Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 898: Chapter 442: The Patriarch Rewards Food (Second Update)

”Mr. Parker, can you help us out?” Lawrence Winters was anxious. ”You know so much... we don’t want to lose money!”

Quentin Parker chuckled, ”Is money all you can think about?”

”Of course, who would be happy about losing money for no reason?”

Is there really no other way?

She knew that Kenneth Osborne had asked Francis Johnson to get experts to look at this piece of code, including one of her mentors, Ian Lothrop.

Ian Lothrop’s opinion was similar to Quentin Parker’s: there might be factual infringement.

Now even Quentin Parker thinks so, which means this lawsuit is going to be very hard to fight.

Lawrence Winters realized she had underestimated the seriousness of this case.

But she didn’t want to pay money, she absolutely refused to do so.

The most annoying thing was that foreign company was already discussing listing NewHuman Corporation and her, the producer, as defendants!

Quentin Parker saw her face showing a hint of stubborn persistence, and felt moved, saying, ”Aren’t you participating in the Celestial Path Sect’s preliminary competition today?”

Lawrence Winters nodded, ”Yup, it starts at nine. There’s still an hour and a half left.”

Quentin Parker was curious, ”Aren’t you going to prepare?”

”I’ve already prepared... today’s the competition day, so there’s no need to add pressure on myself.” Lawrence Winters shrugged, ”If you’re willing to help us, I can give you the business card of the owner of AI Vision Promise, the person who wrote this piece of software, and you can talk to him directly, you might get more information.”

She emphasized again, ”I can swear to The Three Pure Ones, he really didn’t plagiarize! At the time, I personally used his human-machine dialogue software to do post-production effects on the video. Then he wrote down my human-machine dialogue process in code for the computer to self-learn and use.”

Quentin Parker saw she didn’t really understand computer programming, so he didn’t ask more, saying, ”If it’s convenient, I might talk to your friend. But I won’t be here for many days, so I’m afraid I can’t help much.”

Lawrence Winters was surprised, ”Why not? Can’t you stay a bit longer?”

”No.” Quentin Parker refused decisively.

Lawrence Winters wasn’t angry, she blinked and said, ”Okay, I’ll arrange for you to meet my friend as soon as possible.”

Quentin Parker nodded, ”Alright, I’ll be here until your Celestial Path Sect competition ends.”

Just about a week.

Lawrence Winters quickly said, ”Okay, I’ll inform him right away to meet you today.”

Quentin Parker lowered his head and continued drinking his coffee, still with an indifferent attitude.

Lawrence Winters checked the time, it was almost eight o’clock.

Going from here to Chinatown, if there’s no traffic, takes about thirty minutes.

If there’s traffic, it’d be great to make it in an hour.

She hurriedly got up to say goodbye, ”Mr. Parker, I’d better leave now. I know you’re the Supreme Judge, are you going today?”

Quentin Parker was a bit surprised, his radiant eyes glanced at her, ”You know I’m the Supreme Judge?”

”Yeah, I’m pretty familiar with Ian Lothrop and Quentin Johnson.” Lawrence Winters was slightly evasive, she didn’t dare say she divined it...

Even she thought this divination thing was quite mysterious, she didn’t know if Quentin Parker, the person involved, would find it awkward.

”Oh, turns out we’re acquaintances.” Quentin Parker smiled, ”Alright, you go ahead. I’ll drop by to watch today. But the preliminaries don’t need judges, I’ll just go for the fun.”

Lawrence Winters bowed to Quentin Parker again, then hastily dashed out.

Quentin Parker watched her back, feeling a sense of warmth.

He thought, if he had a sister, he’d hope she’d be like Lawrence Winters.

As for why he felt this way about Lawrence Winters upon first meeting her, he couldn’t say, it was just a peculiar feeling.

...

Lawrence Winters drove like crazy and finally arrived at 8:45 at No. 8 Chinatown.

From the outside, it looked like a large theater.

The exterior was wrapped in layers of neon lights, and even old-fashioned monthly calendar beauties were used as signs, like a living fossil of modern history architecture.

The building was taller than a residential building, about as tall as a three-story residential building.

Lawrence Winters parked her car at a nearby paid parking lot, and when she got out, she saw over three hundred men and women wearing Daoist robes of various colors, like a film set, all gathered at the theater’s entrance queueing, almost fainting!

What a disgrace!

Are you here to participate in the Celestial Path Sect World Cup preliminaries, or a entertainment industry debut audition?!
