High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 2007: Chapter 228: An Expected Reaction

Xin Fat Man ultimately lacked the courage to challenge Su Shijun’s fans’ tolerance level.

The next day was Friday, and early in the morning, he obediently collected a double portion of invisibility talismans from Zheng Qing, sticking them to his chest and back, quietly slipping into the classroom along the shade and corners of the walls.

As per Zheng Qing’s request, from this day onwards, all the warlocks in the Atonement Hunting Team should avoid showing up as much as possible to prevent excessive crowding before the match, causing a negative impact.

Regarding the invisibility talismans, they are uniformly provided by the hunting team for free, five pieces per person per day. This means Zheng Qing needs to spend more than half an hour every day on talisman painting.

Apart from the invisibility talisman, all hunters in Atonement have also changed into brand new red robes and belts, as well as beautiful cufflinks sponsored by Dylan. According to Mister Wolfman, from today onwards, the Atonement Hunting Team also inversely represents Su Councilor’s image and must be responsible for the councilor’s image.

In short, clean, tidy, and low-key are the minimum requirements during this period.

If, based on this requirement, there’s a bit more taste and then Xin Fat Man is expelled, it would be even more perfect. As a member of the creatures under the moon, Dylan may not be a fervent fan of Su Shijun, but he cares more than ordinary enthusiasm.

It turns out that the young student’s requirements were quite foresighted.

The news that Su Shijun was appointed as the mentor of the Atonement Hunting Team spread rapidly early in the morning with the extras of ”Beta Town Post” and ”School Newspaper.”

When Zheng Qing and his group arrived at the classroom and took off the invisibility talismans hanging on them, they were greeted with enthusiastic and noisy cheers from all the students of Astronomy Class 08-1.

”How did you manage this?!”

”Is it true? Is Su Shijun really the mentor for Atonement?”

”It’s published in the newspaper, how can it be fake! Moreover, is Brother Qing the kind to put on a show?... Brother Qing, is the Atonement Hunting Team still recruiting?”

”A newspaper might have discrepancies, but two authoritative newspapers are laid in front of you, and you’re still nitpicking?... Brother Qing, does the Atonement Hunting Team need sponsorship? No strings attached!”

”Brother Qing! I have a cousin working at Beta Town Post who wants to chat with you about Councilor Su... Of course, of course, you determine the time! The Post is willing to provide generous lubrication... sponsorship!”

”Fat Man! Have you met Councilor Su? Heard she’s been in the lab all this time... Have you seen her baby? It’s Neptune! Heard it has beautiful fiery red fur, and is born with two tails!”

Zheng Qing listened somewhat hesitantly to the chaotic discussions around him, wishing he could silence everyone’s mouths, and then reapply invisibility talismans for all his teammates.

Thinking that such days would continue for quite some time, he didn’t feel good about it.

”Haven’t seen, after all, Councilor Su is quite busy usually.”

The Fat Wizard sat reserved at his position, enjoying the attention from all directions, while sternly warning the student attempting to help his cousin interview Zheng Qing: ”Any interview about Councilor Su must be approved by Greenhill Mansion, scr...cough...Brother Qing himself can’t be the master of it either!”

Zheng Qing silently rolled his eyes.

Greenhill Mansion definitely never made such a request, he had reason to believe the Fat Man was slyly trying to keep the most valuable interview material for himself amidst the information asymmetry.

Of course, if this excuse could quiet those frenzied and curious queries, Zheng Qing didn’t mind tacitly agreeing with Xin Fat Man’s remarks.

”I’m also a member of Atonement!”

Li Meng stood on his chair, theatrically waving his arms, trying to prove to the surrounding witches: ”Know Lin Guo, the guy from Alpha Academy who’s quite good at alchemy, he’s the manager of Atonement, really, I’m the deputy, don’t believe? Go ask him...”

Zheng Qing never knew that Atonement’s hunting team manager actually had a deputy.

But he was very sure that if someone wanted to verify this with Lin Guo, the little warlock would definitely bite his tongue and admit it. After all, among wizards of similar age, there’s only one of him, while there are two and a half little witches, and their backgrounds are immensely strong, far beyond what a little wizard like him can provoke.

Ultimately, it was Jiang Yu who stopped Li Meng’s excessive declarations.

Unlike the boys, Jiang Yu didn’t need to carry invisibility talismans when entering or exiting the classroom. Firstly, beautiful witches naturally carry defensive barriers around them; anyone actively approaching would experience a ’passive judgment’ three to five times. Those who pass the judgment can approach with thick skin, while those who fail automatically cover their faces and leave. Secondly, First University is, after all, a university; the warlocks on campus are still very gentlemanly and never trouble one beauty over another.

Even so, the number of wizards who summoned the courage to disturb Jiang Yu today increased several times, delaying her entry time much longer than expected—not only that, as the news fermented, more and more students believed the hearsay that Su Shijun would appear in Astronomy Class 08-1 today, resulting in a large gathering of students at the classroom door, making it nearly impossible for Jiang Yu to enter.

So when the witch entered and saw Li Meng gesticulating on the chair, her temper immediately worsened.

”Ge Zhitianxi!”

Without hesitation, she used the binding spell, with gnarled vines like the old wizard’s skeletal claws descending from the sky, lifting the little witch off the chair by her collar.

Then, angry, she looked around and scolded, ”Don’t you know class is about to start? What’s the point of gathering here making noise! Tang Dun! Are the assignments collected?”

The aura seemed like a real professor.

Li Meng sat at her position, shrinking her neck and opening the alchemy lecture notes, pretending to sketch with a feather pen; Tang Dun reluctantly gave up the opportunity to chat with Zhang Ji Xin, and after clearing his throat twice, started shouting to collect the assignments from the last alchemy lesson.

Others dispersed as well, returning to their positions, which made the classroom feel significantly brighter to Zheng Qing, and he gratefully looked at Jiang Yu.

But the witch had no time to pay attention to him, nor did she take a seat; instead, she blocked the classroom door, angrily reprimanding the idle people gathered there—mostly freshmen.

”And you!” She looked around holding her lecture notes: ”Greenhill Mansion is at No. 54, Beta Town West District, not at East 503 of the teaching building! Want to see Su Shijun, go block the entrance at Greenhill Mansion... What are you doing blocking here chaotically?”

”We’re just standing at the classroom door, we’re not causing any trouble!”

”Yeah, it’s our freedom!”

Several unidentified voices called from the crowd, slightly diminishing the witch’s aura, and even the chaos in the classroom seemed to be rekindling.

With a stern face, the witch pinned a badge representing the student council’s discipline on her chest.

The gathered freshmen instantly scattered.

Calm was restored.
