High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 2013: Chapter 234: Taking the Fall

Zheng Qing finally understood why he was drugged after hearing all this.

After the training session ended last night, the owner of the Greenhill Mansion asked the leader of the Absolution Hunting Team to escort her home under the pretense of ’late night’, ’alone’, and ’long distance’, and discuss the hunting team’s development plan on the way—Heaven knows, although it was midnight, Zheng Qing couldn’t imagine any risk a Big Wizard would face on Buji Island.

Moreover, is it really far from the Hunting Ground to Beta Town?

You just need to cross half of the academy!

But obviously, the young Warlocks with surging hormones, when considering this matter, had smoother brains than mirrors, reflecting nothing but all kinds of pulsating thoughts, totally devoid of much rationality.

As long as they could ’walk the streets’ with Su Shi Jun, does the truth still matter?

”Su Councilor doesn’t need us to send her home.”

The current leader of the Absolution Hunting Team feebly interrupted the argument in room 403, reminding, ”...Moreover, I didn’t escort her yesterday.”

”That’s because you had to go to the hospital,” Xiao Xiao reminded.

Zheng Qing was silent.

In fact, when Su Shi Jun made that request last night, Jiang Yu happened to sprain her foot and needed someone to escort her home. Just as Zheng Qing was in a dilemma, the Little Green Snake in his ear sneered, twisted its tail, and disturbed the circulation of his magic power, happily choosing to go to the school hospital.

Not that happy.

After all, it’s quite painful when magic power is disrupted—think of the abdominal cramps you get with diarrhea, then spread that pain throughout your body.

”Doctor Xiao, you have Teacher Sima, you shouldn’t get mixed up in this muddy water,” Xin Fat Man tried a different angle, persuading, ”Instead of pining lacking satisfaction, why not drink your own plain water... otherwise, it’s too painful.”

”Rubbish!”

In debates, Dr. Xiao never fears any opponent: ”Despicable! Vulgar! Lewd! Is your mind filled only with those filthy thoughts? Everyone desires beauty, magic is beautiful, nature is beautiful, and people can be beautiful... A wizard’s pursuit of beauty should never be shackled by any rules!”

Dylan was wiping his head with a towel as he came out of the washroom, and upon hearing this, he offered his wise suggestion: ”Doctor, you don’t need to explain such profound reasoning to Fat Man... When he mentioned ’plain water’, you should have pulled out the Law book and dueled to the death with him!”

”Even if both of us perish together, you can’t become the deputy leader,” Xin Fat Man crossed his arms and sneered, ”Zhang Ji Xin is your... and our, biggest obstacle.”

Indeed, the Fat Wizard’s skill with words is on a high level.

With just one sentence, he drew two previously red-faced opponents into the same camp, and the three immediately joined forces to discuss how to push aside that red-faced male wizard first.

Zheng Qing had to raise his voice slightly to remind again: ”I’m saying... Su Councilor doesn’t need us to send her home! And just because she needed it yesterday doesn’t mean she needs it today!”

”You can choose not to escort her, but if Su Councilor requests it, we would still oblige; it’s the etiquette that should be upheld by a hunting team.”

The Fat Wizard’s first sentence appeared concerned for the hunting team, but the latter exposed his true motives: ”Besides, if there’s even a one percent chance to stroll with Su Daxu, it’s worth a hundred percent effort!”

”Not just one percent,” Dylan corrected as he oiled his hair in front of the mirror, ”Even a one in a thousand... or ten thousand chance, is worth a thousand, ten thousand percent effort!”

The old dressing mirror shouted: ”Is it fashionable to go out with a mirror on your head now?... Idiot! If you have time to polish the black mirror on your head, you might as well take a moment to straighten your collar! Your bowtie is crooked again!”

Zheng Qing, overwhelmed by the clamorous atmosphere in the dormitory, grabbed two sheets of stationery from the desk, picked up a feather pen, and went to the balcony.

Then, under the dim starlight outside the window, he quickly wrote two letters and tossed two paper cranes out the window before anyone realized.

Turning around, Xiao Xiao was watching him vigilantly.

”What did you just write?” The diviner from Absolution was always particularly sharp when facing danger.

The other two roommates also turned their heads in curiosity.

Zheng Qing returned to the dormitory, cleared his throat, stole a glance at the direction of the dormitory door, then said leisurely, ”I wrote two letters... You don’t have to argue anymore... For the unity of the dormitory and the friendly atmosphere within the hunting team, I just flew paper cranes to Su Councilor and Jiang Yu. While I’m not here, Jiang Yu will act as the temporary hunting team leader... She’s the class monitor, has been hunting since childhood, and fought alongside Absolution on the Black Prison Battlefield; in terms of ability and experience, she’s definitely qualified.”

The other three were left dumbfounded.

Seeing this, Zheng Qing felt a sense of joy and seized the moment to push open the dormitory door and leave, with madness spewing curses left behind.

Upon stepping outside, under a sky full of stars, the Warlock realized a new set of troubles awaited him, and worry crept back in.

Today is Saturday.

Tonight by the Cat Fruit Tree, there’s the Seven Sins trial—originally he could find an excuse to avoid it, but after experiencing last night’s training, he’d rather deal with those mask-wearing folks.

At the very least, the Seven Sins crowd wouldn’t put him in a dilemma, or make him sweat cold sweat after cold sweat.

The only problem now is finding a place to transform into a cat, allowing him to travel to the Cat Fruit Tree. However, outside the dormitory, finding a secure location to change isn’t easy—at this hour, most study rooms and labs are filled with diligent students, while the rest is occupied by hormone-fueled young men and women.

As for the wildlands, besides students hiding behind bushes, there are wandering cats, dogs, and even pigs. Zheng Qing pondered for a while and still couldn’t find an ideal spot.

Just when he was hesitating, a shiny bald head appeared before him.

”Finally caught you,” Monk Shi Yuan stared at the young cost student with tearful eyes, full of righteous anger: ”You got Su Shi Jun as a guiding teacher, why didn’t you inform me beforehand?”

Zheng Qing was shocked: ”Even a monk can have such mundane desires?”

”Namo Amitabha!”

Monk Shi Yuan collected his tears and was suddenly furious: ”Cultivation is cultivation, being a monk is being a monk, Monk is a monk, mundane desires are mundane! How can they be mixed?... Besides, I’m searching for you because many at Atlas Academy know I’m from the Forgiveness Knight Order, so they’re giving me trouble! You need to carry this burden for me!”
