After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 525: Chapter 528 These past two days, I’ve been so scared... [4]

Jiao Yang shook hands with him and was about to invite him in to sit down.

A silver-white sedan had already driven up to the front of the villa. Before the car had even come to a stop, the passenger door was forcefully pushed open.

Leng Zimo leapt out of the car and rushed down the steps, fixing his gaze on Jiao Yang as he asked.

”Where is she?”

Jiao Yang’s eyes swept over his haggard face, the wrinkled shirt and trousers, and the house slippers on his feet...

Taking a step back, he cleared the way to the entrance.

”Upstairs, on the terrace.”

Leng Zimo dashed through the door, heading for the stairs.

”There we go!” Leng Zirui glanced at Shen Yizhou, who was getting out of the car, and stretched out an arm, yawning, ”A perfect grand finale.”

”Mr. Jiao, is Xiao Qian alright?” Shen Yizhou stepped forward, asking Jiao Yang.

Although it was their first meeting, Shen Yizhou had already guessed who he was when he saw him.

”She has some minor scratches, nothing serious. She had a fever last night, so I gave her some antipyretics and antibiotics. There’s no symptoms like coughing; she should be fine.”

”That’s good to know!” Shen Yizhou nodded, visibly relieved.

...

...

Upstairs.

Leng Zimo ran up the stairs, searching for the terrace, and when his gaze landed on the familiar figure at the end of the hallway on the terrace, his body stiffened for a moment, then he tiptoed toward her.

On the terrace, Luo Xiaoqian still maintained the same posture as last night. Her usually lively eyes now just stared blankly outside the window.

She looked as if she was physically present, but her soul was somewhere else.

His gaze slowly trailed over her from head to foot, taking in the wounds on her face and arms.

Leng Zimo’s breath hitched, his heart, as if it had been struck hard.

”Xiao Qian!”

Upon hearing that voice so familiar it reached her bones, Luo Xiaoqian, who had been lost in thought, suddenly brightened in her eyes. She turned her face abruptly, saw Leng Zimo, and instinctively stood up, wanting to rush over to him.

She took one step forward and then immediately stopped herself hard.

”You...you came.”

Seeing the dimness and hesitation in her eyes, Leng Zimo hurried forward and stretched out his arms to embrace her.

”I’m sorry, Xiao Qian, I’m sorry, it’s all my fault. I shouldn’t have kept it from you; I should have been clear with you. I was too foolish. When I saw the photo, I acted too impulsively; it’s my fault... I’m a Big Fool...”

”You?” Luo Xiaoqian lifted her face from his embrace, her tone full of trepidation, ”You...don’t you hate me?”

”Silly girl!” Leng Zimo lifted his hand to caress her face, ”All those things had nothing to do with you. Why would I hate you?”

In his heart, he never entertained the notion of hate towards her.

”Really?!” Luo Xiaoqian looked at him uncertainly.

”Of course it’s true. Have I ever lied to you?” Leng Zimo pulled her close, holding her tightly against his chest, ”The reason I’ve been avoiding you is that I was too foolish to mistakenly believe that we were blood relatives. I was too stupid. I should have thought of it. I’m sorry, this time, it’s all my fault!”

Luo Xiaoqian listened to his heartbeat in her ear, ”Do you really not care that I am her daughter?”

”Fool!” Leng Zimo cursed in annoyance, ”If I cared about that, would I have come to find you?”

”Then, will you cherish me like you used to?” she asked softly.

”I promise, I’ll cherish you more than before,” he said.

”Zimo!” Luo Xiaoqian cried, clutching his clothes, her tears which had been held back all night finally collapsing in front of him, ”These past few days, I’ve been so scared...”
