After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 528: Chapter 532 Thank You and Sorry [2]

Leng Zimo comfortingly patted her back, ”Don’t be scared, it’s all over now.”

Only when he felt her emotions had slightly improved, did he speak again, ”Besides Lu Hao, do you have any other enemies, or have you offended anyone else?”

Enemies?

Luo Xiaoqian lifted her face with some confusion, ”Why do you ask?”

”The police found a check for ten million on Lu Hao. The two men who took you confessed that Lu Hao gave them two hundred thousand to kidnap you.” Leng Zimo’s gaze deepened, ”Lu Hao couldn’t possibly have that much money. I warned him once in the Qingdao cemetery. You should know his character better than I do. He wouldn’t have the guts without someone backing him up.”

Luo Xiaoqian nodded and pondered.

She knew Lu Hao very well; he couldn’t handle hardships and always liked to live comfortably. Last time, because of her, he nearly ended up in prison. He wouldn’t dare confront Leng Zimo unless someone was secretly directing him.

However, after thinking for a long time, she couldn’t think of any enemies she might have.

Her father was just an ordinary man, and her mother was also an ordinary elementary school teacher. As for her... she was always friendly at the company, never acted like a diva, and had fairly good relationships with her colleagues. She didn’t seem to have offended anyone, except...

Luo Xiaoqian lifted her face, ”Su Jin wouldn’t do such a thing, would she?”

”Su Jin?” Leng Zimo shook his head gently, ”She hasn’t got that kind of nerve.”

He knew Su Jin’s situation best; although she used to be a first-tier figure, due to her poor financial management, many of her investments resulted in losses. For the current Su Jin, ten million was not an amount she could take out casually.

”I can’t think of anyone else,” said Luo Xiaoqian.

”Brother Yizhou, pull over,” Leng Zirui straightened his body on the passenger seat, ”I’ll go check the scene.”

Shen Yizhou pulled over to the side of the road, watching Leng Zirui get out, Luo Xiaoqian quickly spoke out, ”Zirui, thank you for the trouble.”

Although she didn’t know that Leng Zirui had found Jiao Yang first, from his expression, she could tell that he must have also been helping Leng Zimo to find her before.

”We’re all family, no need for thanks.” Leng Zirui turned his face, smiled back at her, and with a mischievous look in his eyes, winked at her, ”Next time my brother picks on me, you’ll just have to be my shield.”

After waving to the three of them, he turned and walked towards the pedestrian overpass.

Shen Yizhou then got back on the road to drive Leng Zimo and Luo Xiaoqian to World City.

The car stopped beneath World City, and the three of them got out one after another. Shen Yizhou escorted them upstairs and gave Luo Xiaoqian a brief physical check, confirming she was not seriously injured. He immediately smiled and spoke.

”It’s nothing serious, just some minor scratches. Xiao Qian, you go up first. I want to have a word with Zimo.”

”Alright,” Luo Xiaoqian turned to go upstairs.

Watching her disappear at the top of the stairs, Shen Yizhou then approached Leng Zimo.

”Last night, I spoke with Uncle Leng for a bit. Although he didn’t explain exactly what happened, I could see he’s in pain over this matter too.” Shen Yizhou raised his hand to rest it on Leng Zimo’s shoulder, ”It’s been so long, no matter what, he’s still your dad. Since you can accept that Xiao Qian is that man’s daughter, why can’t you accept a past mistake your dad made?”
