After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 507: Chapter 510 Fearful, You Say Goodbye to Me [1]

Early in the morning, the sky gradually cleared.

Jiao Yang stepped out of the apartment building, stretching his body by the riverbank and warming up. Then, he followed his daily routine and began his morning exercise.

To recover from a body ravaged by alcohol and marijuana, he reversed his previous nocturnal lifestyle and started exercising. From the initial struggle to rise in the early mornings to now, morning exercise had become a habit.

He ran out of the villa area, straight through the birch forest, and arrived at the river not far from the villa. He hadn’t gone far when he saw two elderly people gesturing toward the river.

Seeing him, one of the elders immediately waved at him.

”Young man, you have good eyesight, take a look – is that a person?”

Jiao Yang stopped and walked over to the two men, looking doubtfully where the elder pointed.

By the edge of the river, someone was lying face down by the water, half their body submerged, with long hair slightly rippling with the waves.

Realizing it was a young girl, he was shocked. He immediately climbed over the railing and cautiously made his way down the slope to the river.

Approaching her, he bent down and softly called, ”Miss, Miss?”

There was no response.

Could it be... a dead body?!

Jiao Yang frowned and reached out a hand toward her face, half hidden by long hair.

The girl’s breathing was very weak, but still perceptible.

He breathed a sigh of relief and moved closer, grabbing the girl’s arm and dragging her toward the nearby steps with the two elders also hurrying over to help.

Together, they finally managed to carry the girl onto the riverbank and laid her flat. Jiao Yang lifted her hair from her face to see the familiar face and cried out in shock.

”Qian?!” Ignoring the strange looks from the two elders, he picked her up from the ground and started running towards the nearest hospital, ”Hold on, Qian, I’m taking you to the hospital right away!”

Before he reached the steps nearby, Luo Xiaoqian had already started coughing violently.

In a panic, he stopped and tilted her head to the side, causing water to spill out from her mouth.

”Qian?”

As he patted her back to help expel any lingering dirty water from her lungs, Jiao Yang’s eyes were filled with distress.

After coughing up several mouthfuls of water, Luo Xiaoqian took a deep breath and slowly opened her eyes, squinting them shut again because of the harsh sunlight.

”Qian?” Seeing her regain consciousness, Jiao Yang’s eyes were filled with joy, ”How are you?”

Her eyes were sore, her throat felt as if it was on fire, and her body hurt everywhere...

Luo Xiaoqian stared at the blurry figure in front of her, listening to him call her name. It took her a while to recognize his face.

”Jiao... Jiao Yang?”

Her voice was severely hoarse.

”It’s me!” Jiao Yang held her again, ready to stand up, ”I’m taking you to the hospital first.”

”Wait...” Luo Xiaoqian struggled to get two words out.

”What’s wrong?” Jiao Yang stopped and looked at her face, confused, noticing the scrapes on her face and feeling even more concerned.

”I don’t want to go to the hospital.”

”What are you talking about? There’s dirty water in your lungs – if you don’t get treated in time, you could get pneumonia...” Jiao Yang stepped forward again.

But Luo Xiaoqian had already struggled out of his embrace. She had hardly eaten the day before. After jumping into the river to escape, she just kept swimming, swimming tirelessly until she could finally drag herself onto the riverbank, completely exhausted. Now she had no strength left.
