After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 548: Chapter 552 Love Makes People Strong, and Also Drives Them Mad【2】

”I know, President Leng!” Luo Xiaoqian smiled at him, ”Shouldn’t you be getting up too? At this time, you’ll be late for work, won’t you?”

”I’ve already called Ailin to let her know I’ll be arriving later, I’ll leave when they come up.” Leng Zimo got out of bed after peeling back the covers, ”I won’t give anyone the chance to hurt you again.”

Seeing the serious expression on his face, Luo Xiaoqian turned and walked past him, ”From today on, I’ll take good care of myself for you!”

”Good girl!” Leng Zimo affectionately patted her head, ”Go take a shower.”

After both took their showers and changed into fresh clothes, Leng Zimo called Gao Jie and Lin Ye upstairs.

Seeing the assortment of breakfast items and other groceries for lunch and dinner that they brought with them, Luo Xiaoqian felt both happy and helpless.

Leng Zimo was a thorough man’s man, but being pampered by him felt like a treat to her.

After a simple breakfast, Leng Zimo picked up his laptop, ready to head to the office, but not before reminding both of them.

”When I’m not around, no matter who it is, no matter what she does, you must ensure she remains within your line of sight, I want her, absolutely safe!”

Gao Jie and Lin Ye answered in unison, acknowledging these were their duties as bodyguards.

They were aware of Luo Xiaoqian’s situation and obviously understood why he wanted them to stay at Luo Xiaoqian’s place.

With Leng Zimo off to work, Luo Xiaoqian prepared some fruits for them, then went to the music room to practice the piece she hadn’t finished recording. Due to the incident, Zhuo Yannan and the team had adjusted her recording schedule. What was supposed to be a week’s rest had been extended to two weeks, giving her more time to prepare.

In the afternoon, after her piano practice, Luo Xiaoqian stood up to stretch her body, and seeing Gao Jie and Lin Ye reading at the side, an idea struck her.

”Gao Jie, why don’t you two teach me some basic self-defense techniques?”

”That is quite strenuous,” Gao Jie said.

”No problem, just consider it like dance practice. After all, both involve physical training, and who knows, learning self-defense might even help with my dancing?”

Unable to dissuade her, they agreed.

Thus, in addition to her singing, piano, and dance exercises, Luo Xiaoqian added another routine to her daily schedule – women’s grappling techniques.

Lu Hao’s death couldn’t be kept secret, and many reporters, having got wind of it, sought to interview Luo Xiaoqian. Thankfully, no one knew where she lived. Under Gao Jie and Lin Ye’s care, she had some peaceful days for a few days in a row.

The two weeks passed by quickly, and the scabs on her wounds had all come off. Apart from a rather severe abrasion on her leg that still had some light coloring, she no longer showed any signs of injury.

When she walked into the recording studio with Leng Zimo’s hand in hers and under the escort of Gao Jie and Lin Ye, everyone saw a Luo Xiaoqian who seemed even more radiant than before.

”Sissi!” Jason, who had come all the way from the United States specifically for her recording, immediately walked up to her, praising her in English, ”You seem even more beautiful than just two weeks ago.”

Luo Xiaoqian laughed and shook hands with him, ”You’ve gotten even better at complimenting people in these two weeks!”

”I’m serious!” Jason said with a smile, ”This time, you seem to have something new about you that wasn’t there before, like... you’ve become stronger!”
