Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 891: Chapter 440: Supreme Forget Emotions (Second Update Requesting Monthly Ticket)

He also intentionally didn’t mention Mr. Gilbert’s little trap in his words, which was that Mr. Gilbert deliberately ignored Zhang Branch’s matters.

Evan Stetford had already learned that Xu Branch and Sa Branch indeed lost their lineage early on, and their disciples were all annexed by the Grant Branch.

However, the Zhang Branch, although few in number, has never lost their lineage, and their reputation in the Celestial Path Sect is much greater than the Grant Branch.

According to the rules of the Celestial Path Sect, the people of Zhang Branch are ’regarded one level higher’ when meeting, and the people of Grant Branch are unwilling to submit under Zhang Branch. It’s quite natural for them to ostracize Zhang Branch.

But this time, with Lawrence Winters participating in the competition, it’s not so natural.

Evan Stetford will not give Lawrence Winters a backdoor to make her first place.

It would be an insult to her, and neither Lawrence Winters nor Evan Stetford would do such a thing.

What he can do is to provide her with an external environment where she can compete fairly.

So after Mr. Gilbert mentioned he couldn’t find people from other branches to be judges, Evan Stetford said, ”Well then, I’ll recommend five people unrelated to the Grant Branch to be on the judging panel. This way, five against five, preventing bias from the Grant Branch judges. How about that?”

Mr. Gilbert blinked, ”...Recommend five more people? Okay, but won’t it be too late? You see, there are only a few hours left until the preliminary rounds start tomorrow.”

”Don’t worry about this, I’ve already communicated with them, and they said as long as you agree, they’re willing to be judges.” Evan Stetford smiled subtly, countering Mr. Gilbert again.

Mr. Gilbert let out a dry laugh, unconsciously clenching his fingers into a fist, and quickly said, ”I have no objections, as long as you think it’s good. But do these people understand Celestial Path Skill?”

”They don’t understand, but they have the intellect to discern what is true and what is false,” Evan Stetford said meaningfully, ”Here are the professional categories of these five people, take a look.”

He pushed the paper over.

The paper didn’t have the names of those people, probably for confidentiality.

But it listed their professions and achievements.

”Judge A, a tenured professor in the Physics Department of a prestigious university, well-versed in string theory, Nobel Prize in Physics laureate.”

”Judge B, a tenured professor in the Chemistry Department of a prestigious university, with many patents in material science, Nobel Prize in Chemistry laureate.”

”Judge C, a tenured professor in the Microelectronics Department of a prestigious university, holding multiple chip patents, Nobel Prize in Physics laureate.”

”Judge D, a tenured professor in the Mathematics Department of a prestigious university, a senior scholar in quantum geometry, double laureate of the Fields Medal and the Wolf Prize.”

”Judge E, a chief neurosurgeon at the nation’s top-ranked hospital, Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine laureate.”

After reading about these five people, Mr. Gilbert breathed a sigh of relief but was also deeply puzzled, ”...But they are all scientists or doctors. Are they also members of the Celestial Path Sect? Can they understand tomorrow’s preliminary rounds?”

Evan Stetford smiled and said, ”They are scientists or doctors, but not just any scientists or doctors. They are among the top-ranking in their fields. They are very interested in the matters of the Celestial Path Sect and are attempting to explain it from a scientific perspective.”

”I believe they can function as judges, striking the right balance, ensuring that Celestial Path Skill is no longer something that can’t be brought to light.”

”I know, this is just the first step. They might still not be able to provide an effective scientific explanation of Celestial Path Skill’s principles, but everything must have a beginning, don’t you think?”

Evan Stetford leaned back into the dining chair, the gentle and clear light from the four corners of the terrace blending with the moonlight in the night sky, and in the distance, the gentle waves lapped against the shore rocks.

His appearance, amidst the gentle breeze, ocean waves, and moonlight, was heart-stirring.

Olivia Gilbert, who had already had a crush on him, found herself even more infatuated, unable to extricate herself.

Caitlin Gilbert, having a heart for someone else and seeing Kenneth Osborne’s looks being even more striking than Evan Stetford’s, didn’t find herself as speechless as Olivia Gilbert, and could still think normally.

She tapped on the paper with her fingers and curiously said, ”But they are also five people, and we of the Grant Branch are also five people, adding up to ten. If the opinions are divided evenly, what do we do with a five-five tie?”

Evan Stetford was waiting for someone to ask this question. He smiled and nodded approvingly, ”Caitlin is very smart, and it’s a good question. I’ve thought of this point too, so I’ve invited a Supreme Judge. He generally doesn’t need to express his opinion, but when the ten judges are in a tie, his vote becomes critically important.”
