Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 907: Chapter 445: Who Are You? (First Update)

They’re all knocked to the ground by her.

Some of these people are holding their legs, some are covering their arms, and others are covering their noses and eyes, or rubbing their bent legs, all wailing incessantly on the ground.

Lawrence Winters’ face darkened, his gaze sharp as lightning, and he looked toward the people on the round high platform, coldly saying, ”...Is this the attitude of your organizing committee? Can’t solve the problem, so solve the people who point it out instead?”

Evan Stetford then walked over and said into the microphone in a calm voice, ”What’s going on down there? Our organizing committee did not instruct anyone to deal with this female contestant.”

”If not you, then who?” Lawrence asked unceremoniously, stepping on the person who fell flat on their face, pointing at these people, ”Four big men attacking a weak woman, do you have no shame?”

A weak woman fighting four men?

Everyone: ...

Lawrence continued indignantly, ”Or is it that your Grant Branch intends to annihilate our Zhang Branch?! If so, then don’t call it the Celestial Path Sect World Cup! Just call it the Grant Branch World Cup instead! — We at the Celestial Path Sect aren’t that despicable or shameless!”

She cupped her hands and introduced herself, ”I am Lawrence Winters, the seventy-ninth generation direct disciple of the Zhang Branch, ready to learn from the brilliance of you Grant Branch experts! — As I said before, if you change the name, I won’t participate in your competition!”

”Otherwise, my victory wouldn’t be honorable!”

She deliberately acted disdainfully, just to provoke the Grant Branch people.

Sure enough, the higher-ups of the Grant Branch couldn’t sit still.

They didn’t know what was going on with those men in black either, and they all stated it had nothing to do with them.

Lawrence raised her long unpainted jade-like eyebrows and said to Evan Stetford on the round high platform, ”Mr. Stetford, you’re the chairman of the organizing committee and the new generation leader of the Stetford Family. Is this how you brush off our Zhang Branch? We may be few, but we’re not easy to bully!”

She kept claiming to be ”bullied,” but seeing the muscular man whining under her foot, everyone couldn’t help but twitch their lips.

Evan Stetford said in a deep voice, ”These people are indeed not from our branch.”

He beckoned his confidant over and said, ”Ask them what’s going on.”

Only then did Lawrence release her foot, letting others help those four people up.

”Speak up, who sent you to attack the Zhang Branch disciple?”

At first, these people didn’t want to speak.

The interrogator’s face darkened, annoyed, ”Don’t think I can’t do anything to you. With so many people here, someone will see what’s happening, do you think you can get away by not speaking?”

Those four weren’t foolish, they mumbled for a while, but refused to say who it was.

They knew they had already offended Evan Stetford, and if they offended the young mistress too, they’d truly be done for.

So they gritted their teeth and kept silent.

Autumn Stetford watched for a while, feeling quite satisfied, and walked over with a regal demeanor.

Her ten-centimeter high heels were so slender they could be used as weapons.

The necklace of imperial green jadeite glass shone brightly under the crystal lights of the grand theater.

Her long velvet cheongsam dragged along the ground, covering her slender heels.

She walked up to Lawrence Winters, smiling gently, and said, ”...It’s all a misunderstanding. I thought someone was deliberately causing trouble, and didn’t know it was Miss Lawrence Winters, the sole direct disciple of the Zhang Branch, who had arrived. My apologies.”

Lawrence glanced at her and laughed, ”...And who might you be?”

Autumn Stetford: ”...”

The smile on her face almost faltered.

She was used to being surrounded by admirers and recognized wherever she went.

Though she always claimed she wanted to ”keep a low profile,” when genuinely treated as such, she couldn’t stand it.

Her brows furrowed imperceptibly, she said indifferently, ”I’m the eldest daughter of the Stetford Family, the Celestial Path Sect World Cup has always been organized by us Stetfords.”

”The Stetford’s eldest daughter? How old are you?” Lawrence sneered, ”Are you a member of the current organizing committee?”

Clearly already married, yet trying to use the ”Stetford” name to gloss over things, Lawrence wouldn’t let her off so easily.

Autumn Stetford: ”...”

”I’m the eldest daughter of the Stetford Family, is that not enough? Though I’m not a member of this organizing committee, I was chairman of the previous four committees, and this year’s chairman is my younger brother, is that not enough?”

”Of course, it’s not enough. I only recognize the authority and validity of the current organizing committee. Since you’re not a member of the current committee, you can’t meddle with me regardless of your last name.” Lawrence crossed her arms proudly, ”So were you the one who ordered me to be kicked out earlier?”

Autumn Stetford raised her chin, ”I said it was a misunderstanding. If you weren’t intentionally creating a disruption, no one wanted to kick you out.”

”Just answer if it was you or not, save the roundabout explanation,” Lawrence snorted, showing even more disdain.

Autumn Stetford was furious.

She already had prejudices against Lawrence Winters, and seeing her act like this, disrespecting her in public, made her even more enraged.

But she knew she had no grounds in this matter, and that Lawrence was good at twisting arguments, if she continued, she’d only humiliate herself, so she just let out a cold laugh, turning her back to walk away.

Lawrence Winters wouldn’t let her get away so easily.

She suddenly exerted force with her foot, kicking a long bench in the direction where Autumn Stetford was leaving.

Autumn Stetford heard the wind and quickly sidestepped.

If she were wearing flats, there’d be no problem.

However, wearing high heels and a floor-length cheongsam, her left foot stumbled over her right foot, and the center of gravity of the high heels immediately became unstable.

With a softening of her legs, she knelt straight down to the ground.

Lawrence lightly tapped her toes, jumping gracefully into the air, flipping agilely like a falcon, and lightly landed, intercepting the bench before kicking it sideways under her.

Thud!

At this moment, Autumn Stetford knelt on the ground just in front of Lawrence, nearly kowtowing to her!

Lawrence beamed and raised her hand toward her, ”Since Miss Stetford is so earnestly kneeling, I won’t pursue this further.”

”Tut-tut, Miss Stetford truly lives up to her reputation, such poise and grace, I applaud you!”
