Chapter 1192: Chapter 516: Surya Is Pregnant (Part 2)

Gold is a precious metal for humans, but for Elves and Demon Toads skilled in using the Magic Wind, it is a high-quality vessel that can conduct magic. What Laine spoke about the Golden Toilet wasn’t nonsense to the Lake Fairy.

”No, I was just saying randomly.” Laine shook his head and shrugged, ”Just take it as a joke.”

”It’s about time, it’s already 2 in the morning, you should go back now.” The Lake Fairy realized they had talked for a long time after hearing Laine’s strange joke, ”Surya is still waiting for you.”

”Won’t you come back with me?” Laine proactively took the Lake Fairy’s hand, ”My Lady, you’ve spent quite a bit of Divine Power helping me during this period, right? We can spend the Winter Festival together.”

”Is this an invitation? Or just casual talk? Or is it your scheme?” The Lake Fairy seemed quite interested, deliberately standing still without expressing her stance, holding the Holy Grail while watching what Laine intended to say next.

”This is definitely a formal invitation.” Laine knew the Lake Fairy was doing it on purpose, he found it amusing and immediately knelt on one knee, issuing a formal invitation to the Lake Fairy, ”May I have the honor to invite you?”

Laine knew this was exactly what the Lake Fairy wanted.

Women~

Before Laine could kneel, the Lake Fairy immediately grabbed him, her smile bright as a flower, ”Alright, I agree.”

Emerging from the lakebed, the midnight Lily Flower Island was tranquil, and the Lake Fairy walked side by side with Laine from the center of the lake, indicating her very satisfied attitude towards Laine. She especially loved seeing Laine kneeling in front of her.

”Are you really planning to have that Witch and female sorcerer make a Golem?” The Lake Fairy continued from the previous topic, ”High Elves have tried building Golems, but the production technology and energy supply for Golems have always been a problem.”

”The Empire’s engineering has already helped us solve the production technology issue of Golems. The Flame Academy’s Fire Golem once crushed a Green-skinned Warlord’s head with one punch.” Laine indeed doesn’t depend much on Golems, ”Currently, the production technology for Golems can only be used defensively; attempting an offensive is unlikely. Veronica wants to control the Golem to reach Musillon, but it’s estimated she’d exhaust her Magic Power near Charon Forest.”

”Since Golems don’t help in attacking Musillon, why let your two female courtiers do this?” The Lake Fairy habitually interfered in Laine’s matters again, ”And that Magic Crystal Cannon too.”

”It’s for long-term preparation.” Laine shook his head, with hands behind his back, ”There will be a day they’ll be useful.”

”As long as you have a plan.” The Lake Fairy also stopped debating with Laine over minor issues, as it was pointless.

Laine mounted a Pure-blooded Elf Warhorse, while the Lake Fairy summoned a pure Unicorn, preparing to leave Charon Forest and return to Laine’s domain.

The Lake Fairy was going to spend the Winter Festival with Laine and Surya, now a tradition for the three to celebrate together.

”My Lady...” Laine hesitated before speaking, ”I plan to issue some decrees, such as prohibiting the offering...”

”You’re going to touch the Tithing?!” As expected, the Lake Fairy’s tone immediately changed, fiercely staring at Laine, ”You better think carefully, my Champion, who is your greatest supporter?”

”No, no, I’m not going to touch the Tithing.” Laine hurriedly added, pulling on the reins as he continued, ”I just hope you can issue an Oracle, explicitly forbidding those Lake God Prophets and Lake God Saintesses from randomly demanding offerings from Peasants or other things.”

”Ah, I see.” The Lake Fairy’s expression finally calmed down.

Upon thinking carefully, with Laine’s intelligence, he definitely wouldn’t touch the Tithing. The most powerful force supporting Laine right now is precisely the Lake Fairy Church, why would he cut into his basic support? If Laine dared to challenge this iron law of the Mortal World, someone would immediately stand up to yell at him.

The Lady’s Divine Chosen Champion, are you trying to rebel?

The Lake Fairy Church’s Tithing is mainly used to cover the expenses of Lake God Prophets and Holy Grail Knights, and the importance of Holy Grail Knights to the country is self-evident. No matter the domain, it is common for the Church to collect Tithing.

Even Laine’s father’s Empire collects Tithing.

What Laine mentioned was about the recent behavior of some Lake God Prophets and Lake God Saintesses.

Since Laine’s domain has become wealthy, many Lake God Prophets and Lake God Saintesses have taken a liking to roaming around. Whenever they arrive somewhere, they demand enough food offerings for their enjoyment from the local nobles and peasants and also collect some money.

Laine even heard that a few Lake God Prophets’ private lives were quite disordered. They often stayed in the homes of Free People, demanding that these Free People bring their underage boys out to bed them, saying it was to perform a ”baptism”... The next day, after having their fill, the Lake God Prophets would leave, satisfied and with the Free People’s offering money, and then knock on the next household’s door.

This wasn’t just hearsay; Laine sent people to investigate and confirmed these events. Many boys received ”baptisms” and often showed red-faced shyness when questioned.

The Lake God Prophets and Lake God Saintesses hold a special status in Brittania. These Female Spellcasters are not subject to the Knight Kingdom’s legal constraints, and this matter needed Laine to personally discuss with the Lake Fairy.

”Ah, I see.” After listening to Laine’s description, the Lake Fairy’s expression improved significantly, ”I will inform Mogiana to issue my Oracle to curb the random solicitation of offerings issue. I will also encourage Lake God Prophets to find stable partners. But I hope you understand, I can’t manage their private lives. Gods handle divinity, and mortals handle mortal matters. Some Lake God Prophets like frequently changing bedmates; that’s their freedom, I won’t interfere.”

”That’s enough.” Laine smiled, ”As long as you understand, my Lady.”

”This isn’t a significant issue.” The Lake Fairy lightly gestured to indicate, ”You just tell me if you have matters to discuss.”

The Goddess rode the Unicorn closer, gently kissed Laine’s cheek, ”I like your honesty with me.”

...I am the line separating those who love fried chicken...

The arrival of the Winter Festival not only brought holiday joy, but also two pieces of news that sent Laine into ecstasy.

The first is another batch of Dwarves from the Angland Clan migrating to Black Stone Stronghold and Oka Mountain. Belgar and his clan have finally found remnants of past glory. Now over fifteen thousand Dwarves have settled in Brittania, bringing with them advanced manufacturing, metallurgy, and mining technologies that greatly enhance production capacity.

Belgar is committed to restoring production, preparing to stockpile materials for the expedition to Eight Peaks Mountain, with Dwarven muskets, artillery, and other heavy weapons being mass-produced, while Laine expects by spring to attack Musillon, the number of artillery would be enough for vampires lacking long-range weapons.

The second piece of news sent the whole County of Glamorgan into a frenzy.

Laine’s wife, the Marchioness of Winford and Countess of Glamorgan, Surya was pregnant.

The news of the female knight’s pregnancy spread like wildfire throughout the Knight Kingdom, with Dukes either happy, surprised, or frowning, but undoubtedly they all sent congratulations and gifts. Laine, in his joy, announced that all peasants in the domain could claim a gourmet fruit pie and a cup of grape wine upon showing household registration, and all registered knights were welcome to attend the banquet at Laine’s winery.

Francois was overjoyed upon hearing the news, personally leading the Quenalis Champion Knights Brotherhood’s Champion Knights to visit his pregnant daughter.

At the banquet, the Lake Fairy descended to the Mortal World in her true form, happily announcing that Laine and Surya’s child would receive her blessing, ensuring he would never suffer from disease.

The Goddess also personally announced at the banquet that she had already thought of a name for the child, and the lady knight’s unborn child was named Devenhill, bestowed by the deity to be named Devenhill-Macado.

Laine: ”???”
