Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 933: Chapter 454: Abnormal and Supernatural (First Update)_3

This includes how she suddenly came to understand the concept of ”Inner Strength” during her match on the arena yesterday.

This is not mysticism, but science.

However, looking at this contract, it clearly states that ”The preparatory committee bears no legal responsibility for accidents caused by circumstances beyond human control. Competitors assume their own risks.”

She frowned and read it several times before slowly signing her name.

While the other seven people had long signed and handed over their contracts.

After submitting hers, she softly asked Daoist Wang, ”Daoist Wang, did you finish reading the contract so quickly?”

”...Finish reading? Are you joking? With so many pages, I couldn’t finish reading until tomorrow.” Daoist Wang snorted, ”I just found where to sign, what’s the point of reading it?”

”But if you don’t read it, how do you sign the contract?” Lawrence Winters was quite surprised, ”What if there’s something underhanded in the contract, and by signing it, you’re trapping yourself?”

”At worst, you just lose; what kind of trick could there be?” Daoist Wang was unconcerned, ”Didn’t you see the contract’s term? It only lasts until the end of the competition.”

Lawrence Winters: ”...”

Alright, maybe she was overthinking it.

Daoist Wang squinted and glanced at her, ”...Did you read the whole contract? You couldn’t have, right? So many pages...”

Lawrence Winters just smiled and said nothing.

Once the contract was signed and the notary applied their seal publicly, it was considered effective.

The host brought over a draw tube and asked the eight participants to draw lots.

They will form two groups, each with four people, to compete in team matchups.

The winning group will advance to the second round of competition.

So it’s an eight-to-four progression.

Lawrence Winters clicked her tongue twice, thinking that the first-round teammates would become opponents in the second round.

This move is really skillful...

Of course, despite her secret complaints, things proceed as they should.

They went according to rank to draw lots.

The staffer actually handed the draw tube first to Mr. Gilbert.

Lawrence Winters narrowed her eyes, memorizing the staffer’s name and appearance.

Mr. Gilbert didn’t humble himself, reaching inside first and pulling out a lot depicted as a peony.

Lawrence Winters was the second to draw, and surprisingly, she drew a peony lot as well.

Mr. Gilbert laughed, ”Looks like I will be teaming up with young Lawrence Winters for the competition.”

That old pretentious tone was like the smell of garlic, making one panic.

Lawrence Winters waved her hand in front of her, smiling, ”Mr. Gilbert, in terms of rank, I’m a level above you. You cannot say the words ’young friend’; only I can say it.”

She patted Mr. Gilbert on the shoulder, ”Young Gilbert, do your best!”

She didn’t hide her intentions at all, and her voice wasn’t low, causing an immediate uproar in the hall.

Caitlin Gilbert couldn’t help but shout angrily, ”Lawrence Winters! Do you have any manners!”

Lawrence Winters raised an eyebrow and said, ”...You should ask if your father has any manners. Among us in the Celestial Path Sect, we pay great attention to rank and seniority. I am of the same generation as your father’s master, so shouldn’t your father call me ’young friend’?”

”What?! She has such a high rank?!”

”No way?! She still looks very young...”

”Age doesn’t necessarily mean anything. There are many grandfathers in cradles, and grandsons with canes...”

The people in the hall were buzzing with discussion. Those who understood naturally understood, but since there were few from the Celestial Path Sect present today, most did not understand.

Lawrence Winters waited for this opportunity to reaffirm her Grant Branch.

She asserted loudly, ”I am a descendant of the Grant Branch. My master is the seventy-eighth generation of Grant Branch, Mr. Gilbert’s master is also the seventy-eighth generation. And by our Celestial Master Sect’s rules, the Grant Branch is considered one generation higher than others. So I rank above Mr. Gilbert, does anyone have any questions?”

”Can you call your elders ’young friend’? If you can, then I have nothing to say.”

Lawrence Winters spread her hands, slightly curling her lips.

Her appearance, both celestial and stunning, was like a dewy morning peony renowned as Jade Tower Spring, snow-white and jade-green.

A murmur of ”ah” spread among the crowd, indicating they had learned something new.

Mr. Gilbert didn’t seem to mind, smiling and saying, ”Miss Winters is right, I forgot about that. Seeing Miss Winters look so young, it’s hard to associate you with those old men from the Celestial Path Sect. I hope Miss Winters will forgive me.”

He cupped his hands towards Lawrence Winters, voluntarily apologizing.

Lawrence Winters didn’t push further.

Her goal was to expand the influence of the Grant Branch, and not let the Gilbert Branch quietly erase their presence.

Now that the goal was achieved, she nodded, ”I know Mr. Gilbert meant no offense.”

The dispute was settled, and the lottery ended.

It turned out the other kind of flower lot was the peony lot.

Four peony lots and four peony lots in total.

They were divided into the Peony Group and Peony Group.

The staff then gave them each a small pin.

The Peony Group’s pin was a peony, and the Peony Group’s pin was a peony.

And they reminded them, ”Make sure to wear the pin during the match; the drone relies on this pin for your location.”

Lawrence Winters didn’t want to puncture her silk top, raised her hand requesting to change her clothes before wearing the pin.

The staff agreed, but gave her a time limit.

”...We depart for the airport at ten, the contractor is in another city.”

Lawrence Winters: ”...”

Whoa, it really is on location!
