Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 883: Chapter 437: He Loves Her, But It Has Nothing to Do With Her

He could even hear small gasps and intakes of breath.

The chubby waitress didn’t expect such good treatment either. As she walked back, her legs felt weak, stepping deep and shallow, as if in a fog, almost tripping over her feet.

Caitlin Gilbert, feeling thirsty from talking, suddenly reached out for Kenneth Osborne’s bottle of mineral water to drink.

Kenneth quickly pulled that bottle of mineral water away, smiling as he said, ”I’ve already drunk from this one. Ms. Gilbert, why not get a new bottle instead?”

”I don’t mind,” Caitlin slightly blushed.

”But I do mind.” Kenneth held the bottle of mineral water with one hand, his straight fingers like green pines and bamboo, making Caitlin wish he was holding her instead...

She closed her eyes, feeling a little woozy.

Drunk without drinking wine.

The allure of a handsome man is really dangerous...

She took a couple of deep breaths and said, ”Mr. Osborne, I added you on WeChat earlier, but you haven’t accepted it yet.”

Kenneth wasn’t initially planning to accept it, but hearing that she was the daughter of ”Mr. Gilbert,” who seemed to hold an uncommon position in the Celestial Path Sect, might allow him to learn more about Lawrence Winters through them.

He took out his phone, smiling faintly as he said, ”I didn’t see it earlier.”

Then he opened WeChat and accepted Caitlin Gilbert’s friend request.

Caitlin hurriedly took out her phone and was practically ready to dance seeing a new contact called ”Handsome Guy on the Plane” among her WeChat friends.

The note she gave him was ”Handsome Guy on the Plane.”

The profile picture was of a plane in the blue sky, her lucky charm.

Soon, the waitress returned with the credit card and receipt, asking for his signature.

Kenneth signed, put away the credit card, and planned to return to the hotel.

At this time, Mr. Gilbert, seeing his daughter hadn’t returned, sent someone to see what was happening.

When he learned his daughter was acting smitten, serving as a ”waitress” for a man dining, he was both amused and a little irritated.

Holding his cigar, he walked to the corridor to take a look.

Just one look, and he paused unexpectedly.

This man’s face... is truly extraordinary!

His heart skipped a beat, and he hastily pulled out a compass, aiming it in Kenneth Osborne’s direction.

This time, on his specially-made compass, the aura of the ”person of great fortune” he had been tracking reappeared!

Mr. Gilbert instinctively followed the direction of the compass downstairs, finally stopping in front of Kenneth Osborne and Caitlin.

Mr. Gilbert calmly clasped his hands behind his back. On the palm-sized compass, the needle spun wildly, as if it once again lost direction, or perhaps the aura was so strong it made it ”drunk.”

Caitlin looked up, seeing her father approaching, she quickly stood up, her face flushed, ”Dad, this is Mr. Osborne whom I met on the plane. My phone was out of power at the time, so I borrowed his phone to call you. I didn’t expect we’d meet again in the same restaurant.”

Mr. Gilbert carefully examined Kenneth Osborne’s face, becoming more satisfied with each look.

In all his years of face-reading, he had never seen such an excellent face!

Not only extremely wealthy but also full of auspicious and prosperous aura!

It was a flawless face!

Could he be the ”person of great fortune”?

But according to Caitlin, he just arrived here...

Mr. Gilbert couldn’t help but ask, ”Mr. Osborne, did you just arrive in Chinatown? Have you been here in the past few days?”

Kenneth smiled and shook his head, ”Hello, Mr. Gilbert. I just arrived today; a few days ago, I was still working overtime back home, so how could I be here?”

Customs records are hard to fake, so it wasn’t him.

Mr. Gilbert felt a bit disappointed but even more curious.

If it wasn’t him, why did his specially-made compass indicate he had the aura of a ”person of great fortune”?

He said to Caitlin, ”Caitlin, since Mr. Osborne helped you so much, you must show him proper hospitality. Oh, right, let Caitlin treat you this meal. You don’t have to pay.”

”Oh, I forgot! I originally intended to put it on my tab!” Caitlin, annoyed, patted her own forehead, ”I’m so scatterbrained! Sorry, Mr. Osborne, can I transfer the money to you?”

Kenneth smiled and shook his head, ”No need, it’s just a small amount, no need to trouble yourself.”

”Okay, in that case, I’ll treat you to a proper meal tomorrow,” Caitlin chuckled, ”Where are you staying, Mr. Osborne? I’ll come to pick you up tomorrow.”

”I’m at the Half Moon Hotel, but there’s no need to trouble yourself. Aren’t you busy with that grand competition? You don’t need to look after me,” Kenneth nodded towards Mr. Gilbert as well, ”Farewell.”

He lightly sidestepped the father and daughter, and walked unhurriedly towards the restaurant door.

Caitlin watched his back with infatuation, sighing, ”...Even his back is so handsome...”

Mr. Gilbert felt he couldn’t watch any longer, slapping her forehead, ”Wake up, even if you’re trying to pursue him, at least wipe your drool. You’re embarrassing your father!”

Caitlin giggled, wrapping her arm around Mr. Gilbert’s, curiously saying, ”Dad, you have such high standards, and you actually approve of Mr. Osborne?”

”He’s alright. Caitlin, you know I care about you the most, and I hope you have a safe and peaceful life. Don’t get involved with the Celestial Path Sect. That man just now, he’s not bad. If you can win him over, I’ll give you a generous dowry, and you’ll have nothing to worry about in this life.”

Caitlin made a face, ”Dad, it’s been tough, but we finally agree on something concerning my lifelong matters!”

Mr. Gilbert laughed, ”I also find it not easy.”

But just before entering their private room, Mr. Gilbert quietly said, ”Don’t let your sister know about this.”

Caitlin nodded knowingly, lowering her voice to ask, ”Dad, do you want my elder sister to marry into the Stetford Family?”

”Your elder sister’s Eight Characters are strong; she can handle it.” Mr. Gilbert’s eyes crinkled with a smile, ”And she has liked Che since childhood, so I’m fulfilling her wish too.”

Inside the private room, a pristine and classic-looking woman sat properly.

She lowered her eyes to look at the bird’s nest soup in front of her, her long dark eyelashes casting a shadow beneath her eyes, like crow’s wings.
