Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 889: Chapter 439: Someone Is Coming

People from the Grant Branch and Stetford Enterprises come here to discuss things.

This study that doubles as a small conference room is fifty square meters, very spacious.

The curtains inside are soundproof and lightproof, and there are many anti-surveillance electronic devices hidden in the layers of the room, not visible from the outside.

On the north side of the room are two large floor-to-ceiling windows, with a wall in between, and a desk beneath the wall.

A circle of round sofas is placed in the spacious middle area, perfect for face-to-face meetings.

The room faces south, with a row of old-style rosewood sofas along the wall by the entrance, while the east and west walls have custom-made glass door bookshelves, covering the entire two walls.

Behind the bookshelf on the east wall is a hidden secret room, known only to Richard Stetford and Evan Stetford, not even Autumn Stetford.

Mr. Gilbert brought his two daughters into this study, smiling as he spoke to Richard and Evan Stetford on the circular sofa in the middle of the room, ”Mr. Stetford, Young Stetford, sorry for the disturbance.”

”It’s no problem, Mr. Gilbert. Your presence brightens our humble abode!” Richard Stetford laughed heartily, speaking very politely, elevating their prestige.

But if you think he’s so amiable, that he’s easygoing, then you’d be wrong.

Mr. Gilbert has worked with Richard Stetford for over two decades, and he knows this one’s more dangerous than a smiling tiger, a ferocious chimera that devours without leaving a trace!

Many people think his smile makes him an easy mark, only to find themselves consumed, not even bones left.

So, while Richard may be courteous, Mr. Gilbert cannot take it lightly.

He respectfully bowed and said, ”Mr. Stetford, you’re too kind. I came specifically to ask young master Evan if everything is ready for tomorrow’s preliminary match?”

”I know young master Evan is intelligent and capable, but after all, this is his first time. As one of the third elders of the Grant Branch, I stand with the Stetford Family. I hope this time, young master Evan can make a big success, showing everyone that the eldest son of the Stetford is back.”

Richard Stetford smiled and gestured, ”Alright, I understand, have a seat first.”

He then looked at the two young ladies standing by Mr. Gilbert’s side and remarked, ”This must be Caitlin, right? I haven’t seen you for years, you’ve always been in the country, haven’t you?”

He then said to Olivia, ”Olivia, I won’t stand on ceremony with you, go get the butler to prepare some refreshments, so we can chat while we eat.”

Olivia Gilbert hasn’t been working in the Grant Branch these years; she’s been working in the Stetford family business.

She was once one of Richard Stetford’s board secretaries, and now she no longer works as a board secretary, but as a senior secretary for Evan Stetford.

With her assistance, Evan quickly got the hang of Stetford’s family business matters.

However, Evan has been busy with the Celestial Path Sect’s main competition these days and hasn’t been going to work at the Stetford company.

Olivia, familiar with the Stetford Family, didn’t mind, smiling as she said, ”Uncle Stetford, you all wait, I’ll be right back.”

She smoothly left the study, heading to the tearoom.

The Stetford Family’s butler and maids were also familiar with her, greeting her along the way and escorting her to the tearoom.

In the study, Caitlin has indeed come to this small study for the first time.

Seeing her sister getting along so well with Richard Stetford, she felt that her sister’s marriage to young master Evan was almost certain.

Richard clearly regarded her as a junior, surely grooming her as Evan’s fiancée.

Caitlin was delighted, with a beaming face, she said to Evan, ”Young master Evan, I’ve just returned to the country, and my dad wants me to help them with account management in the Grant Branch. I hope young master Evan can guide me a lot.”

She didn’t bow, just nodded slightly.

Evan smiled and said, ”It’s not about guidance, I’m just newly in charge too. Caitlin, you graduated in accounting, the accounts of the Grant Branch aren’t difficult, you’ll have no issue.”

”Thank you, young master Evan, I will do my best!” Caitlin smiled and nodded.

Mr. Gilbert didn’t mince words, getting straight to the point with Richard and Evan, ”Mr. Stetford, you know, I only have these two daughters, I didn’t plan to have more sons. I’ve accepted my fate as a father-in-law this lifetime.”

Caitlin giggled, ”Dad, there’s such a thing as father-in-law fate?”

”Of course there is. Don’t interrupt!” Mr. Gilbert chuckled and gave her a sidelong glance, continuing to say to Richard and Evan, ”I mean to tell you two, I’m binding myself to the Stetford Family. I’m sending Caitlin to the Grant Branch for young master Evan’s sake. She won’t listen to them, only to young master Evan’s orders.”

Caitlin also nodded repeatedly, ”Young master Evan, just consider me your eyes and ears, I’ll report everything in the Grant Branch faithfully to you.”

Evan squinted slightly, chuckled, and said, ”No need for that. As long as the Grant Branch respects our Stetford Family, I don’t want to meddle, and besides, I don’t understand.”

At this time, Olivia returned with two maids carrying two plates of snacks and tea, hearing Evan’s words, she smiled and said, ”...it’s alright, I know a bit. Young master Evan, I’ll help you.”
