High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 2010: Chapter 231: Meet-and-Greet

Similar to most of her public appearances, Su Shijun was wearing her large red glasses tonight, concealing her features and not displaying her dazzling beauty.

But this didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the young wizards from the Absolution.

Hearing Xin Fat Man’s introduction, Su Shijun gave him a surprised glance.

”Ah, I remember you.”

The witch crossed one arm over her chest, extended a fair fingertip on her cheek, tapped thoughtfully, and said: ”Last year, Old Yao held a meeting for your class, and you were the first to ask a question... I remember you were just an apprentice journalist then... Now you can publish front pages? Impressive.”

A simple compliment had Xin Fat Man swelling with pride.

The others couldn’t stand his unsightly display and hurriedly dragged him backward.

”Hello, Councilor, I am Dylan O’Brien Tabot, studying at Starry Sky Academy, serving as a wandering hunter for the Absolution Hunting Team, and occasionally a hunter. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”

The Blood Werewolf followed closely behind Fat Man, politely greeting Su Shijun with a customary gesture of the Clans of the Moon, sporting a shy smile.

Zheng Qing noticed that his bow tie was impeccably tied, indicating he could put it on well even without a mirror.

”O’Brien and Tabot,” the Qingqiu Su Family heir curiously observed the half-blood in front of her and praised: ”Enviable talent.”

Dylan bowed modestly and stepped aside.

”Hello, Teacher!”

Zhang Ji Xin had his hands behind his back, feet slightly apart, with a loud and firm voice: ”I am Zhang Ji Xin, the main hunter of the Absolution Hunting Team. The whole team will resolutely follow your directions! Execute your orders! Accomplish every task you assign! Over!”

The last two words were almost shouted with all his might, nearly deafening Zheng Qing.

Su Shijun was clearly unaccustomed to this form of greeting, returning a perfunctory compliment: ”Thank you... The descendants of the Tianmen Zhang are indeed outstanding.”

The red-faced warlock stepped aside with a satisfied look.

”Hello, Senior! I am Xiao Xiao, the auxiliary hunter and diviner of the Absolution Hunting Team.”

Compared to the crude and reckless companions, Doctor Xiao clearly knew how to build rapport better, choosing an error-proof form of address, then somehow producing a bouquet of vibrant red carnations layered with tulips and understated baby’s breath, and flattered with an ingratiating manner:

”All members of the Absolution Hunting Team sincerely wish Senior eternal beauty, everlasting youth, and boundless mana... Our captain said, the simplest wish is the most sincere wish!”

At this, Zheng Qing almost swore out loud — when had he ever said such shameless words?

Among all teammates, perhaps only Student Blue Bird remained their usual calm.

”I am Blue Bird.”

These were the only four words he spoke.

However, after these four words, the swordsman from Starry Sky Academy appeared at a loss, awkwardly lifting an arm as if to wave, but noticed the gesture was inappropriate midway, diverted it to stroke the sable perched on his shoulder instead.

Zheng Qing watched with a numb expression as these guys walked past him one by one, without glancing his way, clustering around Su Daxu, wanting nothing more than to kick them in the rear.

”A very pretty sable.”

Su Shijun accepted Xiao Xiao’s bouquet, smilingly reached out a finger, and scratched the base of the sable’s ear. Usually composed Blue Bird displayed an expression like he was the one being scratched, emitting a nervous air, with ears turning into Zhang Ji Xin’s appearance.

And that usually grumpy sable, whether out of awe of the Big Wizard’s majesty, the Qingqiu Fox’s pressure, or the witch’s beauty, behaved uncharacteristically cooperative, almost like a clingy cat, docile and compliant.

Zheng Qing twitched his mouth.

Ha, a male sable.

He vividly recalled the first time seeing this sable on the school aircraft, with its fierce and combative stance, especially those sharp teeth, leaving a deep impression.

”Poseidon didn’t come with you?”

A young scholarship student followed a couple of steps forward, casually greeted the witch, then noticed the glance of a few hunters with a few degrees of danger, causing the warlock’s heart to jump, and the rest of his words came out stammering: ”You, I mean, I didn’t see Su Ya just now... She’s usually with Poseidon... I am Zheng Qing, the captain of the Absolution Hunting Team, a kind of main hunter... Also a wandering hunter... Very pleased... no... very honored to meet you!”

Having stumbled through, Zheng Qing finally felt reborn, able to breathe again.

Su Shijun’s eyes flickered, casting him a glance: ”Ah, that little one... probably still playing with Su Ya... I didn’t realize I needed to introduce myself again?”

The other warlocks all revealed envious expressions.

Zheng Qing felt the pressure mounting.

Luckily the witch didn’t dwell excessively on the detail, her gaze first resting on Jiang Yu, slightly smiling, then moving to Li Meng under Jiang Yu’s lightly pressed shoulder and Lin Guo beside him.

”Does your hunting team have such young wizards?” She finally showed a hint of surprise.

Jiang Yu hesitated slightly, then released his hand.

Li Meng immediately darted like an unrestrained rabbit to Su Shijun, brimming with fervor, eyes searching eagerly behind her as if looking for a fluffy big tail:

”Idol! I am Li Meng! Li of Plum, Meng of Sprout! I’m good friends with Su Ya! I often visit Greenhill Mansion! Last year at the meeting for our class, I also asked a question!”

”Oh oh, it’s you.” Su Shijun showed a hint of realization, instinctively extending her hand like petting Su Ya, and rubbed Li Meng’s head: ”Sorry... Su Ya is a bit busy tonight, can’t play with you...”

”No problem!” Li Meng squinted with enjoyment at Su Daxu’s caress, casually waved: ”Feel free to give her tasks, I’m not afraid she’s too busy!”

Zheng Qing thought that once Su Ya heard this, the two might end their friendship.

”Are you also in the Absolution Hunting Team?” Su Shijun glanced at Zheng Qing.

Without waiting for the boy to reply, Li Meng eagerly explained: ”Don’t be fooled by my age, I’m also a college student in my second year and am the hunting team manager for the Absolution...”

Lin Guo stood beside with a look of wanting to say something but hesitating.

”Well, to be precise, I’m the deputy. That silly boy next to me is the official manager,” Li Meng unwillingly corrected a bit but quickly added: ”He just came a bit earlier than me... he’s from Alpha, usually, a lot of the Absolution’s affairs in Jiuyou rely on me... uh, of course, my cousin also helps a lot...”

She pointed at Jiang Yu.

A thought suddenly exploded in Zheng Qing’s mind, finally realizing the source of his unease earlier — the incident about Jiang Yu claiming the invitation, he hadn’t yet discussed with Su Shijun!
