Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 917: Chapter 449: How Is That Possible? (First Update)

Lawrence Winters ignored him completely.

As soon as he steadied himself, he launched a flying kick towards the man’s face!

The man was still fiddling with the muscles on his arms and was caught off guard when Lawrence’s long leg kicked him in the face!

He was indeed skilled, immediately executing a backbend, his body falling backward nearly ninety degrees to dodge Lawrence’s flying kick!

Lawrence’s first kick missed, but he didn’t retract his leg. Instead, using the momentum of the kick, he swung in a ninety-degree arc in mid-air, landing and then sending out a second kick like a spinning windmill.

The man dodged Lawrence’s first kick with his backbend, but just as he got up, he was met with Lawrence’s second kick!

Bam!

His chest was hit by Lawrence’s kick, and he slid back seven or eight steps, leaving two rubber shoe sole marks on the wooden platform of the ring.

Yet, he didn’t fall.

Not only did he remain standing, but he also used the backward momentum to dissipate the force of Lawrence’s fierce kick, while simultaneously launching a lightning-fast attack on her!

His punches were swift, like a tiger clashing with the wind.

Lawrence blocked a couple of times, realizing this man’s strength was truly formidable...

Though she could fight, she was still made of flesh and blood. Even blocking his attacks with her arms was painful.

So she stopped going head-to-head with him, instead using her agility to dodge his attacks, leaping and maneuvering around him.

The spectators in the hall were quickly captivated by their duel.

The scientist judges watched with great interest.

They knew Chinese people practiced martial arts, but they didn’t expect that real fighting would be even more thrilling than the movies!

Lawrence Winters and the burly man fought for barely three minutes, with his attacks becoming stronger, his breathing steady, manipulating his power with minimal effort.

She only had two minutes left.

If she couldn’t defeat this man within two minutes, she would lose.

And, of course, Lawrence didn’t want to lose a single match.

However, her disadvantage was that she hadn’t undergone systematic training in Celestial Path Martial Arts like this man.

The martial arts she learned were survival skills taught to her by people Nick Zeller found.

They worked for dealing with ordinary martial artists, like the security personnel here, whose skills were average and who relied more on guns.

But against a true Celestial Path expert, her skills just weren’t sufficient.

Another minute passed, and the burly man suddenly punched towards her abdomen.

Lawrence hurriedly stepped back to dodge.

The man suddenly retracted his punch, stepping back a few steps for a running start, then launching into a flying horizontal kick, parallel to the platform.

His feet kicked in rapid succession like a Fire and Wind Wheels, instantly landing three kicks.

Lawrence didn’t have time to dodge and was hit on her left shoulder.

She was about to be kicked off, when suddenly, in haste, she performed a perfect split, then quickly leaned back, almost lying flat against her extended back leg.

This ”tactical backbend” was executed to perfection.

In this way, she managed to evade the burly man’s chain attack.

Then, with a half circular kick from the platform, she nimbly jumped back up onto the ring.

After executing this ”Sky Shadowless Kick,” the burly man seemed to have expended a lot of Inner Strength, and was slightly out of breath, ceasing his attack momentarily, allowing Lawrence to seize the chance to evade.

By now, everyone in the hall could see that Lawrence was just dodging, clearly not as skilled as her opponent.

Autumn Stetford sighed with relief from the bottom of his heart, feeling as if he had come back to life.

He initially thought this girl was very formidable, but it turned out to be just so-so.

Ruby Sheldon even voiced her sentiments directly, ”Oh wow! I thought Miss Winter was really amazing! But she’s almost getting knocked down...”

Kenneth Osborne’s brows furrowed tighter, clenching his fists.

Seeing Lawrence merely defending without the ability to fight back, he couldn’t help but ask, ”...Is it dangerous? Can we call for a pause?”

Aiden Sheldon didn’t understand, and glanced at Autumn Stetford.

Noticing his gaze, Autumn immediately smiled and said, ”It’s almost over anyway, after all, it’s only five minutes, not a matter of life and death, don’t worry, at most just a few bruises.”

Kenneth pursed his lips, wanting very much to go down and rescue Lawrence, but ever since the contest began that afternoon, the stairs to the second floor were guarded, and they couldn’t get down.

Spring Spencer and Ava Harlow stood behind them watching the match in the hall, though Ava wasn’t very interested in the fighting ring, she was more interested in the four platforms dedicated to Feng Shui and Face Reading.
