiritual Energy Fluctuations.

So the question arises.

What did the steel jungle where he was represent? What did the wreckage mountain within that steel jungle represent?

What concept does it symbolize? Or is it his mental world?

Although Chen Ming wasn’t clear about the specifics right now,

he could be sure that this steel jungle was most likely a place related to his Spiritual Energy and his brain.

Maybe he could ask his boss about it later.

When it comes to Spiritual Energy, the boss definitely knows much more than he does.

For now, Chen Ming decided to regard this steel jungle as his mental world temporarily.

It seemed that the nerve first drilled into his eye socket in a physical sense, then into his brain.

It entered his mental world, attempting to replace Chen Ming’s existence.

The result, naturally, was a failure.

It was completely crushed by the suddenly appearing Iron Ore No. and was eventually absorbed by Chen Ming in reverse.

However, thinking this way, shouldn’t the nerve still be in his brain?

Chen Ming attempted to summon Spiritual Power to gradually radiate from the brain.

But he didn’t feel anything unusual, nor did he find anything in his brain that shouldn’t be there.

On the contrary.

Chen Ming felt a significant increase in his Spiritual Power, and his Spiritual Energy seemed to have also strengthened considerably.

Moreover, it wasn’t a temporary enhancement through various devices but an actual improvement in strength.

This seemed to be the result of absorbing that nerve.

Chen Ming immediately checked his panel, which could most intuitively reflect the strength of his Spiritual Energy.

Then he discovered that the number of controllable spaceships had leapt from the original 4 to 10, more than doubling.

It should be known that the number of controllable spaceships is linked to Chen Ming’s Spiritual Power.

Since the number of controllable spaceships doubled, his Spiritual Power should have doubled as well.

Chen Ming immediately thought of modifying something to test.

But when he chose a target, he found that Iron Ore No. had disappeared from his list of controlled ships.

Was it dismantled by Dusk?

This thought flashed in Chen Ming’s mind.

He then suddenly noticed that he seemed to be able to sense the remnants of Iron Ore No.

Right on the planet he currently was, inside a factory in the colony on the planet.

Even though Iron Ore No. only left remnants and had no monitoring equipment to record images,

Chen Ming could directly see the situation surrounding the remnants of Iron Ore No.

This should also be an effect brought about by the enhanced Spiritual Strength.

These scattered fragments amounting to over a thousand pieces were distributed to different parts of the factory by Dusk, and their situations shared a similarity, being surrounded by a large amount of equipment.

Dusk seemed to be studying these remnants.

Chen Ming took a quick look and found that the black box of Iron Ore No. still existed.

He could even directly read the data from it with his mind.

This reading wouldn’t affect the equipment itself, so he did just that.

Chen Ming skipped over a lot of useless data recorded in the black box, directly jumping to the time after he lost consciousness.

At that moment, Iron Ore No. behaved like a normal spaceship, paralyzed in place after losing Chen Ming’s remote control.

Contrary to Chen Ming’s expectations, the three giant mechanical bodies didn’t dismantle Iron Ore No. directly but remained in standby in place.

Inside the research lab, many robots took this opportunity to pour out, repairing the lab’s doors and the dome outside.

Everything looked very calm, with no signs of Iron Ore No. being violently destroyed whatsoever.

Except for the battle that was still ongoing in space.

Although Chen Ming couldn’t see the specifics of the battle, he could see the continuous explosion along the entire battle line.

This indicated that one side must have made a mistake, leading to an overwhelmingly one-sided battle situation.

As for which side made the mistake.

Chen Ming realized it when he saw the familiar shape of Gauss Cannon shells heading straight from space towards the research lab.

These were fired by the Fourteenth Legion, intended for scenarios where all hope of rescuing Chen Ming was lost in the end.

These were shells meant to eliminate him.
