Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 900: Chapter 443: Turmoil on Stage, Chaos Behind the Scenes (First Update)

Lawrence Winters: ”...”

The middle-aged fat Daoist looked around, seeing the Daoist nun had already left, whispered again: ”Back then, I wanted to join the Zhang Branch, but unfortunately was tricked into joining the Grant Branch, and thus I worshipped...”

Lawrence Winters: ”...”

She casually smiled: ”It’s a pity, our Zhang Branch is very strict in accepting disciples and is quite low-key, unlike the Grant Branch, hanging a sign for sheep but selling dog meat.”

The middle-aged fat Daoist laughed out loud, then reminded her: ”... Our Grant Branch people are domineering, young lady, you’re young and vigorous, speaking up for your sect is the right thing, but don’t throw eggs at stones. Moreover, young lady, you’re jade, they’re just stones, it’s not worth it to smash yourself to pieces for a few broken stones...”

This was a reminder to Lawrence Winters not to be too aggressive, or else she’d meet a ”jade shattered” fate.

Lawrence Winters looked at this person seriously for a few moments, ensuring he was a Daoist of good character, then said: ”Thank you for the reminder, sir, may I know your surname?”

”No need for formality, surname is Wang.”

”So it’s Mr. Wang.” Lawrence Winters clasped her hands together in respect.

She was dressed fashionably, exquisite, and modern, but when she clasped her hands in the ancient salute, she still exuded an ancient elegance, like snow on the mountain, like springs in the woods.

Daoist Wang stared for a moment, quickly performing the Daoist ritual of ”One Qi Transforms into The Three Pure Ones.”

While the two were talking, they were almost at the entrance of the grand theater.

There were people checking the list, confirming identities, others using electronic detectors to search bodies, those entering were not allowed to bring any electronic devices, not even electronic watches.

Over three hundred people for the initial selection, it took ten minutes, all went inside.

Lawrence Winters had never been to this grand theater before, now upon entering, she found the decorations truly original.

The entire theater had obviously been remodeled, looking like a boxing ring.

All the soft chairs in the hall were removed, replaced by eight ”boxing ring”-like high platforms arranged around the venue.

In the center of the hall was a taller circular high platform, like a beacon protruding from a mountain peak, overlooking those eight ”boxing rings.”

Below the circular high platform were many long benches and chairs, clearly for the contestants to sit on.

Lawrence Winters looked at the positions of the eight ”boxing rings”, understanding the situation.

These were arranged according to the positions of the Eight Trigrams, the central circular high platform featured one black and one white color, obviously representing The Dual Flow Fish.

If she wasn’t mistaken, the judges and top organizers should be seated on the central circular high platform.

The second floor of the hall circled the venue, all were viewing stands for the audience, with seats connected in a line, as well as separate boxes.

Lawrence Winters followed Daoist Wang all the way inside.

Both of them received a small jade token distributed at the entrance, with numbers written on it, both as a souvenir of this competition and as their identity numbers for this preliminary selection.

Lawrence Winters’ jade token read ”326”, Daoist Wang’s token read ”325”.

The two walked around the venue, found a long bench and sat down.

Once all the Daoists participating entered, then the outside audience gradually entered the venue.

Lawrence Winters picked a spot in a shadowed area, from her position, looking at other places, including the second-floor audience areas was convenient, but it was difficult for others to see her.

Especially the second-floor audience area, it was directly a blind spot for their view.

So Lawrence Winters could quietly sit in the dark, seeing some familiar faces enter the second-floor box.

Ava Harlow and Spring Spencer from the Spencer Family were following Autumn Stetford and Ruby Sheldon inside.

They occupied the best, most spacious box for viewing the entire second floor of the hall.

Then entered Ruby Sheldon’s dog father, Aiden Sheldon.

His brows were tightly furrowed, his expression focused and serious, unsure of what nonsense he was thinking.

Then a few men she didn’t recognize came in, judging by their attire, they should be bodyguards of the Sheldon Family or Stetford Family.

They clearly stood in prominent positions, shielding those inside the box from possible ambush angles using their bodies.

Lawrence Winters frowned, her gaze unintentionally swept past this box, the corner of her eye catching sight of a smaller box next door.

The person inside the box happened to walk to the window, frowning at the chaotic hall.

Lawrence Winters blinked.

Whom did she see?!

How could it be Kenneth Osborne?!

Why would he come to watch this type of competition?

Didn’t he look down on the Celestial Path Sect?

He claimed to disdain ”crooked paths and evil ways”?

Lawrence Winters rubbed her eyes, worried she was seeing things.

Just as she thought she had seen incorrectly, she saw a honey-toned-skinned woman walk up next to Kenneth Osborne, attempting to grab his arm.
