Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 890: Chapter 440: Supreme Forget Emotions

It’s not long since Evan Stetford returned, and Olivia Gilbert is a particularly responsible senior secretary who has also served as a board secretary for several years. Her understanding of Stetford Enterprises is unmatched by ordinary people.

Olivia Gilbert spoke in such a manner, Evan Stetford nodded with a faint smile, ”Olivia, you’re too modest. You don’t just know a bit; you’re our Stetford Business encyclopedia. If there’s something I don’t know, I just need to ask you, no need to ask anyone else. I bet even my dad doesn’t know as much as you do.”

A nearly imperceptible shadow flickered in Richard Stetford’s eyes, but his expression remained unchanged as he cheerfully said, ”Is that so? That’s great! With Olivia helping you, I can be at ease.”

Being praised by Evan Stetford made Olivia Gilbert a bit embarrassed and somewhat nervous, but with Richard Stetford also speaking so, she felt reassured.

Mr. Gilbert laughed aloud, repeatedly saying, ”Mr. Stetford, you’re too kind. She’s just a youngster; you shouldn’t praise her too much. You should offer more criticism and guidance so she can do even better.”

Caitlin Gilbert stood beside Olivia Gilbert, pulling her arm and winking, saying, ”Sis, look, not only did Evan praise you, even Uncle Ninth praised you!”

Richard Stetford is commonly referred to as ”Uncle Ninth,” although there’s generally no familial relationship, everyone calls him that.

Only Mr. Gilbert consistently and respectfully called him ”Mr. Stetford.”

Olivia Gilbert sneaked a glance at Evan Stetford, suppressing her rapidly beating heart, thinking he might praise her again. But Evan had already shifted the topic, focusing on tomorrow’s preliminary round.

”Mr. Gilbert, since you’re here, I’ll ask a few more questions. There are hundreds of people signed up for tomorrow’s auditions, and only eight spots are available. Is there enough time?”

Mr. Gilbert quickly adopted a ”speak freely, without reservation” posture, humbly stating, ”Don’t worry, Evan. We’ve set the requirements for the auditions quite low, precisely to give everyone interested a chance to showcase themselves. You know, the Celestial Path Sect has many talented individuals. They might be socially inept or inexperienced but as long as they have a heart inclined towards the path, they have a future.”

”And it has been like this for many years. As the saying goes, ’A golden stone shines brightly.’”

Evan Stetford nodded, ”So that’s how it is. That’s good, I thought there were so many people in the audition to create confusion.”

Mr. Gilbert gave an awkward smile, ”Of course not, thinking that way underestimates the sharp eyes of our Celestial Path Sect’s selection committee. Everyone entering the auditions will make an oath to The Three Pure Ones, and if they cheat, they’ll be plagued by the Heart Demon, unable to progress in their path.”

Evan Stetford twitched his mouth and continued, ”I looked at the application forms, and for tomorrow’s auditions, there are 378 participants, but only five people in the Celestial Path Sect selection committee. Can they handle it?”

”Hahaha, that’s not an issue. Evan, these five are among the most skilled in our Grant Branch of Celestial Path Skill. They’re not only highly competent themselves but also have wide perspectives, so as long as they’re present, there’s nothing to worry about!”

Mr. Gilbert said happily.

Evan Stetford laid a piece of paper on the long table, saying, ”... But our competition is the Celestial Path Sect World Cup. It’s not fair to have only your Grant Branch people as judges, is it?”

Mr. Gilbert: ”...”

Evan Stetford continued, ”I see that besides the Grant Branch, there are also participants from the Xu Branch, Sa Branch, and even the Zhang Branch. Although their numbers are insignificant compared to the Grant Branch, just like you said, we should provide all participants a chance to fairly showcase themselves.”

He emphasized the word ”fairly.”

Olivia Gilbert understood his implication and promptly said, ”Evan is right. The other branches should also have representation on the judging panel to be fair.”

”But there’s nobody left from the other branches, it’s not that we don’t want them as judges...” Mr. Gilbert shrugged, looking regretful, ”All these years, we’ve persistently invited the elders of those three branches, but no one has responded. As you can see, the participants from those branches are self-declared, to be honest.”

”From what I know, the Xu Branch and Sa Branch’s lineages were lost long ago, and these people haven’t officially inherited the qualifications. But as I said earlier, as long as there’s a heart inclined towards the path, we should accommodate them.”

”The more we embrace, the greater the capacity!”

Mr. Gilbert indeed knew how to speak well.

Evan Stetford smiled, curling his lips, ”So that’s how it is.”
