Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 901: Chapter 443: Turmoil—As One Finishes Singing, Another Takes the Stage (First Update)

Kenneth Osborne stepped aside a bit, and the woman prudently withdrew her hand, but she continued to look at Kenneth Osborne with a smile, the infatuation on her face clearly visible even from a distance.

Lawrence Winters rolled his eyes, thinking no wonder Kenneth Osborne managed to get a ticket; that woman was Caitlin Gilbert.

She had only met her once at the Stetford Family, but was deeply impressed by this egg-family woman’s slender eyes, full lips, and honey-colored skin.

And Kenneth Osborne had just divorced her and was quickly attracting flirts, even cursing her ”next divorce,” which made Lawrence Winters grind his teeth in anger.

She really wanted to go home and create a voodoo doll of Kenneth Osborne, cursing him to be unable to take care of himself...

But it was only a moment of wicked thought, and she soon gathered her thoughts and recited a few lines of the Tao Te Ching to cultivate herself.

They were divorced, so they had nothing to do with each other anymore.

Whoever Kenneth Osborne was with, she had no right to comment.

Indeed, love is always fleeting. She should have stuck to her beliefs from the beginning, not married, and remained friends forever.

She forcefully turned her head back, looking towards the direction of the entrance.

More and more audience members were coming in, and the audience seats on the second floor, whether in rows or boxes, were all packed.

Not long after, two rows of strong men in black suddenly walked in, standing on both sides of the aisle from the entrance to the circular round stage with The Dual Flow Fish, like two rows of fences, excluding all these ”idle persons.”

Then, two teams of etiquette ladies in cheongsams walked in, standing on both sides of the aisle, right in front of those bodyguards in black.

The contrast between black and white was striking, and the atmosphere immediately sprang to life.

The theater fell silent, and all eyes turned to the entrance.

An ethereal music played, clear and soothing, with celestial sounds that offered a calming power.

This was a traditional melody unique to the Celestial Path Sect.

Lawrence Winters rarely listened to it but she knew of these melodies.

Because some TV series that tell ancient mythological stories use such traditional Celestial Path music as the soundtrack, making her think of ”Dylan’s Three Games with Daisy White” when hearing this music... What a sin, what a sin.

Lawrence Winters almost clasped her hands together in a Buddhist gesture to signify her remorse for thinking so randomly.

However, other people in the theater were not as scattered in their thoughts as hers.

Everyone was intently staring at the entrance of the theater.

Soon, five middle-aged and older adults wearing Celestial Path attire walked in.

They were the five judges from the Grant Branch, all esteemed and skilled in the Celestial Path Skill, being senior figures who hadn’t participated in this kind of competition anymore.

After them, five men in suits walked in one after another.

Among them, three were white people with high noses, blue eyes, and white skin; two were yellow-skinned people.

Lawrence Winters knew these five were the five eminent scientific judges she helped Evan Stetford select.

When the five Daoists walked in, everyone both onstage and offstage cheered in unison because they were recognized by all present.

Their disciples, relatives, and friends were all in this hall, and they naturally cheered to create an atmosphere upon seeing them.

The atmosphere in the hall became lively again.

But when the five scientists walked in afterward, everyone quickly quieted down.

The Celestial Path Sect’s world cup of the grand chief competition held every four years had never had participation from other races.

Very few knew what these five were here for.

However, these five were used to seeing great matters and didn’t care much about others’ thoughts, chatting and laughing amongst themselves as they followed the five Daoists onto the circular round stage at the center of the hall.

Once these ten judges were seated, an announcer stood on the round stage, loudly announced into a microphone: ”Now, we invite Mr. Evan Stetford, the president of Stetford Limited Company, Mr. Richard Stetford, the chairman, and the Supreme Judge Mr. Quentin Parker, to enter!”

As the announcer’s clear and bright voice fell, the music playing in the hall changed, no longer elegant and serene, but solemn and majestic.

At the entrance of the hall, Evan Stetford in a suit walked beside Richard Stetford in traditional Chinese attire, the two looked clearly like father and son, with a hint of familiarity in their expressions that showed a good relationship.

After walking in, they didn’t hurry towards the circular round stage, but stood apart on both sides of the aisle, watching the entrance.

Everyone was even more surprised.

This was to welcome the ”Supreme Judge”?!

In the midst of everyone’s surprised gazes, Quentin Parker, tall and elegant, dressed in a tailcoat, walked slowly into the venue.

He paused at the entrance, raised his hand, and glanced around at everyone.

His charming peach blossom eyes slightly sparkled, and the corners of his lips curved upwards.

In that single glance, it seemed like he saw everyone, yet also no one, an affectionate yet condescending gaze.

Everyone felt acknowledged, warmth mixed with suppression—a kind of presence that only a genuinely superior person possesses.

Lawrence Winters’ pupils shrank sharply.

Quentin Parker’s demeanor was completely beyond the simple identity of a top lawyer.

It seemed she needed to be more respectful...

On the viewers’ seats, some people’s eyes were almost falling out.

The Daoists waiting for the competition on the first floor did not know who Quentin Parker was.

But every one of the audience members on the second floor was either wealthy or powerful.

Anyone with age and a certain status in family business or society, among the Chinese diaspora, knew the name ”Quentin Parker.”

”Is it Mr. Parker?!”

”Has Mr. Parker returned?!”

”Mr. Parker has appeared!”

In the box where the Sheldon Family and Stetford Family sat, Autumn Stetford, Ava Harlow, and Spring Spencer were all amazed.

Aiden Sheldon was also stunned, ”Is it really Mr. Parker?”

He walked to the window of the box, gazing carefully.

Only Ruby Sheldon was out of the loop, just looking at that dashing man who had just entered, her face flushed, saying, ”... This guy is so handsome! Mom, can we invite him over for dinner?”

Kenneth Osborne wasn’t aware of Quentin Parker’s reputation because he didn’t pay attention to gossip news.

He had never been in touch with Quentin Parker’s circle before either.

But seeing those influential figures onstage becoming so excited and losing control, he turned his head to ask Caitlin Gilbert beside him, ”... Is this Quentin Parker very famous?”

”Of course he’s famous! The renowned Mr. Parker! The legendary Underground Godfather of South America! Lifetime professor at Harvard Law School! Partner at the largest law firm here! He has too many auras on him!”

Kenneth Osborne: ”...”

The Underground Godfather of South America and a lifetime professor at Harvard Law School, how did these polar opposite identities blend into one person?

But seen from the looks on people’s faces, it didn’t seem like bragging.

If this was true, it only showed that he lacked knowledge.

For the first time, he felt a pressing need to broaden his horizons.
