Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 896: Chapter 442: The Founder Grants a Meal (Second Update)

Lawrence Winters had seen the photos; she knew this man was extremely handsome, but having grown up with Kenneth Osborne as childhood friends for so many years, she thought she was immune to good-looking men.

Yet, when she saw this man, her breath caught for a moment.

Her heart raced wildly, just like that year she first saw Evan Stetford in that movie on the screen...

The difference was, Evan Stetford was acting, whereas this man’s aura and stance were completely genuine!

He was exactly her type!

Lawrence Winters’ ink-black eyes almost sparkled.

This man was Quentin Parker.

He had only been here for a few days and discovered his business was in a mess. He was already anxious and sold it cheaply, yet someone exploited a loophole, buying it at a ridiculously low price.

He was reviewing the documents from when the property was sold.

Being a prominent lawyer and a law professor at the university,

anyone daring to play word games and exploit loopholes in legal documents during a transaction with him would receive a lesson.

He had nearly spent the whole night reviewing documents, catching only a wink of sleep in the morning before being awakened by the call alert on the communicator.

Now, seeing this young woman standing before him, her face full of unexpected joy, he felt a strange sense of familiarity.

”Are you Professor Lu’s apprentice?” Quentin Parker quickly assessed Lawrence Winters, stepping aside to let her in.

Lawrence Winters walked in, saying, ”Yes, I am Professor Lu’s apprentice, Lawrence Winters. Mr. Parker, Professor Lu asked me to properly entertain you. I happen to have a favor to ask you.”

Quentin Parker: ”...”

He rubbed his brow, said faintly, ”This is our first meeting, and you’re already asking for a favor. You are quite familiar yet carefree.”

Then he asked, ”I haven’t had breakfast. Have you?”

Lawrence Winters nodded, ”I’ve eaten. Mr. Parker, feel free. I know it’s not appropriate to bother you this early, but I have to attend the Celestial Path Sect’s preliminary competition at nine today, so I had to come early to discuss this matter with you.”

Quentin Parker said nothing, walked to the kitchen, made himself a cup of coffee, casually grabbed a few small muffins, placed them on a gilded-edged plate, carried them out, and sat next to the dining room table.

Lawrence Winters followed him in, sat across from him carefully, and said, ”Mr. Parker, I actually wanted to ask if you are still taking on cases...”

Quentin Parker glanced at her, saying casually, ”If it’s your friends, they probably can’t afford me.”

Lawrence Winters was unwilling to give up, ”What are your fees?”

Quentin Parker gave an astronomical figure.

Lawrence Winters: ”...”

Alright, it was indeed very expensive, but if Quentin Parker could really help with this case, it would still be worth it.

She had never thought of helping Kenneth Osborne with this matter, nor did she think Kenneth Osborne needed her help.

She had always had great confidence in Kenneth Osborne. In front of Kenneth Osborne, those people were all trash, that was undeniable.

However, when she came here, she found that the media here were frantically hyping AI Vision Promise Corporation’s infringement of foreign company codes.

Meanwhile, since that fantasy martial arts drama received excellent viewership overseas, it was overshadowing many domestic dramas to the point of having to be cut short.

Having offended so many people and affecting their jobs, these people turned even more malicious.

Even the broadcasting television station and the drama production NewHuman Corporation might be added to the list of defendants, being sued together for compensation with AI Vision Promise.

This seriously touched Lawrence Winters’ weak spot.

Trying to tarnish the reputation of Kenneth Osborne’s company or even make Kenneth Osborne compensate; Lawrence Winters might let that slide.

But if they even thought about suing the NewHuman Corporation and talked about whether to include her name as the producer, that was drinking her blood, eating her flesh!

No way!

So, while preparing for the Celestial Path Sect’s preliminary competition, she also mulled over finding a top-notch lawyer to show these foreigners a thing or two!

She searched and searched, finding several renowned Chinese lawyers, but only Quentin Parker had never lost a case.

His only flaw was that he suddenly disappeared from the public eye a few years ago, no one knew where he went.

People speculated he suddenly fell ill and passed away, others said he retired and lived happily ever after, marrying and having kids with his beloved.

Lawrence Winters didn’t believe any of it.

Later, when Evan Stetford needed to find a Supreme Judge, she had a sudden inspiration to perform a divination for him, and through a fortunate twist, divined Quentin Parker, even predicting he recently returned to the place he once lived.
