Chapter 1160: Chapter 502: Bloody Battle at Starlight Bridge (Part 2)

”For the Legion Commander! For the Ash Legion!”

”For the New World!”

The war chants grew louder; Chaos Demons grew impatient with mortal resistance. With a command from the Great Demon of Khorne, Korox, a squad of Khorne Steel Bull Cavalry began their charge.

”Hold the line! Form ranks, dense formations! Hold!!!” Fernando, the Deputy Legion Commander—observing the scene—roared hoarsely: ”The enemy is coming!”

Pilazzo’s vigilance saved many lives, but mortals still seemed so fragile against Chaos Demons. Despite being fully prepared, the Khorne Chaos Steel Bull Cavalry smashed the Ash Legion’s ranks like cannonballs. The strong steel bulls easily shattered shields and long spears as they slaughtered using war axes and long spears, or even fists. Within the hundreds of meters of battle lines, there was a bloody gale everywhere. The Tzeentch’s Battle Fleet and Slaanesh’s Desire Knights then charged in, with the enemy’s attack surging like waves.

Tzeentch’s Fiery War Chariot bore Tzeentch’s Holy Emblem and was entirely blue. The High-Tier Tzeentch Fire Demon aboard spat blazing flames, scorching the land. Two Low-Tier Fire Demons steered the Tzeentch Flying Disc, with Screamers pulling it. Every bearing of the disc had sharp fangs and numerous eyes, and wherever they passed, perfectly fine human soldiers turned into twisted skeletons.

The Slaanesh Desire Knights joyfully leaped among crowds, hunting the isolated. They savored the gasps of dying mortals and their cries of desperation. Nothing gave these demons more delight than this spiritual feast.

The battle lines broke wave after wave, and it seemed the failure of the Ash Legion was inevitable. Yet the human soldiers did not intend to surrender. Under the loud orders of the Tiriel Engineer, the entire Musket Battalion hastily prepared for a volley. The Battalion Commander and Company Commanders ordered the musketeers to aim carefully, as these demons wouldn’t give them a second chance to reload.

”Boom~ boom boom boom boom~” A cacophony of gunfire and bullets erupted from the Musket Battalion. It was the sound of gunpowder hitting demon armor, and the barrage had gratifying effects. On the spot, over thirty Khorne Steel Bull riders, five Tzeentch Fiery War Chariots, and over twenty Desire Knights were shot down and banished.

The advance of the Chaos Demons faced slight obstacles, but soon more demons surged forth. The whispers of the Evil Gods lingered in each soldier’s mind, mocking their hubris; the praises for the Evil Gods grew louder and more chaotic.

Near the human army, the Lizardman Legion was already faltering. These servants left by the Ancient Saints were unable to halt the Chaos Demon Legion’s advance despite shedding much blood and sacrifice. The battle lines were moving toward the Great Pyramid, and every line faced the risk of collapse. A young fifth-generation Shilan was even dragged from his Golden Throne by Chaos demons and died a brutal death.

Currently, only the battle at Great Lord Shilan, Demon Toad Mazda Moody’s location, fared slightly better. This greatest living Great Demon Lord was activating the Sun God Potek’s powers. The radiant sunlight dispelled Chaos Corruption and deterred the chaos demons from nearing. With just a word or a flick of the arm from Mazda Moody, hundreds of chaos demons turned to ashes. With every movement, heaven and earth collapsed; three giant cracks nearly swallowed half the sluggish-moving Nurgle Legion. When the Chaos Demon Legion clashed with Mazda Moody’s Temple Guard Legion ”Sun Honor Guard”, Mazda Moody cast spells, unleashing three scythe-like flames over a hundred meters high, sweeping all along the ground, devouring, tearing—leaving none alive.

Warlord Kupga riding his Tyrannosaurus Kuimoke, led dinosaurs to carve out a battlefield amidst the demon legion. The mighty Tyrannosaurus shook the earth with each step, its sharp teeth unstoppable even by chaos demons. Under Kupga’s fierce assault, the chaos demons’ attack grew intermittent; no demon could stand against Kupga’s fury.

Not even Great Nurgle Demon Lu Gade.

From far away, Kupga spotted Lu Gade because it was too conspicuous. That heap of rotting and foul flesh was clearly coming for Kupga, blocking his path.

Amid endless decay and stench, the Warlord shrewdly assessed the Great Nurgle Demon’s plan. Clearly, the opponent intended to drag out the battle. If Kupga and his Temple Guard, Cold Lizard Cavalry, and Tyrannosaurus got bogged down by the Nurgle Legion, then the Lizardman army at the front could no longer withstand the Chaos Legion’s offensive.

Thus, Kupga decided to engage. The Warlord leaped like lightning from Tyrannosaurus Kuimoke’s back, focused the Divine Tlanxla Battle Spear on the Great Nurgle Demon’s form. In one breath, the plague-ridden rusty war blade of the Great Nurgle Demon sliced through empty air, and Kupga had already plunged the spear into the demon’s belly, stirring it fiercely.

”Hah~ hahaha~ stupid reptile, the benevolent father grants me eternal life. The wounds you inflict upon me will heal within a day.” The Great Nurgle Demon’s speed was clearly too slow. No matter how it tried to fight back, it only struck air. Kupga’s spear pierced the Great Nurgle Demon repeatedly, and Lu Gade responded with mocking laughter, its mouth wide open, unable to stop laughing.
