Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 945: Chapter 458: Even Should We Meet, We Would Not Know Each Other (First Update)_3

Evan Stetford looked at the five scientist judges, ”What do you all think?”

The five scientist judges exchanged glances and said, ”...We think this rule itself is not very rigorous. Using it to determine whether a contestant is disqualified is indeed a bit too harsh.”

”Eh? How can our rule not be rigorous? We’ve used it for decades, it’s been the rule for eighteen contests, and we’ve never had this issue!” A Grant Branch judge squinted and glanced toward Autumn and Richard Stetford.

Richard Stetford still had that smiling expression.

Autumn Stetford curled one side of his lip.

Evan Stetford rubbed his temples, ”So if we vote to decide whether Lawrence Winters should lose his qualification to participate, who supports? Who opposes?”

The ten judges discussed briefly and, as expected, ended up in a tie.

Five scientist judges opposed, five Grant Branch judges supported.

At this point, Quentin Parker, the Supreme Judge, had to step in.

Quentin Parker held a hand on his chin, looking at the contest rules on his phone.

After a moment, he shook his head and said, ”I do not support it because Lawrence the Heavenly Master has not broken the rules.”

”They all know each other! Didn’t you see how that person addressed Lawrence as Great Heavenly Master?! It was like they saw a savior, it was disgusting!” A Grant Branch judge complained unhappily.

Quentin Parker glanced at him, his peach blossom eyes showing calmness.

He said coolly, ”Your rules make it clear: if the commissioner and contestant conceal their prior acquaintance, the contestant immediately loses qualification.”

”But you see, if they really knew each other beforehand, yet the commissioner appeared and openly displayed their familiarity without concealing it, why should the contestant lose qualification?”

The five Grant Branch judges stood up together, ”What?! You can interpret it this way?! We didn’t just mean that! This rule doesn’t mean that!”

Quentin Parker lazily rested a hand on the sofa armrest, ”Whether that’s what it means, the rule decides, not you. If the rule doesn’t express what you intend, that’s a flaw in your rule, and you can’t fault the contestant.”

”If you want to change the rule, it would only apply to subsequent contests, not this one.”

He closed his phone, a hint of a smile in his eyes, and said, ”Moreover, I do not believe Lawrence the Heavenly Master knows this couple.”

”How could they not know each other? Didn’t you just say they knew each other but didn’t conceal it?” The white-bearded Grant Branch judge was baffled by Quentin Parker’s words.

Evan Stetford tugged at the corner of his mouth, thinking who Quentin Parker was?

Competing with him over rule interpretation, isn’t that like the old man taking poison, too impatient to live?

Richard Stetford also felt that the Grant Branch judges had shown a bit too much eagerness.

He coughed once and said, ”Master Parker makes sense. I also believe Lawrence the Heavenly Master does not know this couple. However, shouldn’t we ask why this couple recognizes her?”

Evan Stetford nodded, ”Okay, I will have the host ask them now.”

He sent a message to the host.

The host, initially confused, saw Evan Stetford’s message and quickly approached the couple, smiling, ”Our Lawrence the Heavenly Master is so young and already has two fans like you, it’s truly an honor. I’d like to ask, where did you meet Lawrence the Heavenly Master?”

The couple had calmed down completely.

Mr. Zhu wiped his hands on his trouser seams, a bit nervously, and said, ”...We watched your live broadcast and saw that Lawrence the Heavenly Master has the most fans and receives the most tips...”

Saying this, he took out his phone to show everyone.

It happened to display the Celestial Path Sect APP.

At that moment, the advertisement time ended, and the live broadcast resumed.

Thus, the audience watching the live stream saw people within the stream also watching their own live stream...

”...Banning nested live streaming!”

”Isn’t this like playing the mirror game?!”

”Turns out the commissioners also watch the live stream, hahaha! This is too amusing!”

The appearance of the commissioners was pixelated during the live stream; the audience could only hear their voices, unable to see their faces.

Additionally, their body shapes were even modified by real-time effects software, looking nothing like their true selves.

Thus, this ”acquaintance controversy” dissipated into nothing.

Lawrence Winters found it amusing, but Mrs. Zhu, as she released her hand, quietly pinched his palm and slipped a small paper ball into his hand.
