Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 926: Chapter 452: A Beautiful Misunderstanding (First Update)_2

”It’s time to uphold the reputation of our Chinese technology on the international stage!”

Quentin Parker swirled the red wine glass in his hand, intently watching Kenneth Osborne.

After a while, he shifted his gaze expressionlessly and said coolly, ”You look very familiar, yet I can’t recall who you resemble. But I’m sure that if this person were in your position, they’d make the same choice.”

Lawrence Winters listened curiously, resting her chin on her right hand, blinking her big eyes, and asked, ”Mr. Parker, how can you not remember who it is, but know what they would do? That’s so strange.”

Quentin Parker’s charming eyes flickered lightly, saying, ”I find it strange too. Maybe it’s because I had a serious illness a few years ago that damaged the brainstem cells, and I haven’t fully recovered.”

He curled his finger and tapped his head lightly.

Lawrence Winters suddenly remembered Ian Lothrop once saying Quentin Parker had issues with his brain...

Could it be a literal issue?

Did his head suffer from a sickness?

Was it a head injury, or an internal problem in the brain?

If Kenneth Osborne wasn’t here, Lawrence Winters would have asked.

But with Kenneth Osborne present, Lawrence Winters instinctively refrained from asking, sensing this might involve Quentin Parker’s privacy, which shouldn’t be mentioned in front of a third person.

She discreetly changed the topic, sympathetically saying, ”Your head was injured? That’s really unfortunate, we shouldn’t burden you with such matters. Please take care and find time to visit places rich in oxygen, it might help with brain recovery.”

Quentin Parker was amused by her, put down the wine glass, and said, ”My injury healed long ago, but the memory cells may not recover. However, it doesn’t affect my professional competence.”

He looked at Kenneth Osborne and once again confirmed, ”Mr. Osborne, you truly intend to respond to the lawsuit? Regardless of the consequences? Because, just as you said, there’s a high possibility you might lose.”

”Yes, even if I might lose, I must respond to the lawsuit.” Kenneth Osborne nodded firmly.

Lawrence Winters quickly said, ”Don’t say such things! What do you mean by losing? It’s inauspicious! We have to win! We must win!”

She looked at Quentin Parker with anticipation, displaying full trust and dependence, and inquired, ”Right, Mr. Parker? With your involvement, we definitely can win!”

Quentin Parker silently gazed at her, feeling a familiar sense from her expression.

But he couldn’t think deeply about it, as it would cause a headache.

Thus, he merely followed his instinct, slightly curling his lips, and said, ”Miss Winters trusts me this much?”

”Mr. Parker is too polite, just call me Lawrence.” Lawrence Winters flatteringly poured wine for Quentin Parker and said, ”Mr. Parker, please help us! We only ask for a fair trial process. I estimate that only with you representing us, those foreigners wouldn’t dare blatantly disregard the law to force a loss on us!”

Quentin Parker chuckled, ”Alright, Lawrence.”

He wasn’t an easy person to deal with, but due to that sense of familiarity with Lawrence Winters, he was quite indulgent toward her.

Quentin Parker is a partner at the country’s largest law firm, and he never transferred his partnership status when he left a few years back.

He pondered for a moment, saying, ”My lawyer’s license hasn’t been restored yet, but I can have my team here handle your case.”

He then said to Kenneth Osborne, ”However, before we sign the contract, could you send me a copy of the original code program you wrote? I’d like to make a detailed comparison.”

Kenneth Osborne hesitated a bit.

Those are confidential documents, not only under copyright but also considered commercial secrets.

Lawrence Winters didn’t understand these matters, sitting cautiously by the side, not daring to speak, fearing it might affect the communication between the two.

Quentin Parker noticed Kenneth Osborne’s concern, smiled, and said, ”As an exchange, I’ll send you an AI software program, something I casually wrote out of boredom back at home. Although it doesn’t match your special effects software, it does have unique aspects. You’ll understand once you see it.”

He then took out his phone, asked Kenneth Osborne for his number, and sent him a file.

Kenneth Osborne opened it and glanced at it briefly, immediately looked up in surprise, and said, ”Mr. Parker, you write code too?! That’s truly remarkable!”

An expert can immediately discern the quality.

A lawyer who understands computer software helping him fight the copyright company would undoubtedly be twice as effective!

Kenneth Osborne immediately felt invigorated and promptly sent his already packed source file to Quentin Parker’s phone.
