Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 929: Chapter 453: A Night of Budding Spring Feelings (Second Update)_2

However, for a young girl, falling for a handsome guy only requires a moment of heart-pounding excitement.

Especially when this handsome guy is very polite, knowledgeable, if you add a bit of a career filter, wow, that’s simply the prototype of a perfect lover.

When she ran back to the iron gate and dashed along the path in front of the mansion, she had already imagined herself dating Kenneth Osborne, getting married, and having several kids.

By the time she ran up the steps, she had envisioned which private schools the kids would attend.

Therefore, when she encountered Lawrence Winters dragging his suitcase head-on, she almost ran into him.

Of course, Lawrence could have stepped aside, but she didn’t want to.

If Ruby Sheldon dared to bump into her, she was willing to stand there to let her crash.

Let’s see who would end up worse...

But in the end, Ruby Sheldon stopped.

She glared at Lawrence Winters, momentarily at a loss, and said in surprise, ”What are you doing here?”

Lawrence Winters: ”...”

I’ve been staying here for the past few days, is this girl blind or oblivious?

Should I be tolerant towards someone who’s blind and oblivious?

Lawrence Winters mused silently, not lifting her eyelids as she said, ”I’m about to leave, Miss Sheldon, could you please step aside?”

Ruby Sheldon subconsciously took a step back.

At that moment, Evan Stetford finally got the news and hurriedly came downstairs, anxiously saying, ”Lawrence! Lawrence! Why are you moving out so suddenly? It’s already so late, stay for tonight.”

Lawrence Winters turned back and smiled, saying, ”Evan, I just sent you a message on WeChat. The official competition starts tomorrow, it’s not appropriate for me to stay here any longer.”

Evan Stetford understood she was trying to avoid gossip.

He is the chairman of the organizing committee, during the preliminary rounds, he could just barely gloss over it, it didn’t require judges’ scores.

But during the official competition, if she continued staying at his house, it would imply a special relationship between them, which could easily be used against her.

He wasn’t unaware, just found it hard to accept.

In just a few days, he had already gotten used to seeing her bright smile when he got home, accustomed to talking with her, and sharing goodnights.

Ruby Sheldon felt uncomfortable seeing Evan Stetford talking to Lawrence Winters as if no one else was around.

She now truly had Kenneth Osborne in her heart, but Evan Stetford, the little uncle she has liked since childhood, was not someone she was willing to give up.

She put her hands behind her back, pouting, and said, ”Little Uncle, Miss Winters really isn’t suited to live with us, I’ve been meaning to say that for a while...”

It was only then that Evan Stetford noticed the petite Ruby Sheldon.

She was wearing a tracksuit, her face flushed with redness, with shimmering beads of sweat on her forehead, obviously just returning from a night run outside.

Evan Stetford, instinctively worried, said, ”So late, and you went out for a run? You just got back from the hospital today, how can you recover like this?”

”Oh! Little Uncle is concerned about me! Alright, I’ll listen to Little Uncle and go freshen up and sleep now.” Ruby Sheldon, having just touched on the nerves of romantic feelings, as if opening the door to a new world, spoke much more boldly, no longer timid and shy like before.

Evan Stetford looked baffled.

He wasn’t accustomed to this new side of Ruby Sheldon.

Lawrence Winters found it amusing.

She glanced at Ruby Sheldon’s back and muttered quietly, ”Miss Sheldon is lovestruck; she’s found someone she fancies, I’m happy for you, Evan...”

Evan Stetford was even more surprised, ”What are you congratulating me for?”

Of course, because Ruby will no longer be pestering you...

Lawrence Winters left the unspoken truth unsaid, patted him on the shoulder, and said with a smile, ”I’m leaving, keep in touch by phone if there’s anything.”

Seeing that he couldn’t persuade her to stay, Evan Stetford quickly said, ”I’ll get the car keys and drive you to the hotel. Your room at the Half Moon Hotel is still held for you.”

Lawrence Winters’ expression froze, blurting out, ”...Huh? I haven’t stayed there yet, do I still have to pay?”

Evan Stetford couldn’t help but laugh, her words instantly lightening his somber mood, ”No, you won’t have to pay. It’s my hotel; you can stay for free, for life.”

Lawrence Winters covered her mouth with a laugh, ”There’s no need for that. I’ll still pay when I stay; no need for free, Evan.”

”Oh? Won’t even take something free, is this the little miser Lawrence I know?” Evan Stetford teased her with a smile, bending over to help her with the suitcase.

Lawrence Winters said, ”Free things are often the most expensive, don’t you know, Evan?”

The two joked and chatted as they reached the stairs at the mansion’s entrance.

From there to the iron gate, it would take at least ten minutes to walk.

She didn’t feel like walking, but Evan Stetford had already called for a little car to drive her, the kind used at home, similar to those on golf courses, customized, electric-powered, and very eco-friendly.
