Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 938: Chapter 456: Impossible Not to Become Popular (First Update)

Sure enough, after Lawrence Winters’ close-up aired, the topic ”Celestial Path Sect World Cup Champion Leader” exploded and reached the top of the trending list.

Lawrence not only gained her first batch of fans but also a ”Lawrence Heavenly Master Super Topic,” which became a gathering place for her fans.

At the same time, the resumes of the other seven people were also released for everyone to observe.

As it turns out, only ”Lawrence Heavenly Master” came from the domestic side, while the other seven people were overseas Chinese.

This further boosted Lawrence’s support rate.

Major live streaming platforms, TV channels, and online video platforms noticed the program’s trending topics and viewership rates, and all approached the preparatory committee to negotiate the purchase of streaming rights.

However, Evan Stetford had already signed an exclusive live streaming contract with Nick Zeller, as they planned to create their own Celestial Path Sect exclusive streaming platform, thus they could only sell secondary broadcasting rights to the big players.

The primary live streaming rights and broadcast rights were held by the Celestial Path Sect APP. They were advised to negotiate for broadcast rights with the owner of the Celestial Path Sect APP.

Nick Zeller naturally had ways to ensure that during broadcasting, they could only broadcast content from the Celestial Path Sect APP, as if he was sharing the APP’s content with other streaming platforms and TV stations.

...

Lawrence Winters stood on the balcony for a while, then noticed a camouflaged drone not far away.

She made a V sign towards the drone, waved, turned back into the room, closed the floor-to-ceiling window, and drew the curtains.

The live feed from the drone abruptly stopped.

The director calmly switched the feed to the terrace where the other people were.

They were sitting on the terrace, drinking water and eating snacks.

After a while, the host came over to ask them to go have a meal.

After eating, they would go to the client’s place to get ready for work.

Lawrence Winters didn’t change her clothes, still carrying her small backpack, she boarded the car with everyone else to go to DC Chinatown for lunch.

It was already past two in the afternoon, technically quite late for lunch.

There were many Northeastern cuisine restaurants here, and the guide chose a restaurant for them that served quite authentic Northeastern dishes.

Huge meat buns stuffed with ribs, sauerkraut stewed with big bones, a cold dish of shredded cucumber, vermicelli, and finely chopped cilantro mixed with thinly sliced omelette strips, plus a big plate of stewed beans and braised pork.

Lawrence almost swallowed her tongue.

She usually likes Southern cuisine, but this time she found Northeastern food quite to her taste too.

Especially the huge meat buns stuffed with ribs and the stewed beans with braised pork—she couldn’t stop eating them.

Evan Stetford and the other seven Daoists preferred the cold dish and the sauerkraut stewed with big bones, so nobody competed with her for the dishes she liked.

After the meal, Lawrence felt a tad constricted by the elastic waistband of her sweatpants.

She decided to take a walk to the client’s place instead of riding in the car, taking the opportunity to digest a bit.

Mr. Zhuge was reluctant to walk, wanting to save his energy for observing the client’s home environment later, not wanting to waste his strength on mundane walking.

However, Daoist Wang was willing to walk, so the host left the guide with Lawrence and Daoist Wang, and took the rest of the crew on the car to the client’s place.

The client’s home was located on the periphery of DC Chinatown, not in the bustling downtown area, but already in the suburbs.

There weren’t many residents nearby; the further in you went, the more you saw large Victorian colonial-style houses.

Expansive lawns surrounded them, and within sight were either horse arenas or beautifully landscaped sports grounds, including tennis and basketball courts, a backyard swimming pool, and even a small soccer field set up in one backyard.

About a dozen five- to six-year-old girls, of white, black, and Asian descent, were all dressed in tiny soccer uniforms and socks, chasing soccer balls on the lush greens.

Lawrence watched in amazement, ”...Are these kids playing soccer?”

The guide, a young Asian man in his twenties, had stolen countless glances at Lawrence.

Upon hearing Lawrence’s question, he immediately replied, ”Yes, here soccer is primarily played by girls; boys rarely play. Among boys, only immigrants from Latin America play soccer from a young age.”

Lawrence understood, nodding as she said, ”No wonder the national women’s soccer team here is strong, though even a weak men’s team here is stronger than ours.”
