High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 2042: Chapter 263: The Super Student Hunting Team

”What are you looking at?”

The cost student noticed the smile on the Red-faced Male Wizard’s face was no less bright than his own, raised his eyebrows in surprise, and leaned his head towards the wizard.

Can’t remember which witch he’s close to!

Why is he so happy!

Zhang Ji Xin couldn’t hear Zheng Qing’s inner complaints, and upon hearing, patted the newspaper under his hands without looking up, rustling loudly, replying cheerfully: ”I’m looking at how everyone is praising us, listen to this part...”

Zheng Qing glanced at the newspaper header and couldn’t help but raise his eyebrows.

It’s the ”Beta Town Post”.

Does the post ever praise people? The young cost student instinctively curled his lips, already prepared mentally to be skewered by an article with a sarcastic tone.

The Red-faced Male Wizard cleared his throat and began to read with expression:

”...A new generation hunting team composed entirely of second-year students unexpectedly unfolded a Second Rank Array in the sixth ’Academy Cup’ selection match held at 9 pm on Thursday, constructing a flesh-and-blood solid mature Bo Fu Clan Giant to withstand the frenzied attacks of many high-level magical creatures... Although in the last three minutes, this giant was easily suppressed by Atrac’s projection, it did not negate the outstanding performance of the hunting team...”

”...As everyone knows, the Second Rank Array belongs to the high-tier application magic circle and is widely used in the opening of the New World and combat against demons, but few wizards below the registered level can practice it... In fact, even among the many pioneering hunting teams in the New World, not all hunting teams can master the Second Rank Array (experts repeatedly emphasized to reporters that this deep magic should be cautiously learned under professional guidance, do not practice privately, otherwise it will cause serious magical accidents)...”

”...According to journalist’s understanding, the Absolution Hunting Team is not entering the public eye for the first time... In October 2008, less than a month after its establishment, the team won the champion of that year’s school hunting party’s freshman race (due to flaws in relevant procedures, this championship title is quite challenged)... A few months ago when the Black Prison battle broke out, this team unexpectedly appeared on the battlefield, witnessing the whole process of the war between wizards and demons, although due to the contract, the detailed content of the situation remains ’silent’, this is enough to prove the true strength of the Absolution Hunting Team...”

”...According to journalists’ multiple understandings, although the Absolution Hunting Team has not been established long, its members have the top resumes of the First University, including the younger brother of the current Lei Zhe, zieheir apparent of the Zhongshan Jiang Family, inheritor of the O’Brien and Tabbot dual-bloodlines, special enrollment of the First University, etc... Especially the team’s captain Zheng Qing, who has been a cost student of the First University for two consecutive years, won a Merlin Medal before entering school, and entered the famous publication ’Magic Wand’s ’Great Arcana’ sequence in the first year of study, acquiring the title of ’World’... The last wizard to enter the ’Great Arcana’ sequence during school was Doctor Duzem, who developed the man-made Philosopher’s Stone...”

”...As a not-so-famous ’super student hunting team’, the Absolution Hunting Team last entered the public eye a week ago after the ’Campus Cup’ selection mission ended... Lady Su Shijun of the Moon Council, heir of the Qingqiu Su Family, known as the ’wizard world’s number one beauty’, became the team’s mentor... An anonymous person once reflected to the media that the Su Councilor taught exclusive joint techniques of the Moon Council to the Absolution Hunting Team; when the journalists sought verification from the council, the Moon Council’s spokesman stated the rumors were unfounded fabrications...”

”...Other sources indicate that many world-renowned hunting teams—such as God Zhou, Xianqin, Holy Tang, Avengers, Hydra, Tulip, etc.—are seeking engagement with this new generation ’super student hunting team’, hoping to supplement fresh blood for their teams...”

Zheng Qing listened to this ’content-rich’ report, his face scrunched up.

Honestly, compared to previous ”Beta Town Post” reports on news related to the ’Jiuyou mark’, this article is already objective enough—at least, it didn’t depict Zheng Qing as a crazy male wizard who loves eating demon hearts—and moreover, most of the content in the article is true.

But on the other hand, the article still maintains the post’s traditional exaggerated writing style.

For example, the sentence ’its members have the top resumes of the First University’ feels stuck in Zheng Qing’s throat. Calling it flattery is fine because it’s listing facts; but calling it objective, an average person would hardly write something so cringeworthy—or rather, Zheng Qing himself definitely wouldn’t write such words.

And then there’s that ’super student hunting team’ stuff—good heavens, from childhood to now, Zheng Qing has never heard praise so blunt, simple, and direct, it’s almost as awkward as being praised as a ’tycoon’ for the first time.

Until the last paragraph, the young cost student couldn’t resist the turmoil in his heart anymore and interrupted the Red-faced Male Wizard: ”Stop, stop for a moment... Stop here for a moment... What’s with ’many famous hunting teams are seeking engagement with Absolution’? Has any hunting team contacted us? How come I don’t know?”

As the captain of the Absolution Hunting Team, Zheng Qing claimed he had never received any such Paper Crane.

Admittedly, due to Su Shijun and the recent competitions, the Paper Cranes in Room 403 have somewhat reached a flood-waters level, not only has that Fat Cat collected a heap of soft letter papers to make a comfortable cat bed, but even the Sprites have started picking up beautiful letter papers to embellish their Paper House.

But if any Paper Crane came from outside the school, or if the letter paper bears names familiar to Zheng Qing’s ears—like God Zhou, Xianqin, or even Xiling and other giant hunting team names or emblems—he decidedly wouldn’t have zero impression.

Even if it isn’t mounted and hung on the wall, it would at least gather all team members for a small celebration meeting.

You know, receiving an invitation from those giants is equivalent to obtaining a golden ladder, not only would tuition and materials for the next two years be worry-free, but also resources for progression to registered wizard would likely be covered, and there’s a great chance to develop out a world unique to Absolution—a real world, with the Sun, Moon, mountains, and rivers all belonging to Absolution.

”Is there?”

Zheng Qing looked around, Xiao Xiao as usual was expressionless, Zhang Ji Xin also looked bewildered, only Xin Fat Man cleared his throat mimicking Zhang Ji Xin earlier.

”Ahem,”

The Fat Wizard extended his thick fingers to point at a certain word in the article: ”In the report, ’sources’ doesn’t mean ’reliable source of information’, even a drunkard at the bar or an old man doing tricks by the road can become a ’source’... In this sense, the reliability of ’source’ words is even less than the previous paragraph’s ’anonymous person’... At the very least, the post can confirm ’anonymous person’ is a human.”
