Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 309: Chapter 121 Unexpected? Transformation?_4

However, the growth seems to have a limit.

When Chen Ming’s spiritual power was disturbed by the equipment, he seemed to sense the maximum intensity of the spiritual energy fluctuation from the device.

It was an inexplicable feeling, but Chen Ming chose to believe it.

When the spiritual energy fluctuation reaches its peak, it will surely be when this device truly activates.

According to the current growth rate, Chen Ming felt that the approximate time was about a week.

After the time previously set by the Fourteenth Legion to take action.

This was good news for Chen Ming.

Right.

Chen Ming immediately realized what he should do at this moment.

He immediately contacted through the Dawn docked at the Pirate Space Station, using the communication code previously connected with Bai Quan.

However, when the communication was connected, the person speaking with Chen Ming was not Bai Quan, but someone else Chen Ming didn’t recognize.

Although Chen Ming was a bit puzzled, he still said, ”Is it the operator? I need to speak with Bai Quan.”

The other end of the communication was silent for a long time, until Chen Ming began to think if he had called the wrong number, then the other side said, ”Major General Bai Quan is currently unavailable to see you.”

”Where is he?”

”It’s none of your business, Mr. Chen Ming, you just need to do your job, we’ll handle the rest.”

”?”

The operator’s words made Chen Ming very uncomfortable and also very confused.

Can’t Bai Quan even manage his own subordinates? That shouldn’t be the case, right?

He’s a Major General, and for his subordinates to act like this, it reflects poorly on him.

But Chen Ming really had no direct way to contact Bai Quan now, and he didn’t need to quarrel with an operator.

”Then please pass on a message: the equipment over there was delivered early. Activation will require approximately a week of preparation based on my observations. You better move quickly, and remember to notify me.”

The operator casually agreed a couple of times and then disconnected the communication.

Hearing the busy tone in the communication, Chen Ming felt even more strange.

He thought for a moment and simply contacted Old Wu, planning to check with the company about Bai Quan’s situation.

Old Wu boarded Chen Ming’s spaceship as usual.

But before Chen Ming could speak, he said first: ”Let me tell you first, Xiao Ming, the company’s attitude towards you seems to have suddenly deteriorated a little, not sure what unexpected situation has occurred.”

Chen Ming immediately furrowed his brow and asked, ”Is that so?”

”Yes, both Old Lu and I find the situation strange. He’s still asking over there, and we don’t know exactly what’s happening.”

Chen Ming suddenly connected the two things together.

The simultaneous change in attitude from the Fourteenth Legion and the company must have some connection behind it.

But without information, Chen Ming really couldn’t confirm the truth.

So to Old Wu, Chen Ming could only say, ”Just let the director deal with the company’s attitude, I’m looking for you for something else. Help me convey a message to the company.”

”Sure, go ahead.”

Chen Ming reiterated the words he said to the operator of the Fourteenth Legion.

He’s not saying he’s afraid the legion or the company won’t rescue him.

After all, he has already seized a cruiser from Dusk, fully capable of escaping on his own; whether they rescue him or not doesn’t matter to him.

Chen Ming contacted the legion and the company mainly out of concern that Dusk’s sudden early retrieval of the spiritual ability device might affect their arrangements.

If their arrangements have issues, it could potentially cause problems for Chen Ming’s own plans.

So Chen Ming continuously contacted both sides to deliver the message.

But that’s as much as Chen Ming could do, and he didn’t know if this sudden change in attitude would affect future events.

After ensuring Old Wu remembered his words clearly, Chen Ming suddenly thought of something and said to Old Wu, ”Is there any message from the boss for me?”

Old Wu shook his head, then suddenly nodded and said, ”There is, actually.”

”However, Old Wu went to his colony a few days ago, saying he encountered some problems there that require his personal attention.”

”He said that if you have urgent matters, contact him with the emergency number, but he also mentioned that he didn’t attend the meeting afterward, so don’t bother him about those matters, he can’t help.”

Chen Ming breathed a slight sigh and said, ”Got it, I understand.”

”I’ll leave the task of passing on messages to you, let me know if there’s any response.”

”Got it.”

The communication ended.

Chen Ming sighed.

It seems he couldn’t rely on the boss’s connections to figure out why the Fourteenth Legion and the company suddenly changed their attitudes.

As expected, in the end, a person can only rely on themselves.
