Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 864: Chapter 431: So What If That’s the Case (Third Update)

But Richard Stetford is the family head of the Stetford Family, and Evan Stetford is just his heir.

As long as Richard Stetford is alive, Evan must respect his authority.

This bit of social etiquette, Evan is well aware of in his heart.

After all, having mixed in the domestic film industry for six years, it wasn’t just for nothing.

Richard Stetford inquired about Lawrence Winters’ tastes and preferences, and then went to the kitchen to talk to the chef.

Evan seized this opportunity to call Edward Foster.

At this time, it was already midnight in their home country, a time when most people there are asleep.

But before Evan called, he checked his social media moments and found that Edward Foster had posted something just ten minutes ago, indicating he wasn’t asleep yet.

Sure enough, the phone rang only for a short while before it was picked up.

Edward Foster’s voice carried a hint of intoxication as he chuckled and asked, ”Oh? Why is Evan calling me? You’re not syncing a video of you and Lawrence meeting, are you?”

”Well, it’s quite the coincidence, Lawrence is at my house now, do you want to meet her?” Evan said casually, ”By the way, Lawrence said she’s not in a good mood because of some personal matters and came abroad for a trip to relax. Do you know what’s going on?”

”Yeah, I know...” Edward Foster wouldn’t normally tell Evan, but since he had just spent the whole evening drinking alone, he wanted to talk to someone, so he slurred, ”She got divorced, and she’s not in a great mood. Something happened at home, probably related to the Grant Branch. I guess she’s here to give them trouble.”

Evan: ”!!!”

His grip tightened, and even his breathing became a bit uneasy, ”...Really? She’s divorced? Her family’s trouble is related to the Grant Branch? Is it about her grandfather getting injured?”

Evan knew about it and had even specifically called to offer his condolences.

Edward Foster nodded, sighing, ”The old man, at his age, was nearly killed in a car accident. Lawrence values her family above all. Making trouble for her family is far worse than making trouble for her personally.”

Evan finally understood why Lawrence Winters had gone to set up shop on the fortune-telling street in Chinatown.

She was out to cross paths with the Grant Branch!

But the Grant Branch was really going too far.

Evan’s expression turned slightly cold, thinking it was time to deal with them together.

Let the arrogant Grant Branch take a fall; don’t mess with those you shouldn’t mess with.

”Okay, I got it. Thanks for the info, Little Foster,” Evan said with a meaningful smile, ”It’s late, you should go to bed.”

Edward Foster shook his head, still a bit dazed. He wanted to continue the conversation but realized the other side had already hung up.

When he tried to call back, the call went unanswered.

He stared at his phone for a while, indeed feeling drowsy, and soon fell asleep.

On Evan’s side, his mood was still high, and he couldn’t calm down for a while.

He went to the kitchen, had a look, and then returned to the living room.

...

After Evan and Richard Stetford left, Lawrence Winters had to face Aiden Sheldon and Autumn Stetford alone.

She usually intended to avoid these two, but now at Evan’s house, she wasn’t particularly concerned.

She sat alone on the sofa, smiled, and nodded to the two.

Aiden Sheldon, sitting not far from her, focused his attention on her and smiled faintly, ”Miss Winters, are you here for a vacation?”

Meanwhile, Autumn Stetford sent a message to the friends she went shopping with: ”Lawrence Winters came to my house.”

She switched the camera to focus on Lawrence and started a live stream for them.

The three friends who were happily shopping quieted down immediately upon seeing the graceful and striking Lawrence.

Ruby Sheldon was the first to react, astonished, ”What’s she doing at our house? How did she find us?”

Autumn continued messaging: ”Evan brought her back.”

”How could Uncle Evan do that?!” Ruby said indignantly, ”Uncle Evan knows very well that I don’t like that woman!”

Autumn curled one corner of her mouth and continued to message: ”Mm, but it seems your uncle really likes her.”

”But she’s married! How could she do this?!” Ruby clenched her fist, ”Mom, let me speak to her!”

Autumn raised her eyebrows, initially planning to refuse, but glimpsed Evan and Richard Stetford approaching, so she nodded, ”Alright.”

She took her phone over, smiled at Lawrence and said, ”Miss Winters, we meet again. Betty is out shopping right now and can’t come back, but she wants to say hi to you.”

Saying this, she turned on the microphone and pointed the phone at Lawrence.

Lawrence Winters tugged at her lips, looking at Ruby Sheldon on Autumn’s phone, and said, ”Hi.”
